It just seemed to click for him last season. I don't think he was ever a million miles away from the player he became. It was his touch or finish that was the most frustrating because he was getting in decent positions. If he'd of got ten goals I'd of been impressed, using the confidence he'd gained being away with Chile. It makes the new deal for Gallagher make sense. If he gets ten goals say by new year, clubs would be looking at him. Look at Andy fucking Carroll. He got three or four goals at reading and suddenly he was being linked with a return to the premiership 😂.He just needs it to click aswell as in that final ball, first touch or knowing where to put the ball for it to go in.

I don't think he's quite at that stage of his career, where he's looking to move for the nice beaches. And anyway we've got bar Ibiza.

Yeah Italian football overall, bar the top six clubs maybe is on its arse. Surely he could get a better move somewhere either in England or Spain. As long as they meet our asking price though it doesn't really matter. If he's goes on the cheap (one year of his contract remaining) and does well. They'll probably double their money.

Yeah I don't blame the players for leaving and taking more money. Rothwell won't do anything in the premier league. Easy to say now, alot of us at the time would've been fuming if they'd of cashed in on rothwell. Especially since Bournemouth were a direct rival at the time (sounds stupid now with how we finished). Give them a chance in pre season, like we did with Dolan a couple of years ago. See where they're at and go from there. It'd be nice to have academy players in the first team but not just for the sake of it.

Yeah especially since the five sub rule is coming back next season. No harm in having a few of the academy lads on the bench for a some game time.

Yeah the brerton deal was a loan with obligation to buy as well. Seven million does sound like a lot, considering the amount of football and more importantly senior goals he'd got at forest.

Fairer than him walking next summer for free. Like arguably three of our best players this summer. Or paying seven million, him being as bad as the season before last and going for nothing or next to nothing haha. Just be glad he some how managed to turn it round at the begining and for moments towards the end of the season.

I agree but after the start he had and what we could do if we got to reinvest that money. It's not too bad. Ideally we'd try for a player plus cash deal if we can't get the amount we want.

From what I've read the Bordeaux loan was a mandatory fee at the end. So he's a Bordeaux player. They are financially fucked and are now in the third tier of French football.

I think it's like 20% sell on of any profit. I'm trying to remember back to when we signed him. Meaning if we got 20 that's 13 profit, so they would get 2.6 if my maths is right.

Yeah I'm sure they have some money to spend but obviously if Diaz goes, that amount changes. So then it changes the potential target if there's more money available.

I think the whole window hinges on what happens with Diaz. Just a shame he's been away with Chile which would delay any talks/decisions being made.

Yeah he kept having a great game and you'd hope he'd kick on. Then he would go missing for another five games. Hopefully with a striker and a prolific one at that in charge he can come on. He signed a new deal in Jan so like it or not he isn't going anywhere.

We could be league two with no players and I'd still renew. For me it's 23 times a year I can go have a beer and see my mates. The football is definitely secondary.

Yeah his stock is arguably lower than the other two, only due to the lack of time he's been a head coach. I think that's better if anything. He will see this as a chance to prove himself. I'd imagine he sees us as a stepping stone to get a move to a bigger club. Which can only benefit us as a club if he is successful here. He is a born winner and won't settle for mediocrity. Which again benefits us. The players should thrive under an exciting up and coming coach who has all the ambition to succeed.

Yeah he's always an option to have. Depending on who we manage to bring in. He didn't cost anything and his wages can't be that bad. Makes no sense to get rid unless we can get a better player for that price.
