  1. Manager and no one else. He has had numerous transfer windows and failed to sign anyone bar Dack that has improved us and without any plan or squad balance. Wasted £7m on a guy who is now behind Nuttall in the pecking order. Time to move on....id even like to see D. Johnson given the role until the end of season. Cant be any worse.
  2. At home against an awful side and we have a midfield 4 of reed Smallwood Evans and bennett. That's fecking boring and dour. I'd rather see our U23 side. At least they're entertaining. Not sure Mowbray will ever excite us.
  3. Same team as last game. Cant see any need to change. Think this will be a tough game. Can see a 1-1 or 2-2 draw. Armstrong to carry on his scoring run and Nuttall off the bench.
  4. I cant say I'm too upset we didnt break the bank to sign some of the names we were talking about last week. Yes they would make an immediate impact but the wages involved are obviously far an above our current wage structure. We have to be careful we dont go for broke only to miss out on promotion leaving a serious financial problem the year after. Weve seen it at other clubs. I am surporised we didnt push the boat out a little for an experienced loan signgning until the end of the season. At least that way the risk is only with us for 6 months. They may not have been available however. Agree with other comments that not spending on BB and putting all money into one high qulity signing earlier in the year would have been a better way to go by the looks of it. Wonder if TM has gone all cautious with funds having been stung by what hes seen with BB.
  5. Frank Lampards long lost blonde brother.
  6. Whilst Id love him to stay, if I put myself in his shoes...I'm 25 and have ambitions to make it in the premier league having never currently played there. Im off at the first offer from a prem team as the opportunity may never come again. One bad season or injury would see his stock fall. The ideal is if we get promoted with him.
  7. Where is it actually confirmed we are in for Assombalonga? I havent seen this anywhere.
  8. Was a cold October night and half of them were shirtless. They also spend a large proportion of the game turned the opposite way bouncing up and down. Was a great atmosphere.
  9. Hes signed a permanant deal so is now our player. There is absolutely no need to rush. He is our long term asset and must only play when hes been deemed to be 100% ready by the medical staff. I dont think we will see much of him until perhaps the closing stages of the season. If it was another loan Id have expected to see him sooner as theres less risk to us from another hamstring tear.
  10. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have him back providing the risk doesn't outweigh the cost. Having had hamstring trouble myself in the last few years I know how hard it is to full remove the issue. Mentally as much as physically. Saying that his treatment will far outweigh my amateur Saturday league treatment of a cold sponge.
  11. Has Chapman played many games at U23 level this year? Is he currently fit? Would love the original chapman back but just can't get over the fact his hamstring will be chronic issue throughout his career. A chapman without the pace isn't the chapman we knew.
  12. The way TM has got Rodwell performing deserves great credit. A player who 6 or 7 years ago was a top class premier league player but hasn't performed for a number of years. Brilliant man management to get the lads confidence and hunger back. Shows by how close the dressing room all appear. Players coming in on loan seemingky desperate to come back (chapman). Not many managers have that quality. For his sometimes dodgy tactics we can't forget about this skill.
  13. I said in the build up that I was worried TM would revert back to the cautious Smallwood Evans partnership and bennett and Conway on the wings. Fair play TM and the players. Sounds like our best performance for some time. Pleased to be proven completely wrong. How is Reed not in Southamptons team? Crazy Nice to see Armstrong chipping in with some goals at the moment.
  14. When did Wolves sign their Portuguese lot?
  15. Best - My first ever game at Ewood, about 10 years old, beating Nottingham Forest 7-0. Shearer got a hattrick and Le-Seaux hit a 30 yard screamer. What a first game! I also really enjoyed the last game last season v Oxford when we had the promotion party. Was great to feel the community supporting the club again. 27,000 fans. Local school kids parading round the pitch with flags. Worst. Probably either watching us on Sky losing to Wigan at home to confirm relegation from the prem. Went out without any fight or passion, and having to watch Steve Keans smug face at the end. Or same season when there was a 3 games for 20 quid deal or something, watching us get beat at home by WBA and Bolton. No passion, care or ability. Horrible atmosphere in the ground. Steve Kean in the dugout. Not a good place to be. Didnt bother going to the third game.
  16. One funny memory I have is whilst stood close to the pitch infront of the riverside I was watching the players warm up they were doing the standard shuttle runs between two sets of cones. Each time it was Tugays turn he would pick up the last cone and move it closer to the start. He also put no effort into running during the warm up. I remember laughing and him laughing at the crowd every time he did it. He then went on to completely dictate the game. Despite my first memories aged 4 or 5 of being a rovers fan being the Shearer and title winning days, Tugay has always been my faviorite.
  17. Got a friend who is a Hull season ticket holder and goes every home game. He says they can score for fun at the moment but have a dodgy defence and a crisis where they have no fit centre backs. There is no point playing conservative for this as it plays into their strengths. We need pace and energy and exploit their weakness in defence. As others have said earlier Smallwood, Evans and Williams are too slow, pedestrian and generally too shyte to deal with a pacey attacking side in form. I also would be loathed to break up the back line other than Nyambe for Bennett. Raya Nyambe Lenihan Rodwell Bell Reid Travis Rothwell Dack Armstrong Graham Subt. Leut. Mulgrew. Evans. Smallwood. Nuttall Bennett Conway + Sub thats not williams.
  18. Spotted him sat amongst the staff and subs during the newcastle home game. Thats as much as hes been seen since pre season. Still no idea if hes any good when fit or not.
  19. Fair dos! Welcome! ?
  20. This is a fair point. Whilst Bell does have many technical flaws, he does have a decent bit of pace and does try and get forward. For £300K he is probably as good if not better than I expected. To improve on him, the price will very quickly go up for each percent of ability increase. He is also better in most areas other than aerial than Williams who is garbage.
  21. Out of interest and nothing to do with this thread but why has a leeds fan racked up 185 posts on a Blackburn forum?? ??
  22. Disagree with this. Williams must be the worst player I've seen in a Rovers shirt since Lowe. I also said this all last season. Bell isnt good by any stretch but much better than Williams. Id look to replace both in summer. Important we win this to get over the newcastle game dissapointment. Hoping Reed is fit. Given Armstrong has found some form and scored a few goals lately I would keep him upfront even if it means moving Dack around a bit. Give Dack a free role off the left. We shouldnt be worrying about Ipswich at home and play how we want. Raya Nyambe Lenihan Rodwell Bell Travis Reed Rothwell Dack Graham Armstrong
  23. Not the championship but just watching Derby and Southampton. Their passing and pace is a level above what we produced last night....and Newcastle for that. A good benchmark of where we need to get to.
  24. I wouldnt be too worried if he had some raw physical attribute which was promising like great pace or strength, around which his technique could be moulded. What Ive seen so far is a young player with no standout ability or physical features. I cant see what part of his game can be built on to be a better player. He looks slow, skinny and weak to me without much technical ability. Hopefully his lack of performance is more due to a crisis in confidence which some time in the U23s would benefit. Nuttall, whilst being limited in ability looks stronger, faster and more of a useful player at this point.
  25. Andy Murray announcing he will likely retire this year due to a hip injury. The surgery earlier this year hasnt cured the problem to the extent it effects his mobility in normal life. He got some stick but I always liked Andy Murray. Gave everything for the cause. Goes to show while the money is something us normal folk can only dream of, being a professional athlete takes a massive tole on the body.
