  1. Overriding emotion is one of pride in the team. They play for the shirt and that comes from the manager. Any criticism or talk of 'shared blame' is just cliched, meaningless nonsense. The team has progressed massively since the turn of the year, just as JDT promised it would. Unfortunately, the manager has been let down. Badly. IMO Broughton should be sacked. To fail to sign not one but two players because your team couldn't send of the relevant documents on time is an absolute embarrassment. Broughton's failure to bring in a decent striker in not one but two window has cost us a place in the Play-Offs and potentially £150m. Hopefully, JDT sticks around beyond the summer. We are 3 forwards short of a very good team.
  2. Strange they weren't given the whole away end. They should have said something.
  3. Four Rovers players survive from the the team at Turf Moor in November: Hyam, Hedges, Brereton, Travis
  4. It won't be easy playing without a front 3.
  5. I expect us lose, so we just might win. But now I know I expect us to lose, and for that reason acknowledge we just might win, I now expect us to lose again.
  6. I think Dack might interject.
  7. Swag's remit is to bring in a quantum of cash, not fill the ground. Get behind the balance sheet FFS!
  8. No, it's based on current form and realistic expectations.
  9. I think 'people' know it's in our hands. I think the expectation is that it won't be in about 4 days time because 'people' aren't confident we'll beat Coventry...or anybody. I'm an optimist when it comes to Rovers in the main....but I think we've hit a very bad patch at the worst possible time.
  10. We've won 1 in 6, and haven't scored in 3 of the last 4. The PO's were there for the taking. AGAIN. I'm sure you can understand why there's a bit of frustration?
  11. I hope they turn up again in this sexy little number, and that we harness the spirit of the 1980 (?) FA Cup giant killing at Ewood. 'Where's me washboard'?
  12. Pay it no mind. The Crazies always come out when the results dip.
  13. He's better, got a good left foot....but it was said more in the context of what they contribute. The front four are supposed to create and score goals. Thy aren't very good at it at the moment. Hedges is L1/bottom end Championship player.
  14. The same as it did last year, that they aren't good enough.
  15. JDT after the match: “I think if you look at the game, we did enough to win it but we lost quality in our finishing. We took too many touches instead of just shooting at the goal. The decision-making in the last third (was poor)"
  16. LT from a few days ago: And the head coach says that the 29-year-old will also miss the game with Hull City on Saturday, though the hope is that he will return to training on Friday so to be able to feature against Coventry City next Wednesday.
  17. You said we had 'no excuse' for finishing below Sunderland and Coventry but you want to pull me on a 'lazy cliche'. The irony! 🙂 I just don't think the attacking players are good enough. I also don't think they suit the way JDT wants to play. I also don't think JDT is blameless, but I do think he's done a lot in a short space of time. 'failure' is also subjective. We've never been out of the top 8 all season. Is finishing 8th after being 2nd for a couple of weeks failure? A massive disappointment, yes, but failure? Seems harsh considering what he's had to contend with in January. The failure to sign a striker has killed us. It's his first season in a league and country he doesn't really know and I think the club is making progress. He wants to play in a specific way and at the moment it's very hit and miss. I expect us to improve again next season. I never used to think that under Mowbray.
  18. As is Hedges. Szmodics has done ok. I'm amazed we're 6th given the options up front.
  19. Never heard of him but he's out of contract in the summer and off somewhere. Us or Rangers maybe? Marcus Coco on Rangers transfer hitlist as Nantes man insists decision time is approaching (msn.com)
  20. Re Sunderland - Clarke, Diallo, Gelhardt, Roberts - all quality forwards. S'land scored 4 against Hull 2 weeks ago. As for JDT, it's just manager spiel to take the pressure off the younger players. It does grate though, Mowbray came out with the same stuff. I suppose it depends if it matters. He has got lots of excuses if he really wanted to use them - the failure of the January transfer market and the failure to bring in a striker.
  21. I can't remember either. Can't remember our Centre Halves smashing in many headers off corners. Probably because it hasn't happened! Our corners, and set-pieces in general, are shite.
