  1. Easy to say now, alot of us at the time would've been fuming if they'd of cashed in on rothwell. Especially since Bournemouth were a direct rival at the time (sounds stupid now with how we finished). Not selling him was seen as a positive. He was arguably playing the best he ever had for rovers. The way it went down with him having come crawling back. Cap in hand and do the interview was bad. Should've just kept it under wraps for me there was no good could come from that. Even if he'd been spotted on the south coast.
  2. Give them a chance in pre season, like we did with Dolan a couple of years ago. See where they're at and go from there. It'd be nice to have academy players in the first team but not just for the sake of it.
  3. Yeah especially since the five sub rule is coming back next season. No harm in having a few of the academy lads on the bench for a some game time.
  4. Yeah the brerton deal was a loan with obligation to buy as well. Seven million does sound like a lot, considering the amount of football and more importantly senior goals he'd got at forest.
  5. Fairer than him walking next summer for free. Like arguably three of our best players this summer. Or paying seven million, him being as bad as the season before last and going for nothing or next to nothing haha. Just be glad he some how managed to turn it round at the begining and for moments towards the end of the season.
  6. I agree but after the start he had and what we could do if we got to reinvest that money. It's not too bad. Ideally we'd try for a player plus cash deal if we can't get the amount we want.
  7. From what I've read the Bordeaux loan was a mandatory fee at the end. So he's a Bordeaux player. They are financially fucked and are now in the third tier of French football.
  8. I think it's like 20% sell on of any profit. I'm trying to remember back to when we signed him. Meaning if we got 20 that's 13 profit, so they would get 2.6 if my maths is right.
  9. I had my picture taken with Kevin Moran at ewood park, when they were rebuilding the Blackburn end. I was only a toddler so obviously can't remember but my mum tells me any time I mention the rovers to her. 😂
  10. I think Maja would be a risk worth taking. Especially given his age and potential.
  11. Anel Ahmedhodzic was also at forest and never played. Still he's alot younger and could be world class. No chance of it happening then.
  12. He's class on footy manager get it done. 😂
  13. I'd love van hecke back and I think it would show some real intent. Unfortunately I can't see it, surely he gets a move to a better team if he can't get in the Brighton team.
  14. Absolute steal if true but you can't blame the lad for trying, to get in that world cup squad. You're going to need a whole new squad from the sounds of things.
  15. Yeah I'm sure they have some money to spend but obviously if Diaz goes, that amount changes. So then it changes the potential target if there's more money available.
  16. I think the whole window hinges on what happens with Diaz. Just a shame he's been away with Chile which would delay any talks/decisions being made.
  17. Yeah he kept having a great game and you'd hope he'd kick on. Then he would go missing for another five games. Hopefully with a striker and a prolific one at that in charge he can come on. He signed a new deal in Jan so like it or not he isn't going anywhere.
  18. We could be league two with no players and I'd still renew. For me it's 23 times a year I can go have a beer and see my mates. The football is definitely secondary.
  19. Yeah his stock is arguably lower than the other two, only due to the lack of time he's been a head coach. I think that's better if anything. He will see this as a chance to prove himself. I'd imagine he sees us as a stepping stone to get a move to a bigger club. Which can only benefit us as a club if he is successful here. He is a born winner and won't settle for mediocrity. Which again benefits us. The players should thrive under an exciting up and coming coach who has all the ambition to succeed.
  20. Yeah he's always an option to have. Depending on who we manage to bring in. He didn't cost anything and his wages can't be that bad. Makes no sense to get rid unless we can get a better player for that price.
  21. Yeah but people were clammering for him when we was linked. More so for Farke, for obvious reasons. He's already won the league twice, walking into perhaps a worse team.
  22. I think everyone would've prefered maybe a Farke or to a lesser extent carvahal. Both of who have managed in the championship. But I would've been absolutely gutted if we ended up with another washed up, tired manager who would've been just another mowbray. Whether this appointment works out or not. He's got us all excited, some more than others. He commands respect from the players just by the level of success he had as a player himself. Whether he turns out to be a great coach or not is to be seen. I think he'll get more slack off the fan base, just by reading the majority of comments on here. If he has a good start and the squad and fans get right behind him. Who knows where we could end up. Let's hope he gets backed and gets a fair crack at it.
  23. Yeah I've always liked Dolan. Whether he's playing good or bad, he's a grafter. Mowbray went off him after his injury but he was still one of our best attacking threats. I'd say he was as good as khadra, the difference being he is ours and has a couple of years left on his deal. No way we should sell unless it's stupid money.
  24. For me cantwell is a big of a luxury player and our squad isn't currently good enough to carry him, if he isn't performing. A bit like Armstrong before his last season and a bit where he started actually taking his chances. That said if we can get a good deal there is definitely a player in there. At least we are being linked with decent players which is a good sign.
  25. Yeah dack was never the quickest or most agile, but he had a nack for being the right place at the right time but most importantly he could score. Brilliant little player on his day. Like a pound shop frank lampard
