  1. I've no idea. How do you know it's £6 million?
  2. It's a good idea because the club and player agree the fee between them, therefore any sale SHOULD suit both parties.
  3. What I would say is that if, as reported, the club negotiated a release clause anywhere near that when he extended his contract, it's a good job they did. If he hadn't extended and a clause inserted , we would most certainly be over a much bigger barrel now after the season he had. It's also a case of how high a release clause Szmodics and his reps would agree to.
  4. I might yet be proven wrong, but I just can't see us signing one. Whether I'm comfortable with it or not is a different matter. I'd certainly be more comfortable with it than a lot on here. I think he's adequate, and being young for a keeper means there's room for improvement, look at Steele. I said weeks ago that if he starts as first choice it will be because Eustace wants him, same as Tomasson wanted him as first choice. A few had trouble accepting Tomasson's decision, no doubt we'll see the same happen again if we don't sign anybody.
  5. I've never thought we'd sign one, certainly not first choice.
  6. Pitch is sorted, lovely last season. All of a sudden we're at 4
  7. Maybe lower your sights a bit, start at 3.
  8. One of their fans told me last week that it's a good time to play them. Apparently they're in turmoil. I didn't even bother giving the obvious answer.
  9. Yeah, enjoyed watching him at Stanley. Direct is a good description, as he was today.
  10. Thought you'd have highlighted Siggurdson first, I thought he'd gone off.
  11. I'm not ignoring the concept of luck, drawing an easier group is lucky. The rest is determined through results of each team.
  12. Look, we'll call a truce. Being drawn a relatively easy group could be seen as lucky, although we weren't on our own. From there on in, results decided the path of England and all the others. If you want to call it lucky or not is up to you.
  13. Yeah, one group saying England's path was determined by their results and the results of others, and the other group adamant it's whether Southgate walked under a ladder. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  14. The way the fixtures(it wasn't a "draw") opened up or not, was down to results, not being drawn out of a bag. France weren't unlucky to be in the other half of the draw, they simply didn't do their job.
  15. I realise that, but as I say, I'd rather sign 3 of quality than a good few stocking fillers.
  16. To be honest, i hadn't seen your comment, it was just a general view. I'd rather we signed 3 with the pedigree of Cooper, than 6 or 7 squad fillers, we've enough of those.
  17. Apparently England were on the easy side of the "draw" after the group games had finished. I must have missed that "draw", the only one I can remember is the one before the tournament started, the one that had us scheduled to meet France in the semis. Apparently it was all down to "luck" that England did their job and won their group, and France cocked up and finished 2nd and ended up in the other half. Nothing to do with results.
  18. We've had complaints that we're the only club not to sign anybody. Now we've got some turning their nose up at signing Cooper.
  19. When it happens, I believe it, and not before.
