Yes. I have just had another look at the table as we go in to the World Cup break. Of the top 5 teams we are the only one that are not in receipt of parachute payments from the Premier League, three of the other four receiving £55m and one I think £33m compared with our £8m - £9m from TV rights. The manager has done a brilliant job putting us where we are - and the idea that he might be chased out of the club because of one disappointing day or not giving some absurd "apology" horrifies me.

We are 1 place off automatic promotion ! That is not part of an "agenda" not to get promoted.

JDT has won 2 national titles prior to his appointment as our manager - so I don't understand how his appointment can be part of an agenda not to get promotion.

Having supported the club since 1963 through thick and thin I totally understand what being a supporter is, and as I understand it from a post above from one of the administrators having a pop at another poster leads to a holiday from the board.

I am disappointed, but not angry. There are always going to be bad days, that is the reality of being a supporter.

Under JDT we have been ahead in 12 league games and 2 Carabao Cup games - we have won all 14 ! I see criticising the tactics of a manager with a 100% record in these circumstances as nonsensical as saying that Floyd Mayweather should box in a different way. The game is about winning.

We have 21 points from the 13 games in which Ayala has played 45 minutes or more and 12 points from the 6 games in which he hasn't , so those statistics would back up your opinion.

I don't want to set up a Hyam v Wharton argument - both are excellent at this level - Hyam has a record of 24 points from 13 games which is also excellent.

If the budget was , say, £500k , how likely do you think it is that the players you have described were out there ?

It depends whether you think posts on this topic should be based around wishlists - regardless of budget- or reality, where the budget available to those making recruitment decisions drives those decisions.
