  1. Gary Flitcroft. I think the clubs philosophy back then was if anyone played well against us we would sign them. Think there was a fella Gary Croft aswell. That 1999 team was full of duds
  2. Rovers winning a game that's live on Sky would cause the Earth to be sucked into a black hole or at best warp the space-time conitnuum
  3. The perfect opportunity to win a game against a team badly struggling. So that will be a defeat coming up for us.
  4. he was poor last night but if we didn't have him we would be in a very low table position. If he leaves in Jan expect a freefall
  5. Getting worried now I must say. Another poor display and zero threat. No bodies in the box any time we are attacking. Just dull boring modern football overly concerned with possession. Give me a bit more rough and tumble exciting football with some shots on target. James McClean was like a 90s throwback for Wigan. Like Jason Wilcox going past his man and whipping balls in over and over. Its not the modern way but at least it gives you some hope. We never had the ball in the box all night.
  6. Will there be a DVD of this game available in the club shop at Christmas. I'd like to see this again.
  7. At least that's slightly better. Get BBD in the middle up front. Not out on the touchline where he can do f all
  8. This would make you long for the old fashioned 4-4-2. There seems to be no one up front. BBD is a bloody winger. Our XG = -1 million
  9. Do any of the players want to pass it forwards? Their first instinct seems to look backwards for a pass
  10. the passing has been poor. BBD has given it away cheaply about 4 times. Then there's everyone else...
  11. For all their dominance in our half I'd be slightly worried if I was a Wigan fan. How often does your side dominate but not take your chances then you get sucker punched. That being said our performance has been tame. All passing with no itent only to keep the ball in our half. Need a couple of older heads who are brave enough to try passing it forwards!
  12. Hate to be pedantic but the game is actually on the 11th not 10th as in the thread title
  13. I suppose they even themselves out. Newcastle were denied a blatant last minute penalty on 8 May when Hendry brought down Keith Gillespie. Hendry was loved and a great defender but he used to dive into rash tackles a lot. They say great defenders stay on their feet as they dont need to dive as they are always in the right positions a la Alan Hansen. My abiding memory of Hendry is two feet off the ground flying into last gasp attempts at defending. Please don't lynch my house🤣
