But if he wouldn't have signed a contract at all without that release clause he could have walked for next to nothing. -

How did the club deal with Phillips' transition to being professional in a poor way ? -
Aren't you one of the posters who keeps calling on the club to "Increase Turnover " ? Yet here you call for the club to turn their noses up at the prospect of increased ticket sales ?

Nowhere have I negated the overall impact of their incompetence. But that began in 2010 with the dismissal of Allardyce and his replacement by Kean. The situation that those now employed at Ewood Park now face requires some very difficult decisions by them. -

As far as I know the only people talking about being fair to the owners are you and Steve Waggott ? When I say be fair to the club I mean the people at Ewood Park. -

No - let's be realistic about the position that the employees at Ewood Park were placed in. I'm not interested in defending the owners who are useless. -

Ok - so you accept that the club handled the departure of one of the two Academy quality graduates was handled properly. But what would you have done with Wharton with all the pressure coming from India ? -

What would you have done differently with regard to Phillips ? -

To be fair, I don't think the club had any choice regarding Phillips and the Wharton sale was driven by a court case in India. -

They also had Lee Clark's son playing -
He's a wing back rather more than a full back and has been doing well in the last couple of months with a few assists and a goal. Could well be in the first team squad next season which would mean Batty could be loaned out to see if he is going to be good enough.

Rovers loanees Georgie Gent and Jack Vale both in the starting line up for Motherwell versus Celtic live on Sky.

Very sad news. I saw him put on an unbelievable display in an away game at West Brom the season they got promoted. Along with David Raya the best keeper to come through our youth scheme in living memory. -

Shrewd man management by Eustace. Talks Gallagher up and is rewarded by a goal and an assist in the first half hour. What a contrast to his predecessor who would have spent the week whinging about not being able to sign a No 9. -

Think you only have to remember what Fergie has said about the Glaziers to realise that yet again you are talking drivel. -

Worth remembering that Howard Kendall - one of our 2 best managers in living memory - had 1 win, 3 draws and 4 defeats from his first 8 games as our manager in the third tier of league football. -
We'd lost more than just a few games - from the beginning of December until his departure we had taken 5 points from 11 games under JDT and were heading for relegation. The manager is employed to get results on the pitch not to talk about BS at the club - by doing so he gave the players an excuse for failing which they duly did.
