  1. Hope someone manages to take a Mowbray out banner which gets picked up on the cameras. His quotes are becoming Keane esque. Cant see us getting much. Preston are a decent team that has cost far less than ours. Their striker Barkhausen was signed from my local side Morecambe for hardly anything. Hes scored more this year than Brereton and Gallagher combined have managed across two seasons. Chances of Bauer scoring from a corner whilst keeping a clean sheet?
  2. Chapman has posted a bit of a cryptic instagram post today with a caption of just a thinking bubble. Get the impression hes sick of watching our 1st team being dog and still being no where near it.
  3. Really? I've not seen desire and commitment for many many games.
  4. 1 shot on target against a team that have lost 4 out of 5. Not good enough. It's not been good enough for 12 months. Poor transfers, worse tactics and player selection based on who's his mate. Needs to go. Doubt the venkys were even watching. Please dont turn into a Keane/Coyle scenario Were also in a situation where weve got a very promising youth side. TM is not the man to develop them.
  5. We need some Tony out banners to be visible at the next home game. Let them know it's time to go.
  6. We desperately need a win otherwise I can see a long hard season ahead. Thought Nyambe and Holtby were big upgrades on past sides v Huddersfield. Need to keep their places. Walton Nyambe Tosin Williams Downing Travis Johnson Holtby Dack Rothwell Armstrong
  7. Anyone played the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare? I think you could play a Beta if you pre order on the PS4 network. Any opinions so far?
  8. Why bring Evan's on to try and win a game? Mowbray is shit
  9. Under the cosh now. Bacuna is miles better than our forwards. Wonder how much he cost...
  10. Rankin Costello with two goals today against Palace u23s. Chapman with the other. Surely this lad should be knocking on the door for a first team appearance. Especially given the current injury problems. Chapman has also been in the goals recently. Cant be any worse than some of the currently 1st team. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/october/report-crystal-palace-pl-cup-a/
  11. Logged on to the LET website today to see a big photo of Mowbray above the main article. My heart had a little flutter for a moment, thinking this may be the headline saying hes been sacked....turned out it was just more of his senile dribble. sigh.
  12. Sadly I think this is exactly the case. In for a very hard period i think. Hope Nyambe comes back into the picture as his promising progress has come to an abrupt halt.
  13. There is zero chance Mowbway is going anywhere. Him and Waggot are best mates and Venkys probably take no interest in results. The only way he would leave is if for some strange reason he gets poached by a bigger club. Houghton or Johnson from that list! Both would be a big improvement.
  14. Anyone read Mowbrays latest interview with the LET? Some of his words just sum him up. Massively over thinking and over complicating everything to the point where the whole squad is either confused or has so many shackles added they don't perform. E.g referring to Lewis Travis having enough energy to be a good box to box midfielder: “If you give Lewis the licence to use his legs and athleticism and go box-to-box, break in to the opposition box and have a defensive-minded midfielder behind him then there’s no reason why not. “He can recover back in to midfield areas and help the midfield area function, but I think modern football in the 21st century has become more of a positional game “There are the two sitting midfielders, or one holding midfielder and two No.8s as they are called who play just behind the single striker and two wingers outside of them." WTF are you on about Tony? Play to your players strengths and keep it simple. If I was an up and coming youngster with bundles of energy and pace, he would be a terrible manager to play under. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17956213.midfield-goal-tally-matched-no-drastic-change-says-mowbray/
  15. I would say on paper with the players at each teams disposal we should beat them....our manager massively swings it in their favour however. Id try and go for our paciest possible team and hit them on the break rather than the slow boring easy to defend against tactics Melton Mowbray seems to enjoy. I am assuming cunningham is out. Walton Nyambe Tosin Lenihan Williams Travis Johnson Rothwell Dack Armstrong Gallagher
  16. if we swapped Mowbray with Johnson I'd put money on us finishing the season at least 10 points betteor off. Downing and Evan's as CM???
  17. Another game that is very winnable but well be held back by Mowbray rather than helped by him. Very much doubt we will see Rothwell or Holtby from the start. Wouldnt be surprised to see him bring Evans back in....most likely the same team that played forest. My team. Walton Tosin Lenihan Williams Nyambe Travis Cunningham Holtby Dack Rothwell Armstrong
  18. Home game against Luton is a chance to really go for it and give our attacking players some freedom without worrying too much about the opposition. Cue the next Mowbray interview he talks up the quality of the Luton side and how we need to be cautious and build a formation to stop them playing first. I would go for this although I expect the same side as last game. Walton Nyambe Lenihan Tosin Cunningham Rothwell Johnson Travis Dack Gallagher Armstrong Subs: Williams, Rankin Costello, Bennett, Holtby, Buckley, Graham, Leutwiler On a side note. Our bench looks much stronger now than it has for the last 4 or 5 years.
  19. Reading his comments in the LET about wanting to teach the ball boy about ethics, honour, integrity and personal values the ref probably did everyone a favour. He does come out with some nonsense does old Tony. Sounds like a decent performance. Good to see Gallagher get a goal. Hopefully he will kick on from this....and play more central.
  20. An example of whats wrong with the English game, allowing a 132 year old club to liquidate, with the possibility of another league co founder following suit. Huge gulf in prize money and TV revenue from the top league to the rest. The pointless fit and proper owner checks. Clubs spending vastly beyond their means to stay in touch with the hope of rising the football ladder. We currently owe Venkys about £120m. If they called that debt in we would likely follow the same path as Bolton. Shame.
  21. Thought Mowbrays post match interview comments reg Walton were interesting. He basically said there is more to Goalkeeping than just shop stopping. He wants a keeper to control his box, be brave and come for crosses. Basically saying everything he thought Raya didn't do..
  22. Not sure I buy into this. Watching Gallagher on the wing doesn't do anything for me. He looks awkward out wide and doesn't really have the skills to beat a full back one on one. Surely a pacey winger who can dribble and run in behind would be more effective at this? Hopefully we will see him getting into the box more when the ball is coming from the other flank. He needs to use his size to more effect. He does put a shift in though. Needs a goal for confidence. Had a great opportunity to go for goal at the back post but tried to head across goal to Dack. Sign of low confidence in front of goal. Armstrong frustrates. Has all the pace in the world but hardly uses it. Reminds me of a poor mans Walcott. Our centre midfield is much stronger than last year and generally bossed the game. Williams has been a bit of a revelation at CB. From a dogger of a full back to a seemingly very solid CB. I take my hat off to him following my criticism throughout most of his Rovers career. Another player I should eat some humble pie with is Downing. Thought he was a pointless signing, replacing Conway like for like. After watching him last night he is 2 or 3 levels above Conway and still looks to have plenty of energy.
  23. Our final ball is woeful. Hull are there for the taking if we could pass in the final third. Desperate need of some pace and trickery outside like Hull with Bowen and Grosiki
