I used to have that on the original “ London “ label. It’d be worth a few quid now. Back to the quiz - The Electric Prunes - Get Me To The World On Time -

You’d think that Travis would drop back into that temporary position rather than Carter moving over. It leaves us 3 at the back on occasions. -

He played the whole 90 mins yesterday, not his usual 70 minutes. Maybe his fitness is improving after all the injuries ? -

One thing about playing your rivals - all the games are 6 pointers. Win and as well as doing yourself a favour you do them down. If we do make the play offs these are the teams we’ll be playing. We might as well get used to beating them now. -

Terry Paine surprised me but this guy knew what he was talking about. Osgood didn’t surprise me. He was another like Giles who got a bad injury early in his career and made sure he didn’t get another one. -

I was at a game at Burnden Park years ago. There was a bloody great clock on front of the main stand. About 15 minutes before the end of the game the ref blew for time ! Everybody went off and the fans started to leave. We could see the clock and we couldn’t figure out why the players had gone off so we hung around. After about 5 to 10 minutes the players came rushing back onto the pitch. Some were putting their kit back on and some looked like they’d just got out of the shower. We we’re losing 2-1 at that point and the score stayed that way unfortunately. -

Was the keeper who got carded the same one that did the double save against us in the cup ? -

I watch rugby league and the time keeping is a doddle. Both teams have an official timekeeper and they do it together. The ref signals to stop the clock and start the clock. No arguments about how long was to be played. They blow the hooter and game is over the next time the ball goes dead. Of course you can see teams score after the hooter sounds but not often. -

Nah, he could give a kick but he could take a kick as well. The really dirty ones were the sly ones. I remember reading an autobiography of a famous player in Nobby’s era. The five forwards who he said were the really dirty gits - Terry Paine, Roy Vernon, Peter Osgood, Johnny Giles, Johnny Morrisey. How many of those would you have down ? -

Nobby Stiles was about 5’8” and 10 stones but not many players came away with the ball in a 50/50 with Nobby. -

If we can’t give Hull a game at home we don’t deserve to be in the play-offs. -

I can’t recall a more ineffectual centre forward playing for us than Gally at the moment. Maybe Frank Lord, but even Frank was a threat in the air.
