  1. Click on the link about the young player.. Jack Evans. Already gone hasn't he?
  2. And we're actually believing these naff twitter accounts now?
  3. So whoscored.com is being taken as gospel on all players now then? Maybe let's just wait and see if we are even in for this guy before we start DM'ing him on Twitter for the below par performances he hasn't made yet
  4. I know the guy is frustrating as anything we've known, but I hardly think he's sat there twiddling his thumbs, looking at the phone wondering when it's going to ring. It'll be issues on their end rather than him not trying to find out I'm sure. Won't be as simple as you put it
  5. I dont think there has ever really been a "one more season" scenario. League One season we went up, last season was about consolidation, this one was about progress. I would say next season should be his first "one more season" as very little progress has been made this year
  6. Totally agree. Sadly I wouldn't trust those in charge of the club to be able to find these managers. I can't imagine they'd have a nuanced, careful approach to it. More like give it to the cheapest guy that they've heard of and know has managed a bit at this level...
  7. Something fundamentally wrong when whenever we get within a point of the playoffs we turn out awful performances. Time and again. Leave Tony
  8. The "he puts in a good shift" defence thrown around for certain players is a bit tired. All for commitment but commitment allied with a lack of ability (Brereton, Gallagher, Bennett) is never going to amount to much. Squad needs a massive lift over the summer but the sad fact is we'll still be stuck with 2 dead weight strikers who will be shoehorned in somehow or another at the expense of us signing and playing any attackers of genuine ability.
  9. Gallagher comes back, Armstrong goes off form. No coincidence. Gallagher is a criminal waste of money
  10. How incredibly infuriating yet completely unsurprising
  11. Is it me or have we heard less from TM this week? Maybe it's just because the spotlight is on him more that makes it seem like we're hearing less but I'm sure in between games he usually comes out with some of his top 10 sound bites at least a couple of times...
  12. I've been of the opinion that TM should go since that run of form last year February onwards and it was a clear indication that he has zero ability to turn around poor form. Last season we picked up a few consecutive wins in meaningless games towards the end of the season (apparently that was enough to convince Mowbray our defence is just fine), but still conceded in most of those, apart from Bolton at home who were playing their under 12s on the day. What I can never get my head around is his obsession with saying it isn't about tactics and more about passion and desire. That's like approaching every game like a cup game and the results reflect that - goals at both ends and panicked football throughout. I've also never seen a manager negatively change a game from his substitutions as much as him. He literally can't do anything to create an upturn, be that in terms of form or in matches themselves. Anyone suggesting we won't get relegated, name 3 teams worse than us at the moment......
  13. I'd agree with those saying Buckley doesn't look ready. Felt nervous every time he got the ball near our area as he didn't seem aware of the opposition pressing him. Hope it's just an experiment and not a regular thing we'll be seeing. Don't think it's a coincidence that we were much better in the second half, the first 5 minutes aside
  14. I'll never be Bennett's biggest fan as a right back but I agree people look to fault the guy. If Travis was playing there and did the same things he'd get nowhere near the same abuse because he's come through the system. Defensively all 5 did really well today. At no point after we scored did I feel threatened and I think that's more credit to the defence than the opposition being poor. Work to be done further forward for sure but a solid foundation is something we've lacked for a while and it's nice to see the potential of that and hopefully something to be improved further and used as a foundation for progress. But hey let's all use a 1 0 away win as a reason to moan yeah???
  15. Didn't see your specific post to be honest. Just read from a few people on here
  16. Again for that level. Agreed that Mowbray is tactically inept, I'd just rather we went for someone more experienced than Johnson. I don't think we're stable enough in the league to be taking risks
  17. Not quite sure on this clamour for Johnson to take over. Did well with the under 23s yes but it's a completely different animal compared to the championship or league football in general. I personally don't want Mowbray as manager anymore but Johnson replacing him is very risky in such a competitive league.
  18. Sounds like it. Bet he was a condescending arsehole about it though
  19. The sheer number of players being played out of position so far this season is ridiculous
  20. Do we think TM has lost the players? This has the feeling of a team that doesn't want to play for their manager anymore. Defeat against a poor Boro team on Saturday and you wonder if something might happen
  21. Mulgrew would be even worse than Bell at LB. At least Bell can run, mind you that's his only strength. CM pairing of Johnson and Travis is arguably the only positive thing to come from the first game, however what happens when one or both of those two can't play due to injury/suspension? Huge drop in quality from whoever comes in. Agree on Nyambe, he isn't the complete right back people seem to be strangely suggesting he is. He basically cost us a couple of games at home last season due to his poor positional play. Though I'd still rather he played there than Bennett. Tough tough season ahead. Can't see us improving on 15th place...
  22. I guess it's a positive that we're at least looking at CB's right?
  23. I have doubts we could even make the top half. The team isn't stronger than last season, a season we finished 15th in. Even if those players were banging the goals in, Mulgrew would still be getting caught under the high ball and Bell would still be caught napping and we'd still lose games. Yes it's 1 game but we went for 2 months barely winning a game last season and the same problems are still evident. We barely created anything against Charlton, a very very poor team based on Saturday's viewing, so this new style of play that TM wants to implement seems just as slow and ponderous as I imagine many were expecting.
