  1. That had won 2 in how long? Tomasson's last 11 games brought 2 points, since he left it's 8 from 8 games. Maybe not a bounce, but at least there's a bit of air back in it. We were going down under Tomasson, but at least we knew about the bus.
  2. I agree with everything you say, although we should have been 2 up and cruising before Plymouth got on top. Been flicking through the match day thread since I got back, and it would appear that if Eustace does actually keep us up after the bollocks he inherited, he will probably deserve a knighthood.
  3. Plymouth had missed one chance at that point , their number 9 put the one on one wide. Shortly after, Siggurdson missed the sitter of all sitters. What would have happened if he hadn't missed that then we'll never know, but they had only had that one chance up until then.
  4. We shouldn't, we should have been 2 up and cruising.
  5. We've come back from a goal down in 3 of the last 4 matches, it's the one thing giving me a bit more confidence we can stay up.
  6. We were lucky last night, our only real chance came when their defence played Siggurdson in. It's definitely going to be a back 5, maybe Ayari might be able to unlock the Plymouth back 11. It's going to be another war of attrition, although we at least don't look as vulnerable from set pieces. It won't be pretty.
  7. I'm not praising anybody, just pointing out a couple of positives, in my view. I don't really care if he leaves tomorrow, or if they all leave tomorrow, gone are the days of pinning colours to the mast for any manager or player, they don't exist any more. I don't think I've criticised Tomasson on here before, it was a reaction to some criticising Eustace after 2 minutes when he's picked up the baton from the mess that was left behind. Honestly, if I've hurt your feelings I apologise, but don't be worrying about Tomasson because just like all the others, he's moved on and he doesn't care. Here's hoping Eustace or whoever is in charge by Saturday gets a win.
  8. October?? bloodyell.
  9. Draws have been off the cards for over a year from a goal down. It's the one major positive in his favour so far, that and we look a lot more secure defending set pieces, plus we've scored from 2 under him. Not massive positives, but definitely positives from the last bloke.
  10. It was like Tomasson never left, except we came back from a goal down. That's 3 times under Eustace, it is the one major positive since he came in.
  11. He's been dealt a shit hand by the last knob. Give him a chance, at least we're not out of a game when we go a goal down, we haven't been able to say that for a year or more.
  12. At least the white flag doesn't go up under this manager, unlike the last one. That's 3 times already we've come back to earn a draw. At least his team has shown some balls. I think Tomasson's pissing about towards the end did untold damage to the squad, the ridiculous loaning of Travis to Ipswich was as stupid and childish as it was baffling. I'm sticking right behind Eustace, he's been handed a huge job to keep us up.
  13. Absolutely, there is a real success story. Different at Burnley, yes they did well last season but it's difficult to see any manager not thinking they were on to a winner under those circumstances.
  14. Last season Kompany inherited an experienced core of a Premier league squad, and then spent £30 million on top. Teams set up against them not to lose. This season, despite spending £100 million, he's come up against better teams who go into games with Burnley licking their lips and expecting to win. Rocket science it isn't.
  15. At least under Eustace we seem to still be in a game when we go behind, that's a definite improvement on the Tomasson white flag approach. Also, looking at the more positive aspects, we seem better at set pieces at both ends. At the Newcastle game in particular, the defending at set pieces was good, got to admit I was fearing the worst with the size of the Newcastle team and the quality of delivery, but we coped admirably. We've also scored 2 set piece goals already under Eustace.
  16. He was poor today, although you couldn't fault his workrate. He deservedly won man of the match against Stoke and was certainly as good as anyone at Preston, neither of those performances were bafflingly bad. He was also anonymous against Newcastle before he went off. I don't know why fans throw all of a player's performances into one pot, rather than judging them on an individual basis.
  17. Wasn't particularly putting them in position, they're allowed to move around a bit, but Gallagher would certainly be in anyone's 11 obviously
  18. Pears Jrc, Carter, Hyam, Wharton, Pickering Tronstad, Buckley Gallagher, Szmodics, Dolan
  19. Hyam been OK to be fair, but the squad is massively propped up with the players who were already here when Broughton and Tomasson came in. The strongest 11 still would have at least 8 players who they inherited, it's a massive problem.
  20. Hopefully the gravity of the situation may actually sink in a few thick heads, we've been playing as if we were safe for weeks now. Tomasson's smartarsery hasn't helped one bit. I'm thinking we could well see a reaction on Tuesday, one look at the table should be all it needs. We really do need Tronstad back ASAP.
  21. Know exactly what you mean, it is a fine balancing act.
  22. If I wrote down our strongest 11, there would be 8 players in it who were already here when Broughton came, and that's despite Wharton and Travis leaving. The head of non recruitment would be a more apt title.
  23. He rested Hedges against Cardiff and the inevitable happened on Saturday. I'll be there and I'm hoping he goes with a strong team, I'd say getting a good result/performance tomorrow night would be more beneficial going into the Swansea game than resting players and accepting defeat.
