  1. Just won four loose high balls he had no right to haha
  2. Agreed giving no support on right side or midfield
  3. Positive compared to last season is i look at the bench and actually hope 3 or 4 players get brought on. I feel JRC has a point to prove to keep place, Ohashi for Gueye if he doesnt make an impact, or Dolan if he doesn't. Siggy for Hedges.. Duru for Brittain when he gets injured. There you go I've called it. No Batth in squad Edit: nvm Batth is there missed him.
  4. Even Walton managed to a premier league start
  5. Interestingly I can't predict our front 4 right now. Personally would go weimann right, hedges left (still think siggy has something extra though after watching Stockport game), can see Buckley coming off the bench a lot this season, particularly when behind. Important player in that regard if we don't sign another CM..
  6. Would of had a solid champ forward line with szmodics + a half decent winger, but ah well. I'd be happy enough if just had a full squad for once, both wing back cover (not convinced on Duru myself yet needs a loan), creative CM, Winger, Striker, Goalie. Ship out Vale. 5 players in needed and we've plenty of loans to use up..
  7. very good point, big difference. Jury still out on new guys mind!
  8. Yeh JRC very off it. Hedges was outpaced, though I think a handy squad player. Need a left winger with pace.. glad the club have recognised that. Ohashi looks like he's the number 11 we've been missing for years (even if not amazing, we just haven't had one since Brereton?) Guaye an improvement on Gallagher, some great flicks/one touch build up play, but his finishing is to be seen.. also whether we can turn his heading abilities into goals. Weimann did what he does best, good to see. Travis made a few penetrating runs which were very effective. He is a good champ player on his day. I didn't think Pears made any obvious clangers? maybe I missed it. Still would like an improvement. 3 or 4 half decent signings (fullback cover (Left mostly), CM & winger) and I think we'll be okay.. if Sammie ends up staying as Ipswich/nobody will pay fair money then definitely okay..
  9. JRC been a bit off it. Can Ohashi play there? Guaye got cramp after running at 90% effort for the first time. Improvement on gallagher off the ball so far.
  10. When was the last time we had more than one 1st team left back? Sounds like garrett off to bristol rovers, i catch a fair few of their games. I think he's been signed as a more advanced cm, interesting to see how he does if so.
  11. Starting to think the Bristol city chap would be a good signing, very experienced in the league (with what looks like will be a unexperienced front 2) and can score (and cross?) Goalkeeper, cb and winger (though need more bodies but as a minimum) i think we may stay up.. unless all new signings flop of course. Couple good loans would go a long way
  12. I'd pay it! Stuck at home with a crooked neck and nothing better to do. Sadly no live coverage of our friendlied available
  13. 12mil+ would be very good business for the model we supposedly set out to do. And seems realistic/good business for Ipswich. Just a shame it doesnt look close to getting reinvested.
  14. Cooper would be a solid signing imo, not 1st choice unless a back 3, experienced and a leader. I'm happy with Hyam and Carter as 1st choice in a 4. Would need another cb if playing back 5 also unless a youngsters deemed ready (on loan as Wharton back eventually) Dont think we'll pull of Cooper though.
  15. Agreed, Gallagher was ineffective/losing the ball - Wharton would have been the best bet on opening that game up. Needs a creative player in the middle.. I do feel we may be better against a team not sitting back.
  16. Apparently missed out on Murphy to pompey.. isnt he a local to the area? Pretty tragic if so. Doubt we'd had our stuff together to be in for anyone at this point though
  17. Agreed have been very underwhelmed, Sunday league level of slow
  18. Didn't seem long ago that rb/lb back was our most stacked position, I'm not too worried about our defence however. Despite the hype I don't think Wharton will start. But going to be an interesting spot in the team for sure!
  19. An article is stating Ipswich interested in gallagher still and will pay 8m 😂 go on then. Though he probably is worth that considering how inept our recruitment has been.. will end up with siggy and leonard up top.
  20. Its like a fever dream, he doesnt look out of place. I do see a place for him in this team against worse teams that will sit back.
  21. Having an academy producing average championship players is better than most clubs could wish for. In fact it's not at that level even in my opinion. 18mil+ pays for the academy for how long? Look at Preston without an academy he's picked up by someone else at a young age, despite being rovers through and through. Imagine the state of this club without academy graduates in recent years, league 2 at best.
  22. Red bull minority shareholders of Leeds. I'd take red bull rovers over venky's.. ha
  23. Amazing for him, England are so light in the holding CM role, maybe he even has a chance. I rate him over Mainoo personally. Rice, Gallagher, Maddison and Wharton maybe as cm options? Crazy really.
  24. I'd take that Santos at cb (for a back 3) can't be slower than Mcfadz. Big unit and tough tackler. I've seen enough of Aaron collins to know he would struggle in champ. Rest weren't up to much. Oxford were very good though i thought but could struggle next year. Would take that brannagan..
