Brentford (A) - 12:30pm KO (Sat 22nd Feb 2020)
benhben replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This is a big footballing test against a good side. They blow a bit hot and cold but on their day can beat anyone in the league. Much bigger test than the last few games. My head is saying we should play a bit more conservatively and be solid, however I don't think this mentality suits us (even though Mowbray can resist). I think were better off going for it toe to toe, taking the risk of conceeding a few in the process. Downing an Same team as last game. -
Get in. 2-0! Just putting it out there....are we playing better football since Dack got injured? Still have him back tomorrow though!
-
I think last night sums up why we need to move on from Bennett and Graham. Graham doesn't have the legs anymore and Bennett is utterly dogshit. Theres a myth that he puts himself about and makes us more solid. Even Brereton in 20 mins made more runs than Bennett did in 70. 0-0 when they were on, 3-0 after they went off. Proof enough. Away from home id go for more pace and make them cautious about pushing high up the pitch. Id even play Samuel after his goal. At least he tries to run in behind. Think playing Graham and Bennett with no Dack just invites us to sit deep and have no outlet. Basically the lads that won the game v hull deserve another chance.....even big Ben Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Bell Armstrong Travis Johnson Downing Brereton Samuel
-
Bennett on 0-0. Bennett off 3-0. Just sayin... Good result given the players missing. think we looked alright with a straight 442. Armstrong or Travis mom for me. Poor old Ben cant buy a goal. Keeper passes it to him inside the penalty area and it still bounces off his shins and gets tackled.
-
Armstrong smash!!! him Travis and Nyambe have been good. Breretons touch is horrific but the fact him and samuel actually run has made a big defference
-
Why is Downing right and bennett left?
-
Neither team look like creating much. Low quality game. Anyone decent would beat Hull. Would have been a good game for Holtby. Johnson just hoofs it long every time
-
Boring Mowbray team. Mowbray favourite Bennet and downing out wide. Can see some exciting stuff this game..............
-
The injuries mean we should be changing the formation to suit the players available...we all know this wont happen though. Id also be brave and play what ball players we have over the scrappers. Again Tony wont agree. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Downing Chapman Travis Davenport Armstrong Gallagher Graham In reality Bennett will be back in on the wing alongside and Johnson in the middle. Bore fest.

Notice Reuben Rochina scored for Levante against Barcelona yesterday. Seems to have done ok for himself since leaving here. -
Chapman just posted a video on Instagram of him watching tv with two inflated leg braces or something on. Presume hes managing some sort of issue.
-
Those injuries sound really horrific. "His eye socket was shattered. You could see that when he went past on the stretcher" ? Wish him well. Will be a very long spell on the sidelines, with I'm sure even longer mental scars.

The Godlike Genius of Charlie Mulgrew

Saw this on instagram too. Going off the instagram comments, the views amongst many Rovers fans does not mirror the general consensus on this forum. Either were all miserable old sods or a large proportion of fans don't pay that much attention to real life. Many of them think hes going to guarantee us regular goals.. -
January transfer window 2020

I wish Mowbray would piss off with the new players need to bide their time and get used to the way we play. What way is that....fucking shit? Hes used that excuse over and over to justify playing his dressing room favourites over better players. -
Massive clown. Has the man management skills of David Brent. On another note; I had a really vivid dream last night. We lost 8-2 against Preston following which Mowbray walked......maybe its a premonition?
-
Ughh. When you look back there are some sickening comments made by Mowbray. Theres so much crap coming from him you forget the past howlers. This is as bad as anything would have said.
-
The fans need to make it clear they've lost faith. Until theres largescale unrest from the crowd nothing will happen.
-
I reckon he could have us bottom of the league and still not be under any risk of the sack. Who on the board is A. bothering watching the games to know and, B. willing to sack the bloke that recommended the club sign them. Keanesque scam
-
Wow. Shambles.
-
Surprised they didn't give Gallagher the pen seeing he won it and is desperate for a goal. Brereton really is awful. Hooked on 50 mins of an FA cup third round game. He has zero potential. Come on Chapman. Make TM take notice!
-
What does his pace look like? Still fast of have the hamstring issues taken a yard off?
-
Some other interesting points I took from that.. First regarding Chapman: “I think initially it’s because of the numbers we’ve got but it’s an opportunity for him to try and do enough to make sure that as people come back he stays on the bench,” Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph. “It’s down to him really. I thought he did alright. We need end product from our wide players.” Great motivation, basically being told you will only ever make the bench. And the other wide players are creating loads of chances? Id be off if I was him. Obviously never going to get much game time while TM is here. Secondly regarding Rothwell, “I’ve been showing him an example of (Bryan) Mbeumo at Brentford, 10 goals and five assists. “Joe has no goals and no assists. Pretty damning and also true. Whilst he may excite at times, you cant argue Rothwell needs to do more .
-
Due to a lack of input from the owners and a board that Mowbray pretty much appointed as mates...Mowbray isn't getting sacked whatever the results are. As you say the only way is when TM decides he cant be arsed. The lack of pressure from above is probably why hes looks under no rush to arrest bad form
-
Has a history with the club and also would probably cost less if we can persuade Mowbray to go without a massive pay off
-
Let's hope with all fingers crossed that isn't true. If so it shows how diabolical the summer transfer business was. To be fair every window since we bought Dack has been awful.
