  1. Whatever the shirt looks like next season, I say bring back the blue socks. I thought the kit looked really good on Sunday against Spurs.
  2. I don't usually make predictions because I'm usually totally wrong, but tonight I'm confident enough to say... ....it's going to be BLOODY FREEZING!!
  3. This evening's LET is reporting that Grayson has asked Tony Parkes to come on board with him as an assistant at Blackpool, but that Tony is unlikely to take up the offer as he's worried about the lack of stability at the club.
  4. Thanks for those posts chaps, I'm also at Fernhurst and have been puzzled for a while as to why my broadband applications have been getting knocked back, and my own enquiries to BT have been fruitless.
  5. I thought it was 'Inner City Farm', because they were all animals. I don't hold much hope for this one although a mix of 75% bully boy and 25% quick break quality football may just keep the defecit down enough for us to snatch a goal and squeeze a draw. Maybe.
  6. For goodness sake, whatever anyone does don't make up any kind of politically incorrect song up about his alleged exploits the next time Rovers play against him, just in case he makes his mind up to try extra hard to score against us.
  7. Apparently they're really nice to eat, especially the younger ones, but you'll need two or three to make a decent sized pie. It's a bit like rabbit I'm told.
  8. Is that the same Keith Fear who played for us in about 1977? He only had a handful of games at Rovers but will forever be remembered for his goal, on his debut for us, against Burnley at Turf Moor on Boxing Day. What a guy!
  9. Cricket's just a fad? Of course, everyone WILL revert to watching football after the Ashes series. Probably because the English season will be over not long afterwards. Cricket's too hard to understand? Too hard? Are you sure?
  10. The country is sick and tired of an over-hyped, over-exposed sport played by grossly overpaid average players. You've hit the nail right on the head there.
  11. I've just seen on ITV news that Barton's brother is wanted in connection with the murder of Anthony Walker. Michael Barton and another man are being reported as having fled the country since the incident on Merseyside and have been named by the police as men they would really like to speak to. Taking into account what we already know about Joey Barton's history, I leave you to draw your own conclusions about this particular family.
  12. Tell me Rad, is that a cover of the Hawkwind tune? Born to erase all of your days? If so it would be @#/?.
  13. It would be fun if the Rovers could run out first to something really rousing, but then let the visitors come out a few seconds later whilst the music changes to the Benny Hill theme.
  14. According to the LET's man in Germany there was a chance meeting between a group of Rovers fans and a herd of Dingles, in Salzburg. (They're over there playing some friendlies against some really poor sides). He assures us there were no arrests!
  15. Although I wasn't a regular in those days, my first Rovers game was on 1 March 1975, my 8th birthday, a 2-0 win against Swindon Town. I still have the ticket, a family ticket, which cost £3.50. Sat in the top deck of the Riverside and can remember being amazed at the size of the ground because previously I had only been to Spotland, in Rochdale. I think I really started going properly a couple of years later, around '77, when Jim Smith was manager.
  16. Why don't all you moneybags out there who think it's a bargain buy two season tickets and give one away to a mate or someone? Or even chuck it in the bin. After all, the issue at the moment seems to be money in the coffers, not bums on seats. Without doubt, if the season tickets were half the price, Rovers would probably sell twice as many. And if you ask me, a full stadium is better than a half empty one regardless of how much dosh the club (players) are raking in.
  17. Jolly good luck to smelly PNE. Liverpool smells too. Grumpy.
  18. I think the only thing that would surprise Robbie Savage would be a good reception from the Brummies! He should warm up in a Villa shirt for a laugh!
  19. You're alright, mate. Are you being sarcastic? Or is that a compliment?
  20. The 'Big Calm' album by Morcheeba really has it's claws in me at the moment. 'Ghost of a Rose' by Blackmore's Night is on a lot at our house too.
  21. Been listening to Steeleye Span, and Fairport Convention, up on Hadrian's Wall in the last couple of days. Music, like food and beer, is so much better in the open air.
  22. Just lately I have been listening to 'Steppin' Out', recorded around 1966 by John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton. It's great blues music, and Clapton's Les Paul sounds awesome.
