Actually I believe it's quite contrary regarding the optimism of this forum. This is one of very few places that actually believe Blackburn Rovers are a long standing force within English football and deserve to be in the top division challenging for European spots. BRFCS is probably the only place you'll see genuine optimism about a post venkys future of this club. There may be some pessimistic takes on things as they currently stand because people on here actually pay attention to what's happening within the wider world and looks at the history of what's happened over the last fourteen years and counting. What a lot of people see as pessimistic doom mongering is actually just being realistic and not having the memory of a goldfish. Maybe death spiral is a bit of an exaggeration but our form does have a tendency to tank from February onwards. Seeing just about every team around you, especially the ones that have actual ambition, strengthening during the January window and the club you play for deliberately sabotage or deliberately underfund any potential transfers (not outgoings of course) has to have a detrimental effect on the playing staff.

TBF you can say that about a lot of players in this league, that's why they're in this league and not the one above.

First of all they've never offered a cheap season ticket. Second, our own history proves this argument to be complete bollocks because when we did slash season ticket prices there was a massive uptake and the club actually made more money. I suppose when you're a lazy thieving lying piece of shit then everything is too hard.

Agreed away at Boro is shit. I want ust to get as far as possible in the competition. I want to win it. I don't see playing the likes of the red scum or Arsenal as a glamour tie. We played these teams twice a year at least until the venkys virus infestation happened so yes, it is small time.

Cantwell is excellent both on and off the ball. He's always back in the defence when we're under pressure, picking up the ball from deep and moving it forwards. Pears will never not be a liability. Decent shot stopper with good reactions but makes poor decisions time and time again. I'm still fucked off about him almost single handedly getting us relegated last season.

It will no doubt make it even less competitive and guarantee promotion for relegated teams.
