  1. There’s a player in Khadra, have always said it. Reckon he’d thrive under Eustace, would be delighted if we signed him permanently.
  2. Gutted about Sammie going, but we all knew it was coming - great post above by arbitro, agree with every word. Really hope Sammie absolutely smashes it in the PL. On our end... every single penny needs to be reinvested into the playing squad, there are really no two ways about it. Eustace said he wanted 3/4 players, that should now become 4/5. Can't say I have much faith that this will be the case tbh, can only hope.
  3. Definitely, his positioning is great however. With his feet he'll miss 2/3 chances for every 1 he scores, but looks lethal in the air. Can see him getting 10+ goals this season.
  4. Would go with this line-up; Norwich lost 2-0 to Oxford last week, and seemingly struggled more than they should have last-night against Stevenage; winning 4-3 in the end. They're leaking goals and aren't off to a good start... we on the other hand, I dare say that we are looking pretty dangerous in attack. Gonna predict a win for us here; 1-2, Yuki and Sammie to score. COYB.
  5. It's likely just to give him a massive pay rise above anything. Which he deserves, half of their squad are overpriced tosh and get more than he does. Poor lad was "only" on £75k a week, reportedly...
  6. Very quiet with regards to transfers at the moment! Assume nothing will happen until after the court date next week, with the outcome determining who we're able to go for. Hopefully we can sign some decent players if the Venky's win the case, which would only slightly cushion the blow of being stuck with them for eternity.
  7. I mean... are we even surprised at this point? If there's a seven-figure fee involved, it simply won't happen.
  8. Ugh, so it looks like we’re just looking to loan one of these Dutch GK’s… so short sighted. We need a permanent who’ll be #1 for years to come. It’s a critical position that we need to fill and justifies proper investment, we don’t need to be trying to solve the same issue again next season.
  9. Really pleased with the feedback on the 2 new lads from last night, despite the fact that we were only playing against Stockport. Particularly happy with the Weimann signing too. If we can then add this dutch GK, and a few or the reported players like Dembele, Gordon, Baker - then at the very least I think we’ll have moved away from relegation battle territory. We might end up pleasantly surprised this season, some progress has been made. Sammie will be a massive miss though, of course, but it is what it is - his head is fully turned at this point, it just needs wrapping up now. Really hope West Ham come in for him by the end of it, would be a dream come true for the lad.
  10. Pleased with the flurry of activity, better late than never! Some good signings in there, Weimann being my pick of the bunch. However, we still need more... here's who i'd like to see us go for; GK: Tim Krul - just fucking get it done. LB: George Cox - previously linked with him, he's available again as a free agent. CAM: Karamoko Dembele - no brainer! Get him and his brother... LW: Siriki Dembele - top top player on his day; fast, goal threat. RW: Josh Bowler - Great player, would probably be the best signing of the lot. Then get some good loans in such as... James Hill, Harvey Vale, Kaide Gordon. Would actually make us a good side that, top half.
  11. Assuming Sammie goes, this is how i'd sort of rate who we've got left - just my opinion of course, understand some might disagree with a lot of it. What's concerning is that we've a lot of players who fall into the 'Unknown' category - as they're either new and unproven at this level, or very young and unproven at this level. I've left out injured players such as Wharton and Leonard, in hindsight should've removed Gilsenan for the same reason. Anyway, I think we urgently need the following permanent signings; - a keeper. - a proper replacement for Szmodics, a marquee signing. - 2 wingers with pace. - a left back. So 5 permanent signings, we then need to supplement the squad with 3/4 good PL loans. That's just to give us a good shot at survival...
  12. Would be delighted to get Danny Batth in, solid at this level.
  13. Think you've hit the nail on the head there, I had a look at the list of free agents - he ticks every box from what @unleaded posted.
  14. Interesting about the winger… is it a new name for the list or previously mentioned?
  15. Glad to see we're getting active in the window, to a degree. Not sure how good (or bad) this Gueye is, read some mixed reviews... however i'll only judge a player after i've seen them play a few games in Blue and White halves. Like Sam Gallagher for example; A bloke who i've seen him play many many times, and I can safely say that he is absolutely, incredibly gash. Finally, he looks to be on his way out - good riddance!
  16. So you’re saying 3 medical tomorrow, then 2 more players later in the week? Drop some names my guy…
  17. Sammie and Gally will both be flogged this upcoming week, and none of the money will be spent until maybe after the hearing, providing it goes well… Buckle in folks, things are gonna get extremely toxic over the next few weeks.
  18. Anyone else got a bad feeling that Ohashi is gonna get hijacked by another Club? Free, low wages, no competition... it all just seems too good to be true.
  19. Good lord... it's worse than I thought.
  20. Tbf, looks an absolute steal at £150k...
  21. English is compulsory in Japanese schools, so I expect he'll be able to do a bit.
  22. Unsure on this Japanese lad, though I suppose there is an exciting 'unknown' element to it at the very least. Some good players have been picked out of the J1 League for the record, to name a few; Kyogo Furuhashi was picked up by Celtic at 26 years old, they paid a hefty £5m or so for him too. His strike rate in the J1 was similar to Yuki Ohashi's, a goal every ~170 minutes or so. Furuhashi has actually gone on to have a better strike rate in the Scottish league for Celtic, than he did in Japan. Kaoru Mitoma was picked up by Brighton at 24 years old, he's practically the definition of 'hidden gem'. Performed well in the J1 League, a goal every 134 minutes. Not much needs to be explained about him, what a signing he's proved to be for just £3m. Koji Miyoshi was signed by Royal Antwerp, before eventually making his way over to Birmingham. Despite them going down last season, he showed his quality and managed to grab 6 goals and 6 assists in his debut Championship season, for a side that got relegated.
  23. I watched a bit of the Nurnberg game and he didn't look bad, though my main observation was that the lad is an absolute unit.
