  1. Only half heard it but I think Talksport linked Diaz with Leeds.
  2. You should have said earlier, it was pointless even having the conversation.
  3. If you're only managing to give him an OK for last night, it's probably fair to say you've already made your mind up.
  4. Came off last night saying how well Pickering had played, but he can't be expected to play every game all season, we could do with some cover.
  5. Ah well, he's at Wigan now. Time to move on, the future looks bright.
  6. If they won't sign, they won't sign. As it is, it's looking like a good move anyway.
  7. Pickering was important as anyone tonight, probably won us the game with how he kept Bowler so quiet.
  8. They left under the new regime, they couldn't get them to sign a contract either.
  9. When Bowler is as ineffective as that, you know your left back has had a great game.
  10. I'm doing same as last time I went in league 1. End of m55 and head for the airport. As you approach the airport, there's a right turn, St Anne's Road. It leads right up to the ground, and there was free parking in the side streets. We drove right up to the ground then doubled back and parked as close as poss. It's a few years back obviously, but I'm doing the same and hope it's still as it was.
  11. Maybe, just maybe, losing out on Svdb is a handy conclusion for Rovers. Having secured the Hyam signing, which apparently came available since the deal with Liverpool was arranged, it could be that he's surplus to requirements now. If we chase another centre half I'd say we still wanted him. If not, I'd say it's a nice end to it, and keeps the peace with Liverpool.
  12. Brittain, Szmodics and Hyam, have replaced the Fun Boy 3. Van den Berg replaces Van Hecke on loan. Wharton and Morton to step in/up to replace Johnson and Davenport. Hopefully Brereton stays with Hirst(?) giving us options up front, replacing Khadra. We're getting to the point where the squad is ready to hopefully push on from last season.
  13. You could also argue that since Mowbray supposedly massively underachieved last season, after being 2nd at Christmas, that we should be coasting into the play offs at least this season. The cherry picking of "facts" in this argument is mad, I just wish people would leave it and look forward.
  14. Going back to the QPR game, when you're the only player trying to do something creative, and it doesn't come off, it looks like you're the only player losing the ball. He definitely gets the others playing, as he did yesterday, his absence has been overlooked.
  15. You can't on one hand blame the poor performance first half on Mowbray, then say that we were brilliant 2nd half due to the performances of Hedges and Wharton, 2 players here under Mowbray,it just doesn't add up. The transfer market and loan system are there to be used, there are no excuses needed, nor would Tomasson want them. That first half was down to the players and the manager, no excuses. With a few back from injury and a few new faces, we'll be looking stronger on Friday morning, hopefully.
  16. Three proper first team players left, the rest are just fluff. The loan players who left were always leaving, the word loan gives it away. Supposedly there's a healthy budget to recruit players and the loan market is open to the new regime, as it was last season. "it isn't a rebuild, it's a renovation",Tomasson's own words. The base is there, the recruitment side is there, the coaching side and facilities are there, including a brilliant academy, and supposedly the finances are there. Tomasson and Broughton don't have any excuses, nor would they want them.
  17. I agree, it seems obvious that the best chance of signing the quality we need will come in the last week. I don't know why people who don't know what is going on behind the scenes, automatically assume it's going badly. Let's judge him a week on Thursday.
  18. It's a long, long season, we need quality players in, not players for the sake of it. There will be quality available at the end of the window, Broughton eluded to it himself when he said he would comment after the window closes, only then can we judge him.
  19. Maybe keep an eye open for a Ryan Hedges clone, the last 2 performances can't just be coincidence. As for Broughton, it's a long long season , judge him a week on Monday.
  20. Fulham and Bournemouth were stronger than anything in the Championship this season, it's a lot more even this time around with those two gone. We're definitely capable of getting a result on Saturday, Gallagher is vital at both ends of the pitch.
  21. I heard an interview earlier, on radio Lancs, when he described it as "a journey". Pick the bones out of that one.
  22. No, that isn't what I meant. Don't tell me Reading have a deeper squad than we have. I'm sure Tomasson will be considering that to leave both out at once was probably a mistake, he is allowed to make one or two.
