Whilst I don’t think too highly of Eustace as a coach (for now at least), I do feel like he has an eye for a player, and will make the right signings if appropriately backed. Doubt he could do it on the cheap, however.

John Ruddy at nearly 38 is not a progressive signing at all. He’s as bad as Pears as it is, and continues to decline, the man is rapidly closing in on retirement. In the last year we’ve brought in an absolute shit-tonne from player sales, and more is on the way… we could even end up flogging Leo for around what we paid for him. The squad desperately needs proper investment, not temporary half-assed signings who are below par, like Ruddy.

Likely income this summer Raya (sell-on) - £4m Szmodics - £12m Wahlstedt - £1m £17m there too... so that'd be £40m combined. At a normal Club, you could guarantee at least £20m of that would be reinvested into the squad, especially with a squad in the state of ours... But here? No chance... we'll be lucky if they reinvest £5m.

Window opens in 2 days and we still haven't even taken John Park on as Head of Recruitment... who's been nailed on to get it for weeks. Things are also now stalling with this Adam Owen chap as Technical Director... plus we still haven't replaced the scouts who recently left. It's all part of the plan isn't it? They'll try and drag it all out as long as they can - since the reality is that they can't do anything in the market until after the August court date.
