  1. So how do you explain when Matty went one on one with the whole goal to aim for against Nancy, Darbyshire put the ball into the keepers hand - a very poor finisher in my opinion and definitely never ever premier league material. That was Matty's moment of glory and he failed to sieze the opportunity. The rest of the young lads who played against Nancy with the exception of Nolan who probably made more mistakes than the rest, to me have no future at Blackburn unless that is we play Division one football or the old third division standard because thats the level they are at. The people running the academy have to be questioned from the scouts to the coaches because the kids simply arent good enough at this moment in time and for two million pounds per year invetsment - what a waste.
  2. After recent performances in the prem, i think every first teamer whose played recently with the exception of Lucas Neill and Nonda should be playing trying to figure out how they are going to get back to winning ways against Reading. Lets see Hughes set the team up, so they defend better from the front and offer more options going forward, if Macarthy comes deep then the other forward must be looking to go closer to goal past the last defender. Its not rocket science just a lot more hard graft, obviously Tugay wont be able to go at full throttle and i suspect after his second half perfomance against the geordies he might not have alot of strength or energy in him for wednesday nights game. Neill and Nonda for me are scapegoats and Macarthy isnt far behind them along with Gray and Ooijer.
  3. True, but the cost to watch Rovers means nothing if the exitement isnt there. Who's generating the excitement the want, the need to go to Ewood to watch a bottom of the table game against an ordinary team in Boro? The club need to start generating a positive, exciting feel at Ewood Park its something that is sadly lacking at the moment and it isnt the fans or more importantly the missing fans fault. If you drag a horse to STALE water can you really make him drink it !
  4. Gallagher isnt strong enough for premiership football so why should he be playing for Rovers? Jeffers is just a penalty box player, but how often with our current crop of players are we going to get into the box to bring Jeffers into play ? At this moment in time, Blackburn Rovers looks like the easiest team to play against in the prem which is a massive worry. Losing Emmerton is another massive blow.
  5. Too true, but we seem to have even more clowns in reserve which is a worry. Cheap foreign imports are unsustainable for Rovers future especially when they are around the thirty plus mark. Quality investment is required especially in the attacking third.
  6. Having been at the game and puzzled by the decisions of the referee Dowd at the time, his decision making was spot on having seen the TV replays. As soft a penalty as it was, and as inconclusive from the referees point of view Midos handball was, the laws of the game state that Tugay was the last man and his slight trip denied a goal scoring opportunity which meant nothing other than ....a red card. Rather than Rovers and supporters complaining about the official who acted in accordance with the Laws of the game, he deserves credit for his perfomance, Rovers and everybody should ask for clarification on the laws of the game or seek for amendments to them if they have a problem with what they saw with the outcomes or the actions taken by the referee at the time. I hold my hand up and say that Video technology in this game wasnt needed because the official got it right on the day. Full credit to Mr.Dowd if thats his name
  7. Totally agree! Gally is technically gifted as someone points out about his volleying abilities but his overall lack of strength dont allow him to express his skills for the benefit of his team.
  8. Gally is dire - simple as, no exuses interesting to see some of the players looking for other options when Gally was the pass to make to. Fanny Hammers second goal came from what should have been a Rovers goal kick not a corner kick - ah well these things happen Mark Hu8ghes needs to invest in a quality midfielder and not your average DAVID DUNN, then Rovers can progress.
  9. An object lesson in penalty taking is dont shape your body to place it were you end up actually placing the dammed thing. Professional or amateur? No need to worry for all the Rovers fans out there weve lost this battle but ...who will win the war...? Rovers of course, but good luck to Bolton and their small band of fans.
  10. Judging by the amount of non attendees at Rovers over the past couple of seasons that i know of, this game, Feyenoord away has got them all talking about going - to me this will have a similar interest that the Celtic away game had a few seasons ago.
  11. Totally agree, paying £2m for Dunn would be throwing good money away for nothing.
  12. There is a McDonalds in Saltzburg, as you head up to the castle from the river you'll find it in one of the streets as you go by, the building is an old traditional building not a purpose built one like we have in Blackburn.
  13. Looks like quantity over quality to me, you can fantisise all you want but if Nonda isnt as good as Bellamy, then its a big NO, we, Rovers, havent improved or moved forward as a team from last year, just plenty more bodies though to confuse the issue.
  14. Jeffers and Macarthy didnt make a run for Savage to find them in those final seconds very disappointing.
  15. I wish the drummer had been at the pompey game..... unsettling some of the stiffs i had the misfortune to sit with watching the game. Keep up the good work drummer boy !
  16. Evertons game improved significantly once they had taken Beattie and Stubbs off, as for Rovers, our substitutes offered nothing at all, even though i was praying for Bentley to come off. Gally looked very lightweight - if only Emmerton could have been the right sided midfielder then we'd might have had an outlet, but then if you'd witnessed the 'axes' performance at pompey you wouldnt want him to come on and be anywhere near our defence. The last twenty minutes to me were a reflection of the pompey game, long ball from Brad upto Roberts, who then lost out EVERY time in the heading stakes and the opposition promptly attack our goal causing us all sorts of problems.
  17. Got to ask, has the Telegraph become pro Burnely over the past couple of weeks, bought the joke of a rag today in Asda and when i saw it had Burnley v Bolton on the centre pages and just one page about Rovers v Hamburg i had to ask for a refund which the nice lady in Asda kindly gave me my money back. Do you not think the Rovers coverage in the Lancashire Telegraph is very poor ?
  18. I'd say Keith Treacy is more like or very similar in stlye of play to the Kennedy of Wolves and ManCity fame.
  19. With a weak strike force your midfield has to be even stronger than before in order to compensate for the deficiencies. Signing Jeffers does not match John Williams statement about having more quality in the squad for the coming Prem/European campaign.
  20. LETS US ALL PRAY that Hughes other strikers are of a much higher calibre than the lazy useless scouser that is Fanny Jeffers - enough said.
  21. dillo dillo, you'll have to visit the boot room in the Aqueduct pub were you'll see the Ewood blues pictures and other Rovers related items such as ...two picture frames containing every Rovers player who has ever played premeirship football for the club. To find the room as you walk through the main door of the Aqueduct pub turn left immediately and after two steps you'll enter another bar area then have a look at the walls if its not to full.
  22. To me do the Rovers people really sell themselves well enough ? What would Alan Sugar think of their abilities to promote the club and entice supporters, I'm sure he'd have plenty to say. Continually just keep putting out promo's, to me, looks like, its an outsider trying to promote Rovers without actually having any hands on local knowledge of local feeling. This to me is a massive problem, locals see it as someone earning big bucks to get some more money out of them through some sort blind loyalty to the team as qouted by waggy. Mark Hughes and his team have re invented the Rovers first team now the business side has to be reinvented. The whole selling team at Rovers from the ticket office upwards should be dis mantled and reorganised with a new team formed along with re investment in their facilities. Ticket office staff the front of Rovers to the public how good are they, to me they seem polite and friendly but their knowledge of whats going on and making effective decisions at times seems very poor. On a positive note though, how good was the publicity brought by Jack Straw and the US secretary of state on their visit to Ewood Park, you couldnt put a value on that as Condeleeza Rices Rovers shirt was beamed around the world.
  23. Went to Sunderland via car, parked in a office/industrial estate similar to the office blocks around Salford keys/Preston docks which was about ten minutes bus drive away from the ground - couldnt believe that Sunderland FC with the local bus company provide free... thats FREE park and ride scheme to and from the ground. What an excellent facility this was for all football fans .....surely this is something Rovers should be looking into around the service station area. Back to the game, Tugay was utter utter garbage and nearly cost us on more than one occassion for all the Tugay fans out there. Yes, we did miss Savage. Paul Dickov and Shefki Kuqi might aswell have been playing for Sunderland so bad they were ....but our two centre halfs Nelsen and Zurab were supreme through out ...though Sunderland are very poor as waggy states, we were never in any trouble until Tugays backheader.
  24. Hughes should have a youngish positive attack minded team for the Sunderland game, one that will have plenty of energy that will waste Sunderland away. Hopefully players like Bellamy, Reid and Pedersen didnt burn thermselves out too much against Boro and their energy levels will once again be in evidence. The back four has to be more disciplined and try to prevent Sunderland having one chance at goal. A laid back, casual, Tugay returning doesnt inspire me at all, Bentley and Reid for me in the middle would like to see Dickov coming on for Pongolle sooner rather than later if Pongolle isnt doing the business though and hopefully another three points. Hopefully going to be there making plenty of noise.
  25. Waggy, Looks like the stay away fans are underachieving massively earning £300 a week whilst the Rovers players are deservedly earning and acheiving their 20k plus a week. Looks like an impossible situation that can't ever be addressed for our underacheiving stay away supporters, they sound like your stereo typical Dingles. Obviously those stay away fans are probably stuck in the sixties and seventies skills timewarp, Waggy.
