To whoever was defending Venkys on this thread (site crashes if I try to click on quotes so I can't reply). Fair enough if Venkys want to cut our cloth accordingly. They are pumping money in but have FFP and whatever their issue with the Indian government is. It sounds like excuses to me but I'll suspend my disbelief for arguments sake.
However if they wanted to do it efficiently and sensibly why have Steve Waggott as our CEO who has made terrible decision after terrible decision in his time here? A man who hasn't prepped for the lack of money and instead allowed the appointment of staff more suited to a team vying for promotion?Because they are terrible terrible owners and it's always been the case. Venkys out.
Yes the VenkyMeter is showing thirteen years, and the ride isn't over yet. They've totally worn me out. Defeats make no impact on me any more. Venkys on the hoardings plastered all round the ground, Venkys on the shirts even now. Thirteen years of humiliation, frustration and decay, playthings of dark lords and the third rate.
Why they don't just put us up for sale I don't know. I don't think I can do another thirteen years of this.

Yeah that's who I was thinking of, was he the first?
But then foreign could also include players from the Republic of Ireland?
-
Just a bit of fun and I don't know the answer to this.
But who was Blackburn rovers' first foreign signing?
Think it was some Danish fella in the seventies but I forget him name

Hi guys, I've tried to get a cigarette card collection together of rovers players of yesteryear. Thought it would be nice to have on the wall, I wouldn't have seen any of these play, but it's just something nice that is pre venkys.
What do you reckon, any good? There's only some players you can get, done that I wanted don't even exist at all. I really wanted Billy garbutt, he's revered in Italy because he managed there. But no doing sadly.

Although we should all be careful about what we say definitely and what we speculate on, I would suggest that lazily using the incorrect vehicle for cross-border investment in your rent-a-mate, low-grade, faded pop star acquaintance’s doomed-from-the-off music startup is the kind of thing that a sophisticated investor tends not to do.
That made me laugh

Well hopefully they've had their chips, that's what really counts. They were utterly radish, so many times because of them, my heart, it choked. It was a caper they never should've embarked upon. They hired so many chancers and morons, there wasn't mushroom for talent

Indeed, people seem to forget sometimes he's a young and inexperienced manager. The way we play shows he has impressive coaching skills, but there's a lot more to management than coaching a team to play a certain style well. You only learn those things through experience, and one of the pitfalls of hiring rookie managers is that their growing pains will also be yours as a club. Occasionally it clicks immediately, as with McKenna at Ipswich. but more often than not time and patience are required.
Goes without saying that the above becomes much harder when the owners are at best passively useless and at worst totally destructive.
Could I vote for passively destructive please?

I wouldn't want to call this one at all.
QPR I have it on reliable info are absolutely gash. Seems were not much better.
My crystal ball says there could be a red card, var controversy, an own goal and a dreadful miss.
And at full time, over team wins, by a goal.
Or did you don't like that I have other predictions

Sorry to hear your news. Must be very difficult to really process the two things. Fingers crossed for you. I think the caller you can stay, the more that will help your mum

To think we started off by beating West brom and then best Watford away, back when Watford were rated.
QPR is absolutely pivotal because if we do go into bottom three, I don't think we'll be getting out of it. Doesn't feel like there's any fight to the club any more.
In any case, I think eventually we're going to drop, it's the laws of physics. The uplift from venkys is getting more and more feeble, but gravity stays the same.
And if we do go down, we won't be coming back up again, not without a change of ownership

Let’s put it this way - if we’d have known he was going to be missing for the first 3 months of the season should we have still signed him ? Knowing all along that Gally is only a nose bleed away from going missing for a month or two at the same time.
Well yeah either the medical wasn't done properly, despite the what professor doctor Chadwick says. Or it was done properly and we signed him anyway, in which case, wtf?

Personally, I think it's 50/50 win or lose, with a 20% chance of a draw

Sounds like a fixed mindset to me.
I'm not an addiction counselor, but I read plenty on it over the course of the pandemic. The first question to ask someone with an auction is not "why the addiction" it's "why the pain?", they're addicted because they're in pain, and they're in pain because they've had trauma.
It's not a choice, it's a desperate need for emotional regulation that drives them to that substance or to that activity, they can't regulate internally
All this moral fibre stuff about it's a choice, maybe it is for some people, but not for those with genuine addictions. Do you think people on fentanyl would do it if it was out of choice? It eats your face away.
Please think before judging people, because if you speak to them harshly you may on fact be drilling them further into addiction by knocking their emotional state further out of balance

£20m per season isn’t enough clearly. £50m? £100m?
Firstly, I wouldn't start from this point. The club basically ran itself thanks to some very decent operators. It just required a little bit of dough each year.
But no, these clueless wankers got rid of big Sam and started thinking they could run the gaff from India. I'm not going to run through the litany of arse-ups and bad appointments, but I would say the Henning berg saga was the apotheosis of their reign of terror.
The club is a total bloody basket case and they are the root cause of it. They are the reason that they must put in twenty mill a season just to stop us from going to the wall.
I don't want them to put in fifty mill a season, I just want them to FUCK OFF

Feeling despondent about everything rovers, which is a word thing to say the day after we've won 5-2 in the cup.
I think Leicester could well hand out a reaming. It's away isn't it? I think a win for rovers is pretty unlikely

They really are filth these people. It breaks my heart, it really does. How the takeover was ever allowed, I have no idea.
I don't want to think of all the things that's happened that's hacked me off. But yeah, this hurts.
They just do not give a fuck, do they? It's just so brazen.
