I'm still absolutely fuming about this result. While it was inevitable that we would lose this game (and players who haven't scored for donkeys would score), it was the manner in which we meekly surrendered that p*ssed me off. Savage is a pretty limited footballer but he never gives up the ghost and would have harried their midfield all day. We allowed dangerous players like Benayoun and Reo-Coker time and space to play. Yes we dominated large swathes of possession but lacked any penetration whatsoever. When West Ham broke they looked dangerous.
Notwithstanding the shafting we received for the corner prior to the second goal, we deserved nothing from yesterday's game. Disappointingly, the home side looked like they wanted it more. Our weak opposition was exactly what they needed to pull themselves from the mire.
