  1. I can't say that I'm not surprised. When your leading goal scorer says not so long ago, that he isn't looking to leave the club because of the faith that they showed in him, don't believe it! I like how he's gone from his stance, to saying that he has repaid the club with his goals. How quickly things can change.
  2. Up until around Christmas, I had never been a big dance music fan. I used to think that only chavs listened to it, as they drove around in their souped up Corsa's, swearing at people. However, in a couple of months I've completely changed my opinion on it and now I really love it. I have a pretty small collection of dance/trance music tracks on my iPod, around 100 tunes. However, much of that is dedicated to DJ Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren, who I think are both incredible. Just Be, Adgio For Strings and As The Rush Comes are my favourite Tiesto tracks. Van Buuren's Sail and Communication are also excellent. I've also got some Robert Miles, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk-Crush is an incredible tune. Any other suggestions for tracks or artists to download? I've been living in America for the past year and one type of music that I've really gotten into is reggaeton. One of my friends is from Bolivia and this is all he listens to and he has got me hooked. The best way to describe it would be as latino rap music, but that wouldn't really be doing it justice. This type of music is huge in the U.S and not just amongst the hispanic community. Artists like Daddy Yankee, Don Omar and Rakim y Ken Y are huge names. The spanish lyrics flow beautifully and the music is great. I would really suggest listening to it.
  3. Brett has done very well this season at right back and has been one of our best players. At the moment he is our first choice right back and with players like Ooijer and Zurab, we have plenty of cover. I wouldn't be surprised if Hughes looked to bring in a more recognised right back during the summer though. Roque Santa Cruz is saying that he would like to leave Bayern Munich for Spain or Italy. Personally I'd jump at the chance of signing him, an old fashioned centre forward, who has yet to fulfill his enormous potential. I don't really see it happening though, but you can always dream.
  4. In the event that the club don't agree with my thoughts of Jason Roberts being a decent player and decide to sell him.
  5. I'd be happy if we signed Nonda in the summer, however I hope that he wouldn't be the only striker that we sign. Jeffers should be unloaded and unless Jason Roberts improves drastically I could see him leaving (although I think that he's a decent player and could score goals for us, he just hasn't found his feet this season), but I'm sure that Hughes would want to recoup some of the £2 million that he spent on him, before selling him. If that was the case then we would have McCarthy, Nonda, Derbyshire and Gallagher as our strikers. I'm sure Hughes would want another quality addition up front, so in the end we could have five or six strikers, if Roberts were to stay. I think six forwards would be too many, while five would be just right.
  6. I suppose at some level we all knew that refs were bias toward bigger teams, with this book it just rubber stamps our idea.
  7. Greasy old Carlos Kickaball and his diving chums! Excellent. I totally agree with your post as well. Only deluded England fans believe that they have been cheated out of tournaments, while the other sensible ones and the rest of the world see it for what it really is; England aren't that good. A few world class players, lots of good players and a poor team.
  8. I don't know that having a full squad would have made much of a difference to the performance last night. England had a full squad at the World Cup and granted their best player wasn't even half way fit, but they were still awful. You have to look to the management of the team.
  9. I remember during the World Cup having this argument with some of the English fans. There are players on either team that it would be difficult to pick over eachother, like Salgado or Ramos over Neville or Xavi and Xabi Alonso over Carrick and Lampard. But then again there are other players that are so obviously better than their English counterparts that it isn't even worth arguing about. Players like Casillas, Pujol, Xavi, Fabregas, Joaquin, David Villa and Fernando Torres would walk into the England side. Players like Terry, Gerard and Rooney would start for Spain. This is the second time in a row that Spain have beaten England with ease. There's no doubt that England have quality players, it's just that they are a very poor team.
  10. I think that Todd is an important player in the squad. He was playing brilliantly a few seasons ago and even though he hasn't reached those standards since, I don't get nervous when I see his name in the team. With players like Ooijer, Nelsen and Zurab being injuried, it shows how important it is to have a big squad and when Todd has been called on, he has done well.
  11. He's still one of our best players, even if he is on the verge of joining West Ham. I'd play him because getting a result for Blackburn is more important than keeping West Ham happy in transfer talks.
  12. The fact that Lucas has turned down the chance to re-sign for us and keep playing European football this season, as well as failing to agree a move to Liverpool and probable Champions League football, just smacks of being out to get the most amount of money possible. West Ham have plenty of cash to throw about and Lucas obviously wants a lot of it. The fact that there is supposed to be a relegation release clause, just makes his move even more transparent. I suppose he is getting the new start that he wants, but one with a club that are on their way down, just makes you wonder.
  13. Totally agree. Why people are so desperate to sign a guy who has played only a handful of games over the last couple of season, is fat and is constantly injuried is beyond me. We have a crocked player in Steven Reid, so we shouldn't be looking to bring in another player to replace him, who will also be injuried most of the time.
  14. Devastating news about Steven. His return to the team was seen as one of the reasons why we would have a good second half to the season. We definately need another central midfielder now, because Savage, Tugay and Mokoena can't be our only midfield options for the rest of the season.
  15. 300 and Transformers look totally sick, I can't wait to see them. In the trailer there is an overhead shot of the Spartans blocking the small entrance through the cliffs, the thing that made them able to fight for so long and what people talk about when refering to it. It looks cool. The music for the trailer is awesome also, 'Everything You Imagined' by Nine Inch Nails, jus incase you want to know. As for Transformers, I was huge fan of the cartoon when I was young and it's great to see it made into a movie. Now all they have to do is make films of G.I Joe, Visionaries & Centurions into movies and I'll be happy. I agree with Matt, when he says you should see Apocalypto, it is brilliant. I don't know if it's one for the wife though, it is extremely gorey.
  16. Well maybe he could be our fox-in-the-box, like Jeffers was when he started at Everton. Every team could do with a player who scores tap ins and 1-on-1's. If he got 10 of them every season for the first team, then no one would be complaining.
  17. I could see Roberts being given more game time over Derbyshire when he is fit, but for me Derbyshire is a far more important and dangerous player than Jeffers.
  18. I'm delighted that Derbyshire scored today, it's a reward for how well he has played recently. We will definately see more of him, but at the moment I'd rather see McCarthy and Nonda still starting up front. It's worked well recently, with both players scoring goals.
  19. I think Henchoz was a decent signing. With the injuries that we have had at centre back it looks like a wise move to have bought him in. Yes he is slow, but he has experience at this level and provides important cover. Once Nelsen and Zurab gets fit, Henchoz won't be anywhere near the first team set up.
  20. Great result and topping the table is a brilliant achievment. It has come at a cost though, with our league for suffering.
