  1. We are incapable of keeping clean sheets. Puts so much pressure on the forwards knowing we need to score 2,3 or 4 a game to have a chance of winning. Lenihan needs a break when Ayala is fit
  2. Get in. He needed that after a few good performances without a goal. If he can get enough confidence to be a semi regular goal scorer, that would be a massive boost.
  3. The defensive side of this team is a million miles away from being top 6 worthy. Admittedly weve got a vast unabailable list but weve conceeded far too many for far too many seasons. It feels as if every attack against us is a goal atm. Some is down to crap players but a lot needs to lie with the coaching team. Nice to watch, massive soft touch.
  4. Expecting a tight and cagey game. The majority of posts on the reading forums (I dont normally look at opponents forums!) would be happy with a draw. I think their management would say the same. 1 goal in it at most i think. Fancy Dolan to come on with 15 mins left and cause some trouble to tired legs. 1-0 Armstrong with a Dolan won penalty.
  5. The rovers insta page had a matchday post with a photo of rothwell as the player. Would be weird to promote the game with a player whos not in the squad. Edit just had another look and theres no sign of it! it definately came up on my feed!
  6. Cant knock recent results but you look at that starting line up and this weird defensive formation hes gone back to and cant help but think were no where near fielding our best team or best system. The bench would beat the starting line up. Not sure what hes aiming for at the moment. He found an exciting winning system and appears to have abandoned it.
  7. Unfortunately as i expected Southgate over thinking and leaving a winning formula. 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders in the starting line up. Sigh
  8. At the time of writing it was a turgid 0-0 with wales dominating the ball. The games pre covid were some of the best ive seen from england with a 4-3-3. So much movement up front and an energetic midfield. A bit Liverpool like. Hoping the last few games have been experimenting with plan Bs and Cs and well revert back for the bigger games. Belgium would have put the game out of reach after that first half hour vs wales. A win is a win though and a clean sheet.
  9. Woth some of the best forward players in the world and playing some pretty good stuff with a 4-3-3 over the last 12 months cant get my head around why Southgate seens to have gone back to this crap 3-5-2 formation. Terrible to watch and dont even think the players enjoy it. Mogga esque
  10. Not sure what the aim was yesterday. Looking at the workman like line up before the game i expected a disjointed game and thats how it panned out. As you say I dont think 3 at the back works for England. We struggle to retain possession and it takes so much away from our front line. Lack of match fitness has played a part over the last two games but not sure what the plan was yesterday with 7 or 8 defensive players in the starting line up. Waiting until 75 minutes to bring Grealish on was strange. 15 mins of game time over the two matches...Southgate obviously isn't sure about him. Hopefully it was an experiment rather than a plan for the future.
  11. Good lord there are some shockers in there. Shows how far we have fallen since our heyday. Paul Caddis...I forgot we ever signed him. he was fatter than me.
  12. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11706/12057091/eberechi-eze-crystal-palace-sign-forward-from-qpr Palace sign QPR forward for £20m. He scored 14 goals for QPR last year in 46 games. Not sure of his age or exact position but surely Armstrong would be worth more than the £10m that's been banded around going off that..
  13. Blackburn Rovers 0 Blackburn 2. Only we could beat ourselves haha
  14. Don't really care. Apart from 2 or 3 they are all bang average journeymen including Mowbray. Hopefully hell try some new faces from the start (Davenport, Buckley, Chapman, anyone from U23s) Probably a 1-1
  15. Thats the worst first half (or best depending your view) from a side ive ever seen. 7-0 at half time! Have wigan won every game since lockdown? certainly a team to avoid atm
  16. As I said in the Tony Mowbray thread, goes to show a young ambitious guy whilst has its risks can breathe some life into the club. The Mowbray thread reads as if you have to be over 60 years old to be considered.
  17. It wont happen but we need to go back to basics. Fresh blood, players in their best position and see what happens. We all know isnt the Tony Way however. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Downing Travis Davenport Chapman Buckley Armstrong Gallagher
  18. 10 games with Dack back and a bit of summer trading? His summer trading in the last 2 years/5 windows has been a disaster! How much more money can we afford to give him to spend on players to shoehorn into positions they are'nt capable of playing. Personally id have him out before this season is out. Let a new manager have a few games to look at our squad and a summer transfer window to try and shape it. Why do we also think the only managers available are free agents. As with a player we can look to purchase an up and coming manager currently at a club. We will still be an attractive outfit to an ambitious L1/2 or foreign coach. I dont think I could cope with another summer of Brereton and Gallagher esque signings.
  19. David Dunn odds on favourite for the Barrow job. Id take him to replace Mowbray...he might be awful but id take the risk at the moment. A blackburn lad in charge with an experienced no 2. Ill keep dreaming...
  20. Since promotion from L1 Mowbray has been dog turd. Muddled with no plan and absolutely shocking in the transfer market. The club is desperate for him to leave. Dunno whats worse the 12m clueless strikers or selling a home grown talented GK on the cheap without a replacement in mind. We need to kick up a fuss somehow
  21. That defeat ultimately rests on Mowbray. By championship standards hes had plenty to spend over the last 3 years and used it very poorly. Armstrong and Dack aside i cant recall any good signings. £10m plus of strikers starting today and 4 goals between them. Our best players are academy. Never mind the loyalty he shows to absolute dog awful players. We need to move him on over the summer (autumn) break. Will be stagnant for years under him.
  22. Haha, I'd almost forgotten how ridiculous his senile ramblings were. Getting embarrased 6-0 and run ragged by a much better side is just what I wanted.
  23. They should get the whole squad to control their fifa equivalent and have a match. Might be Breretons only chance to get some goals this year!
  24. Haha was anyone playing or was it simulated to let fifa decide?
  25. The thought of bennett keeping his place at RB makes me feel ill! Not only is he absolute garbage these days, it also removed one of our main attacking threats by putting Nyambe at CB. Id rather have a dodgy CB for a game than Bennett. Haven't Travis and Rankin Costello both played right back a lot for the U23s? Walton Nyambe Tosin Mulgrew Bell Travis Johnson JRC Rothwell Armstrong Gallagher
