On the other hand if we hadn't made those first three quick signings perhaps the small funds we did have wouldv'e been better reinvested.

Wonder if they've arranged a behind closed doors game for the fringe players/ those coming back from injuries as not in the u21s at all. Telalovic to score a brace here and get our season going ! The mystery factor may work in our favour for a bit.. -

Agree this will be team but Hill for Gamble on the bench maybe, is Ennis injured? hope we manage x2 good forward players (Hedges and Gallagher replacements) tomorrow and beat Plymouth - would be a very promising start to the season if so going into the break. Guessing the JRC playing further up experiment didn't work.. Could of had a RB cover as opposed to RW. Shame, he is injury prone though -

eager to see how gilsenan gets on, two very good finishes from garrett in both cup games so far - upper end of league 1 loan for 6 months would be great for him. -

I'd play this, Brittain and JRC are a strong right side and just we're too weak not having trav/tronstad in middle, and Wharton seems to be only one that can unlock defences from nowhere. Would swap Ennis for Gally though. Still need a striker, i think Carter is very up to it. Can hedges play on left, doesnt seem super effective as an inverted winger. -

They've signed Maja, wait for him to score against us on his debut. Not feeling too confident in this one with injuries, lets hope for a repeat of last year -

In some ways I felt we played worse first half of the season, but got better results / more luck. Last quarter has felt like lady luck has completely been against us, ever since the O'brien transfer fell through (which lets face it, despite being ineptitude was also bad luck). VAR would have given us 4 extra point in the last three games. Plus a couple of reds? but we haven't played great either. Three sucker punchers in a row... can't believe it. Awful refereeing mixed with a blunt strike force. Just hard to watch. Silver lining is amazingly we're still in it. Luton will probs take their foot off the gas as soon as sheffield united pick up a point.. 4 points could do it?? edit.. I turned it off (in wales today) so didn't see Burnley celebrating.. almost forgot, gods sakes even worse, Barnes has got to be up there with most hated players ever. scumbag and bet he handballed on purpose. -

Damn it was handball... never a goal with var, but hows ref to see in that mess. Had way more chances go against us than for this season. Other results gone our way -
Would have been nice to have a prem quality ref in the quarter finals of the FA cup... Was shocked when the Anel challange on Brereton wasn't given (more frustrating we nearly signed him and they hijacked it, yet haven't even paid the fee yet?). Need to bring fresh legs on up top when the press stops working, agreed the subs changed the game, thought our defence was doing fine. But other times this season it has worked well at shutting it out. Just better if they weren't two rusty players coming on Shame but thought both teams looked pretty good today - was a good game. Was super excited for a trip to Wembley. Now let's smash the league and hijack 2nd place after their points deduction! (which they'll probably get next season after getting promoted, sods law of football)

January Transfer Window.

We should be all over this.. it was stated he turned it down as wanted to stay in Scotland (probs wants Celtic/Rangers move), so maybe we're close enough compared to London to entice. Then again I though goodwillie looked amazing before he came 😂 and that Watt -

Remember thinking last season he looked menacing, quick, taking players on and scary set pieces. But not so good in open play. Still could be much more effective than Hedges/Dolan on that side (and defo massive improvement on Morton as set pieces). I think a good 6 month loan as who knows if BBD will disappear this month, proper winger who can create chances, if he does well and they get relegated we could get on the cheap. Presuming we're just taking a large wage bill off their books. Bad signing if a striker (or two for me) don't come in though, as Gally isn't up to much.. Dack/BBD maybe. -
World Cup 2022

Saudi's were pretty damn effective at the short passing game considering lack of talent in squad. Would take the number 10 at rovers mind. -
v Cardiff City (a) 04/10/2022
DackDackGoose replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I feel for Dack.. should have been given that goal. Could have kickstarted his season. On another day could easily of had another pen (on gally) and a very undeserved 2-1 win. But Cardiff were poorer imo. The passing triangles were horrendous, barely looked like breaking them down. Think the manager needs longer with the team before we get consistency, he's a long way off atm. -
After last night, I' d honestly say I dont know what/who we're in for. For me a someone who can score goals (Hirst isn't enough, Gallagher not stepping up and Brero will be gone some point or another. That's my priority, dont think Vales good enough yet needs a loan again. I think we need another DM personally too. And a direct winger.. rest I'd reassess in Jan personally. Good on the club but I hate not knowing our targets at this point, luckily work will be busy to distract!

Managed to finally watch it back last night, we were leaving gaping holes between our midfield and defence and Ayala is very reliant on Lenihan as an outball, actually preferred Van Hecke when he came on but we were much more susceptible to set pieces. Was most impressed with Buckley, the only player that tries clever passes, through balls & has a real knack for cleverly nicking the ball off people without having to crunch in on the tackle. Personally think we'd be a much better team with a fit Dack instead of Rothwell on the pitch. Dolan went round Drinkwater a few times like it was a school playground. -

Where is this Brighton loanee? How'd he pass a medical? Fully expecting to see Johnson back on Saturday, has come through a couple u23 matches. Can see us not picking up much points if we've anything but Lenihan/Ayala paired, or going to a back 3. Only seen highlights but the two headed goals let in were tragic. Diaz's open play goal a beaut! -
A few injuries and we'll be using those such as Garrett, Pike, McBride etc. Maybe hes realised he was wrong and will actually play Gallagher/Brereton central, if not it'll be a mire of a season with terrible false 9's such as Poveda, Dolan and Khadra. Goals have to come from somewhere though and it will need a big system change from last season to do so. Reading the Lincoln forum this new guy plays in CM and only moved to LB there as they were short, eventually doing well. So could be good cover for the middle, we'll see though.

Neither Rovers or Forest club websites have the extended highlights or full match replay.. wild
