  1. But you'll be paid 600k a year and never be sacked no matter what.......
  2. Gestede is naive and ill informed of the true facts his interviews smack of a desperation to look good in the owners eyes not the fans. I still see them at some point sticking in 5/6 mill or so to underwrite the losses when needed in fact they've little choice but to do so. If that's in 6 months they've still saved tens of millions in recent times due to player sales so they'll be reasonably happy about that and not having to match a 20 million injection with a matching bond or pay 20% tax on it. How it goes in future when there are no Whartons to sell is anybody's guess.
  3. Has there ever been a gimme where Blackburn Rovers are concerned 🤣
  4. He said the owners a putting money in now when asked are they putting money in now He said STs are the same as pre covid when asked have they put season tickets up. He said 'what is down' when it was pointed out to him the slide since Venkys took over. Need i go on ? As iv'e said repeatedly we all already know the clubs plans re development and sell the rather obvious examples in the last 2 years that have ruined a real promotion chance pre dated Gestedes sideshow. Waggot told us all this in the bus interview a couple of summers ago.
  5. Thing is when games are shown around the world their logo is flashed around and no doubt the odd comment dropped in about very wealthy family invested 300 million etc. I doubt much foreign and edited highlights around the world touch much on fan sentiment and the language barrier will cover over anything emitting from the stands. Ok it isn't the Prem but the Championship is a well known and growing brand and if advertising wasn't still part of their ideology in owning the club the logo wouldn't be splashed everywhere. They personally keep an invisible profile but their Venky brand doesn't, it's everywhere and how else would you flash it across the world.
  6. Grow up it was you who started the replies to me you're welcome to your opinion i don't need to ignore anyone but untwist your underwear when people don't agree and say so. We don't know what will happen in summer perhaps hes been told there'll be investment hence his cocksure attitude then he can turn around a give us the middle finger 'i told you so'. Time will tell if he's just another patsy swallowing the line hes fed from upstairs or they'll actually let him invest. Either way the 2 stooges have sat back and let him become a new target due to his lack of diplomatic skills and they could have stopped that at any moment.
  7. Nobody has ever said it's Gestede dictating that policy so cut your 'common sense' arrogance. We are going around in circles when the main point trying to be made is why they are allowing him to run around having constant barbed digs at the fanbase, or in fact the businesses main customers. It's either by design or hes gone rogue but your point about they won't be happy about it doesn't make any sense, common ounces or otherwise, because he'd have been gagged or told tone it down immediately. Unless of course in his own arrogance he doesn't care because he just wants to protect his paymasters. But i'll say again in any event someone feels a head needs to serving it will be his and hes been allowed the rope.
  8. Anyone with an ounce of nous would happily serve someone else up to protect their own position. I'm not sure what point is being missed here but for the benefit of doubt we've had Paul Agnew, Paul Senior, Gregg Broughton and now Gestede in similar fancy named positions yet the henchmen survives and he has a willing partner these days in Waggot. If a head rolls it won't be theirs it'll be the latest installed crash test dummy.
  9. We know the model now we've known it for 2 years hes told nothing everyone didn't already know. We know ultimately who is to blame why do you think the recent protests surfaced directed towards the two and the owners. It wasn't directed towards the HoF but now he's been placed or positioned himself there in front of house and has stopped the other two being rooted out briefly because he's doing the interview rounds, answering the questions and speaking on behalf of the whole club. I'm sure the gruesome twosome are quite happy about that.
  10. Of course he's taking the heat off the other two he's now been shunted into the spotlight when they had nowhere else to hide. He's becoming the target for the questions and shielding them from the anger just the same as fans were beginning to turn on the new coach and even some players after starting off hurling abuse towards the directors box and India.
  11. I think and board of directors, club execs or even their PR people would watch one interview in this scenario and then say pull him quick, no more. Then politely say Rudy Gestede is now concentrating on contracts and the summer recruitment so he won't be available to speak for a while so any communication will come from the CEO and COO. Not these lot though it seems they are sitting back watching car crash after car crash. 2 scenarios for me.... he's taking the heat right off them useful idiot style or perhaps worse because he's an arrogant clever dick he's saying out loud what they say behind closed doors but are too scared to say in public. In which case he'll probably get a pay rise.
  12. There are examples all over the Championship but here they suddenly think they've stumbled on a radical plan that will miraculously work despite never working anywhere for more than a season or two at most. It's a sure fire path to disaster without extra significant financial backing.
  13. Oh it's ok Gestede has been telling everyone - courtesy of Suhail - that ST's have been pegged back to pre covid prices and the owners are still putting money. He's either an idiot or he's gaslighting on purpose.
  14. It's costing them less over the last few years and maybe nothing in coming years yet their logo is still flashed across tv screens twice a week. They still get an incredible amount of exposure even from Championship Rovers so that counts for something and they still own a historic piece of English sporting heritage. I'm sure if one or more wanted to move here - maybe they already have lower down the family rankings - then it might help. To them it's just like owning an old vintage classic you only get out and drive once in a while, rest of the time it's just parked in the company accounts garage but you can still show it off to your mates.
  15. Yes Broughton wanted the youth pathway, to find players to develop AND invest in quality were we could with the project being build for a Prem push over a few seasons. Debatable whether he was capable but the money invested when he was here was good, the players to develop were terrible however those he wanted to invest a bit more in, that got pulled, where decent on paper. Think he signed his own p45 once he laid out what they should do with the Wharton money.
  16. Yep Rudy is just a cheaper yes man version of GB and his job title is a bit of a farce as pointed out on that podcast. 'Your role is too big' he should be concentrating only on the football with the head coach and those above him but it's a jack of all trades master of non role. A typical Venky money saving crackpot appointment and he'll find he isn't head of anything when he is constantly overruled or sent to inspect the kitchens and sign off the pie delivery whilst Swaghail ring around looking for 1 year deals of injury prone players.
  17. Might get one or two more of the foreign former players speaking up but only those based back abroad with no intention of seeking work over here. Otherwise English football is a closed shop. Big Sam has had numerous digs but declined opportunity to go both barrels and he was shafted by them. By far the most vocal have been Sutton and Shearer but they don't go the whole hog because at the end of the day we aren't Newcastle or Norwich, their clubs.
  18. Think they will this time but by the sounds of it they'll move right away from any real experience in future in favour of kids, kid loans and small fee Yuki, Gueye types to make small profits on. The very system that nearly got us relegated before Eustace restored some normality to the squad but never mind we might get the long awaited cheap season tickets when they drop us a division again.
  19. A few years ago it was Gegg Broughton spouting the same great reset and project shite whilst providing the perfect shield for Swaghail and the ownership. Difference is he did it in a far more affable, professional and respectful manner than this latest puppet until he realised as Director of Football he wasn't actually allowed to direct anything, so then he said nothing until his head was served up for all the gaffs. So now they've just managed to bring in a cheaper far less experienced version who is no doubt far more adhered to their script and won't go rouge like Gregg did in pursuit of Mcguire. No point getting too worked up because in a year or twos time there'll be another one wheeled out spouting the same crap when Rudy has either moved on or been sacrificed.
  20. Always seemed a bit of reluctance to play him from the bald rat, must've been on massive appearance wonga or something. Should have been our second tier version of Roque because he certainly still had quality.
  21. I think Allardyce was having a pretty good hint early on as to why the club wasn't learning season after season that you have to invest when you are in a position to go up. Rudy's dumb answer was basically oh well that wasn't the plan. Big Sam was more or less saying i'd be pushing the owners for investment in Jan so why aren't you/your mates doing so ?
  22. And all that would be far more acceptable and understandable if it was being done with less wealthy hands on ownership who had an interest in and cared about the club and fans. People who have no choice but to run it like that but are genuinely following a long term plan to try for the Prem or seek extra investment to do so. Non of which applies to this lot, the ownership and fans are back to just providing a platform for a set of individuals to profit from the club whilst feeding their own egos and ambitions regardless of where we end up.
  23. Eustace wanted experience and a bit of quality to help push for promotion and obviously prevent the previous seasons near relegation happening again. Which was caused in part by filling the squad with kids and bringing in poor cheap back up players to develop who offered nothing when called upon. So what do the 'powers' inside the club do ? Give him a few token signings then insist on the 30% youth pathway being re-implemented to which Eustace obviously wasn't onboard. So that was probably the beginning of the end for him as he wouldn't comply to the Suhail cheapo project. Rudy has let the cat out the bag there quietly if you listen closely to that interview then he says they wanted someone for the 'project' long term, so they hire a guy with more clubs than Rory under his belt. Grow another team over a few seasons, sell it, pay down borrowings and % for snouts in the trough and go again, their gravy train continues whilst fans are expected to pay towards it yet expect nothing but having a team on the pitch.
  24. When Rovers were a really potless outfit in the 80's they were known throughout the game for the top notch Northern hospitality and boardroom spread that put many bigger clubs to shame. They also managed to produce a matchday programme regularly voted the best in the league. Now under these people the programmes were completely ditched a few years ago and the hospitality for visiting press is virtually non existent. As pointed out it quite rightly sums up the whole operation and embarrassing it's pointed out on a podcast.
