  1. a proper striker, held the ball up well, difficult to knock off it and was a sound finisher
  2. andy crawford was electric for 79/80 season, think he banged in 25 goals or similar, did`nt he then announce he was basically to good for rovers and wanted a move???which he did`nt get and last i heard of him he was playing for pool fc!!!!
  3. i remember the previous round against coventry and their disgusting cream and brown away kit, being only a youngster my dad refused to take me to the villa game, stating the crowd will be to big and you`ll not see anything,it did`nt stop him going with his drinking mates though,i sulked for a week beforehand and even worse i had to go shopping with my mum and sister on the saturday,,talk about a deprived childhood,it was downright disgraceful!!!!!!!!!!,only positive thing that came out of the whole debacle was being allowed to stop up late to watch the highlights on tv
  4. wait for the "safe standing" to be sanctioned, rip out the riverside seats and have a massive terrace,be epic!!! i fully expect the greedy premiership to throw their excess weight at the standing issue in the next few seasons,to them it would mean more capacity hence more money
  5. class act that lad!!!!!!!always got a goal in him☺️
  6. the only really good side in the division are swansea, not seen anything else that makes me think we can`t beat them, reading looked good but i think that was mowbray`s fault in trying to press a counter attacking team,it`s there for the taking, come on rovers
  7. never really thought much of king tbh, speed of a greyhound but completely one dimensional who was offside perenially
  8. is this the same tommy hutchison who scored at both ends in the 81 cup final??,love to ask him why he moved for hoddles free kick,it was going miles wide
  9. steadfastedly still defending keane!!!!,did he not ask himself why givet and nzonzi put 100 % in for big sam but zero in for keane,we all know the answer but he seems to blame everyone but keane
  10. be amazed if mowbray changes from his current beloved formation, would`nt be a shock to me if if he put bellis in nyambe`s place at right back
  11. how is mowbray going to accomodate harwood-bellis??will he do the unthinkable and drop lenihan??,both the loan boys are most likely here because their clubs stated they need game time and thats why they were loaned to us,risky to put two teenagers at centre back imo, looking forward to mowbrays tactical conundrum on this one
  12. who can forget the inimitable "you`re gonna get you`re ****** head kicked in" or the gentle ditty "you`re going home in an east lancs ambulance"i miss the days when you could remind the opposing player that his wife was rumoured to be a bit of lady of easy virtue, remember the blackburn end giving the west ham striker tony morley loads of abuse after his wife stabbed him in the backside over some alleged affair🤭
  13. it did`nt work until he got so desperate he put 4 subs on at once !!!
  14. the infuriating bit is we have the players to do some serious damage in the promotion race,it just needs a progressive manager to put a cohesive plan together to get us there,no stand out sides in the division and it`s there for the taking imo you can rest assured mowbray will go into the qpr game with exactly the same gameplan as against luton, which did`nt work,he won`t change and we`ll never get promoted,a forward thinking, positive and attack minded manager would take us up,make the opposition worry about us,not the other way round
  15. im`e not a fan of these loan back deals in the case of pickering,he could end up getting injured badly and tbh we desperately need a left back right away, good signing though,by all accounts a real full back who goes bombing forward,it`s what we need, dolan and elliot on the flanks and nyambe and pickering backing them up,we`ll have defences all over the division shaking with terror!!!,can`t see tony thinking as i do unfortunately😉
  16. so would everyone i think, mowbray however is a dinosaur and it`s nailed on he`ll approach the next game with the same side and the same formation,i don`t dislike the fellow but i don`t think he`s a very good manager
  17. could never figure out why mowbray bought him, especially when he had him on loan and got a good look at his attributes, obviously does`nt rate him though myself i always thought he had the ability just never got an extended run,for whatever reason he certainly was`nt tony`s favourite person after his initial loan spell
  18. branthwaite strolled through the game and did`nt miss anything, going to be a class player, just a shame it won`t be for us🥵
  19. a win is a win i suppose but the fact a decent progressive thinking manager would turn this side into a play off certainty is really bugging me,the players are there it`s just the manager is a dinosaur who won`t go extinct
  20. thats exactly what he`s here for, though getting it through to mowbray is akin to communicating with extraterrestrials
  21. annoyingly brentford probably have the same quality of squad we have, they do however have a manager who thinks positively and gets the best out of everybody
  22. another limited but determined side we can`t knock over, though the last 20 minutes have been better
  23. if i was playing against dolan he`d end up in the advertisng hoarding and id`e be in the dressing room, courtesy of a red card!!!!!
  24. dolan is raw but potentially a full backs worst nightmare,a good manager would turn him into a really useful player
