  1. How would majority fan ownership work for a club like ours which is dependent on funding from the owners to the tune of millions of pounds a year ?
  2. There are no "Southgate apologists" for the simple reason that his record as England manager was so superior to his predecessors in the previous 50 years that there was nothing to apologise for.
  3. I didn't see the game but it sounds as if those who wondered why Southgate relied on two holding midfielders have now found out why. The talk of Carsley being axed because of this one bad result in his third game is nonsense. He tried to experiment and it didn't come off - it happens with experiments.
  4. Yet again. 2 from 6 this season and with 4 from the final 6 of last season that's 6 from his last 12 league games. Not many keepers will be matching that.
  5. Certainly the police should be going after the individual who threw the object on to the pitch.
  6. I think O'Brien really should not have suffered from this "ordeal"; if he did he's too weak to make it to the top as a sportsman. Bobby Charlton really did go through an ordeal in the Munich air disaster and came back to establish himself as one of the all time great players.
  7. Our great start continues. After concerns about what would happen after last season you have to say huge credit is due to the manager and the recruitment team.
  8. Actually Ramsey had achieved club success - but your point about the difference between club football and international management is a fair one.
  9. You've failed to point out that Carsley managed England to win the European Under 21 Championship - a strong point in his favour.
  10. The Nations League hasn't created new fixtures; it's replaced meaningless friendlies.
  11. But you can enforce a contractual commitment by them to pay up the part of their contract they haven't worked.
  12. The employee will still have to serve a period of notice. In the case of football contracts they will usually be for 3 or 4 years so one year in to a contract the employee will still have to serve the remainder of their contract period.
  13. How are you going to do that if you're boycotting ?
  14. Hopefully a good signing. He was in the Scottish PFA Team of the year for last season.
  15. Great start to the season continues. Eustace has instilled a resilience in to the team which means we chisel out the points.
  16. One of the "duds" that Broughton signed has just been sold to Ipswich in the Premier League for a substantial profit.
  17. Especially if the reports of his wages being in the region of £1.3m a year are true.
  18. That is correct. This point is specifically addressed in the explanatory notes to the Football Governance Bill published May, stating "An individual incumbent owner or director can only be tested on their fitness or,with respect to owners, their source of wealth .Incumbent owners will not be tested on their financial resources or required to submit a financial plan. This is because the ongoing financial sustainability of clubs is already addressed through financial regulation requirements elsewhere in the legislation."
  19. Alternatively, the large number of goalkeepers that Benson has coached who have made it to the Premier League might suggest that he knows what he is doing.
  20. Because there is no position more than goalkeeping where players improve more as they get older than goalkeeper. Give your head a wobble.
  21. 4 that were good enough to go on to the Premier League.
  22. What do Raya, Steele, Walton and Kaminski think ?
