  1. There is usually one “ established “ Premier League team that makes a balls of their season. Poor managerial appointments will do it, but bad player signings, more than their share of serious injuries, etc don’t help. I don’t think Everton will be that team but on the other hand if they did go down I wouldn’t be totally surprised.
  2. I agree with you about the yellow cards, most of them were completely unnecessary.
  3. One good thing, he’ll be able to wear the same kit as he did last Wednesday, it wouldn’t have needed washing.
  4. Yes I agree. Things have changed over the years. When I started watching most of the fullbacks at Rovers could play on either flank.
  5. As a full back it’s as much about jockeying, blocking, tackling etc on your “ wrong “ side that it is passing. You’ve got to have plenty of game time there before things like timing a sliding tackle “ the other way around “ become second nature.
  6. I can’t recall Nyambe ever playing left back. Having said that I’d expect a professional full back to be able to play on the other flank but it just doesn’t happen these days.
  7. It used to be “ an ale house ball “ when I played.
  8. Not been the same player since the injuries.
  9. Oh no, you can’t say things like that.
  10. Listen , I’ll be thrilled tomorrow if we win. I’ll be on cloud nine. It’ll be a massive 3 points and hopefully the show will be back on the road and the cat won’t get kicked.
  11. There was a game in the 1960’s when we’d gone out of the Cup in pretty poor circumstances. Jack Marshall dropped a few of the non performing stars and brought in some players who were around the fringes of the first team for the next game. The lads he brought in played worse than the blokes he’d dropped and we lost after playing miserably 1-0. Two in particular were really awful. No names as they’re still alive, I think. Neither of those two ever played for Rovers first team again and they were transferred out of the club at the first opportunity.
  12. Let’s leave this whilst tomorrow at 10-00pm shall we ? You seem to have a problem accepting that some people may have a different opinion to yours. The facts will speak for themselves tomorrow.
  13. All that counts for nothing at 7-45 pm tomorrow night. It’s 11 versus 11 then. I wish I could paint you a picture were we win, but I can’t. With our best squad out I’d fancy our chances but given we won’t be at full strength I don’t see us winning. Sorry if that offends you.
  14. Indeed. There was a time when players who played as badly as Gallagher did the other night never got to play for the first team again.
  15. Really, that’s a licence to print money. Luckily for the bookies I can’t bring myself to bet against Rovers.
  16. He’d be twice the player Gallagher is.
  17. Who’s running this massively loss making operation ? The same idiots that have been running it into the ground for the last ten years. They’ll never get us anywhere long term apart from further down the league ladder. All this talk about following the Brentford model is utter nonsense. The people running Brentford have plenty of football nous, the chicken chokers have acquired absolutely non in ten years.
  18. Why don’t just they just sell up and eff off. What good are they actually doing to anybody ? I never thought I’d ever quote David Davies but as he said to Johnson - “ You have sat there too long for all the good you have done, in the name of God go “.
  19. We’ve been watching “ Hidden Assets “.
  20. Javier DePedro had a dozen caps for Spain. Just saying.
  21. There’s a piece on Wilder and Middlesborough in today’s “ Sunday Observer “. Interesting.
  22. Good teams score near the death. They have the right mentality.
  23. You missed the best Rovers performance in my lifetime.
