  1. Once a fan, always a fan. No true supporter chops and changes according to who the manager is.
  2. And yet we are now higher in the league table than back then.
  3. That's right. According to the whoscored.com web site Gueye is well ahead of our other players for goal involvements(goals scored plus assists) per minutes on the pitch. For players with more than 500 minutes played in the EFL this season the numbers this season are : Gueye 812 minutes played 7 goal involvements 116minutes per goal involvement Weimann 756 4 189 JRC 816 4 204 Dolan 1360 5 272 Ohashi 1402 5 280 Cantwell 1195 4 299 Travis 1725 3 575 Hedges 1363 2 681
  4. Yes I saw it; I also saw Callum Brittain's work which led to our first goal as well as his work which led to our second goal. He should have been MOM.
  5. Have they got the right photo ? He looks years older than the 22 that he is stated to be.
  6. Overall under JDT last season we got 33 points from 29 games- a rate 0f 1.14 per game. Under JE we got 20 points from 17 games - a rate of 1.18 per game.
  7. I don't usually contribute to this sort of discussion but based on newspaper chatter : Winger Ethan Ennis on loan from Manchester United Striker Louie Barry on loan from Aston Villa CB Tyler Binfield from Reading
  8. The criticism last season wasn't justified because it missed the point. When he was appointed manager we had taken just 5 points from the previous 11 games which was a rate of point accretion which if maintained would have seen us relegated. However because of our good start to the season we did have 33 points from 29 games. It was perfectly reasonable to come in with the attitude that if he got us organised and difficult to beat so that we would then be getting 1 point a game in the remainder of the season we would probably avoid relegation. So that is what he did - in fact did 3 points better than a point a game. There was no good fortune involved.
  9. Our thoughts and prayers are with Vinjay at this difficult time.
  10. When JDT went we had taken 5 points from the previous 11 games - so in fact results did improve on what had gone on in those 11 games. They had to - otherwise we would have been relegated for certain.
  11. Moyes (and Potter) are reported not to be interested in the job because they don't like the "structure" at the club which I assume means they don't have sufficient control over recruitment.
  12. He was 20 in September and I would have thought needs to be in and around the first team squad by the end of the season to be worth holding on to.
  13. Things have not gone well at Wolves this season but O'Neill's record in previous seasons at Bournemouth and Wolves shows that he is a "proper manager".
  14. As far as I can tell that is correct although Blackburn Olympic beat them in the 1883 FA Cup final.
  15. I doubt it .In 1882 we lost in the FA Cup final to Old Etonians; as far as I can tell we had not played them before.
  16. He's a legend at Millwall - this seems to be more with the owner trying to move the club towards a model of developing and selling young players whereas Harris wanted the traditional Harry Cripps Millwall hard men.
  17. As pointed out above Pears did not play in the game at Hillsborough. Why are you so determined to talk down one of our players ?
  18. I think the point some posters further up the thread have been making is that he has turned a corner.
  19. Very good win for Frank Lampard's Coventry City, away to Millwall.
  20. Great stuff, just like the Howard Kendall days getting the 1-0 wins.
  21. Why ? His only season as a manager in the Championship he guided Derby in to the playoffs.
  22. Pompey had sold 1900 tickets - not a few dozen. If the club believed that the responsible approach was to have an inspection at 11.00 I don't understand your criticism.
  23. Will the club not take out insurance for this ?
  24. I would have more respect for your view if you had come on here at 8am to say so.
  25. What do you think should be the last time for an inspection ? The problem with having an inspection too early is that (1) if you give the game a definite go ahead then there is a risk of playing in farcical, possibly dangerous, conditions if the weather deteriorates more than expected and (2) if the game is called off then people complain if in fact conditions turn out to be playable.
