  1. Would it not be better if a representative of Blackburn council or the local MP be present to discuss the parking/road/ trasnsport issues around Ewood along with what the future holds for the local inhabitants regarding the present and future economic state of Blackburn with Darwen.
  2. Your spot on DMTP, though the young German certainly has attitude and looks the best youngster we've blooded since the debut days of Dunn and Duff. It was good to see him alongside MGP and for the first time i thought what a top quality player we have in Morten Gamst Pedersen. The future is very very positive for Rovers - cant believe it after the past few disappointing seasons.
  3. How many things did the Rovers players do that they wouldnt normally get away with in a premiership game, the defenders playing keep ball in our own box, Tugay playing keep-e-uppy in the centre of midfield whilst rotating 360 degrees with a QPR player riding his back trying desperately to get the ball off him -showboat time good job Mourinho wasnt managing.
  4. My cynical view of the Nelsen charge is, that the FA are not getting back at the Rovers for the Man U semi but the fact that Rovers cancelled a scheduled premier league game against Sunderland when the conditions didnt turn out to be that bad but these fixtures were put in place to aid the national teams world cup campaign thus angering the FA. Rovers found the fault with the undersoil heating, followed procedures to remedy it, submitted a detailed report which cleared the club of any wrong doing. Then with an irrate FA finding they couldnt impose any sanctions against the club then decided to use Ryan Nelsens comments as point for action. The people who brought this charge from the FA board or panel should be made accountable and brought to book by Rovers fans all over the world. The fans should bring a collective pressure on the FA.
  5. Rovers followed the procedures, did everything by the book in getting the game played but the temperatures were dropping as nightime came, unfortunately these things happen. As for communication what happened to radio Lancashire sport last night, when i tuned in at about 6.15pm all that was on was music when i expected to hear someone talkig about the nights football.
  6. Hes certainly not good enough for me, in fact its highly unacceptable that he under performs against Burnley but can score against other weak championship sides.
  7. Gallagher fails again.... in dingledome, its no good for Gally's Rovers career if he cant do the business against Burnley at his third attempt. Championship football looks like the only alternative for Paul Gallagher unless some of you want Rovers to play in the championship and have Gally back. All the lads on loan at the moment dont look like they can cut it at premiership level ....fingers crossed for the youth of tommorrow.
  8. If Jamie Clarke is that fast then how soon before he makes the first team with that kind of pace. Clarke definitely blows Jemal Johnson and Keith Barker out of the water as potential first team attackers if he can maintain that kind of pace.
  9. Wouldnt disagree with those marks very accurate, the top two picks for me were Jamie Clarke how much pace as this lad got, and Alan Judge a similar looking player to David Thompson. Definitely going to keep an eye on Jamie Clarke and see how he progresses, to me he has the biggest potential of all the lads out there to make it but at what level we will have to see.
  10. Todds back - GREAT ! As for our defensive worries my patience and i hope Hughesy patience has run out with Micheal Gray a complete waster looks pretty but does nothing - Gray out.... Matteo back! Tugay and Savage proved today the ideal away day soft centered ponces that Rovers fans dont want them to be, we certainly look like we have to be a different team or play with a different system for away games. If Hughes doesnt bring in a quality striker come January, then its mid table mediocrity for Rovers. We cant expect more fans to come through the turnstiles with away day capers like these, have Rovers been affected by the medias portrayal of the bully boy tag because thats what i want to see them regain instead of this pretty boy soft lad football.
  11. It was a definite penalty especially form were i was sat in the Riverside, the ball was going goalwards until it hit Repka's hand, another Rovers player i think it was Savage made a move for the ball - penalty no doubt about it. I thought we had a shout for a couple more penalties that the ref didnt give so West Ham can count themselves fortunate it wasnt more. Two games now we've comeback from being a goal or two down, which must give the team a lot of encouragement for future games aswell as giving the Rovers faithful plenty of hope - the players are giving their all which is what we all want to see and with a bit of luck they can go very far.
  12. Some shocking, shocking defending by Rovers, i truely belive that Lucas and Zurab were terrified of Harewood and Zamora's physical presence but gladly Rovers saviour was a certain Christian Dailly who came on as a sub for the unfortunate Gabbidon to display once again his full array of inept footballing talents to us the Ewood faithful. West Hams first goal came from a poor, poor, very poor pass from Bentley that failed to reach an attacking forward run by Robbie Savage which caught rovers completely with their pants down. From being a mean lean defensive unit last season, this season we look like we cant defend to save our lives, i'm sure Rovers will find the right balance soon but we do look like a bunch of fancy dans at times which is alright so long as we are winning. Well done to Rovers it all added to the excitment .
  13. Yes, i'm more critical of Zurab's poor attempted tackle on Murphy than the pass to Savage but Zurabs skill on the ball is top quality so hopefully the Charlton incident wont be repeated. Come staurday Nelsen and Zurab are up against two very fast determined young men in Zamora and Harewood whose pace i thought frightened and unsettled Todd at West Ham, so how will our two cope, its going to be a very interesting game ......cant wait.
  14. Sure everyone makes mistakes on the pitch in a game of football .......but its the speed of recovering from a mistake that judges a players fate. Colin Hendry in the good old days of the second division used to allow the opposition a couple of goals and then pop up at the other end to score a few himself (Leicester City at home 3-3 springs to mind). Savage was substituted at Charlton and the other players made a more telling contribution which resulted in a magnificant win. Savage to me, contributes little to the attacking threat of the team which to me is as important as his defensive duties are, this is why i criticise him. Todds in the same boat as Savage he misses too many chances from corners to show a positive contribution to the Rovers cause and he cant play a telling forward pass like say Lucas or Zurab can.
  15. Speaking to a few local United fans over tha past few weeks they have stated they arent going to renew their season tickets next season ..is the bubble about to burst at Old Trafford and are the Glazers going to end up with egg on their faces.
  16. Yes he was, but i thought Savage should come in for some criticism for that second goal aswell at Charlton. Also didnt Zurab play a telling forward pass inside Charltons half which led to one of the comeback goals at Charlton.
  17. I did say that Nelsen, Gray and Friedel have all had their cards marked for some poor defending in recent weeks and Nelsen should take the lions share of the blame for Evertons first goal. My criticism for Andy Todd is all based on the fact that so far this season Zurab has looked a far better player than Todd and he (Zurab) hasnt gone around headbutting opponents or accidentally elbowing them. From talking about accidentally elbowing we now find we are talking about accidental handball with the same player what grey area will we be discussing next in the Andy Todd saga. The poor negative publicity that Rovers receive nationally isnt helped in anyway by having players like Savage and Andy Todd in Rovers colours who only court the negative side of Rovers football which i think is highly unfair unfair on the rest of the team and club.
  18. Thats because another member of the squad on loan from Rangers has performed far better and has looked far better . Todds hasnt just performed badly in just one game this season either, WQest Ham, Villa away, Spurs at home Todd headbutts an opponent plus more - its not being fickle the results and the red and yellow cards back it up.
  19. Would be good to see this study Glenn comparing not only the rest of the premier league but with local towns near to Blackburn including Preston and Burnley, should be an interesting read. Having been present at the Ewood blues meeting with JW and MH, JW stated that it was unbelievable that Rovers are in the premiership whilst the town doesnt boast at least one large business.
  20. Got to say, after seeing the goals go into the Rovers net over the past couple of weeks Friedel, Gray and Nelsen have all had their cards marked through not doing their duties properly. Put this with the fact we dont have a class striking partner for Bellamy, Pedersen and Emmerton both being hit and miss in the consistancy stakes it all leaves Mark Hughes with a challenging task but it is a good challenge as they are all good players. Cant wait for the West Ham game, its going to be a good one because these players along with the coaching staff will all raise the bar because they are TOP professionals and West Ham will come and play an open game which will make for an exciting game.
  21. A question for BRISA from me is what is the strength of the local economy and what is the short term future prediction for the local economy and how many of these people earn £20k plus a year to support current match day prices. Second if not the first objective for BRISA must be.... to sell as many half season tickets as it is possible on behalf of the club, this has to be an area were BRISA can promote ROVERS.
  22. Can Rovers not give Todd a season long ban, then we might be a little bit more consistant.
  23. Why, Jansen is finished, were have you been!
  24. The highlight of the City game was the Rovers fans singing in the concourse at half time whilst the second half had began - lets all have a discothey sang, they obviously knew that a disco would have provided better entertainment than the football. As for the football, Bellamy and Dickov should have been subbed twenty plus minutes before the end because the City defenders had them in their pockets. Overall we've got to be pleased, Nelsen slotted back into the side with ease.
  25. Got to agree with Dan mark Furness, how we can expect a performance from Lucas and Bret is on saturday is beyond me, their celebrations on qualifying for the world cup will probably be in full swing now. Add that to a round the world trek, they aint going to have an easy ninety minutes on saturday lets hope the depth of squad can cope with them on the bench.
