  1. You'd have to pay me to watch that lot. Not fit to wear the shirt comes to mind. I remember the last days of Kiddo, we struggled woefully against QPR and lost 2-1. The team was booed off at the end. I said to my lad " Don't worry, he'll be gone before the next game ". And he was.
  2. Not for the first time either. The Stoke goal came the same way. Preston will have seen that.
  3. It's all just words when action is required. Do you think they'll be in for extra training tomorrow morning ?
  4. We're actually going backwards.
  5. Well the way we are playing we haven't moved forward an inch since those days.
  6. The way we're playing we're more likely to finish 8th from bottom. Our current form is relegation form. We are not out of the woods yet. Let's just waste the rest of this season just like we've wasted the last three.
  7. If Big Jack was running the show he'd be long gone. If by some miracle he'd have hung on until until now he'd have been fired after tonight's game. It's over for him at Rovers. Come Monday morning we should be looking for the new guy.
  8. The one he did with Bruce Springsteen was good _ " This Little Girl " ? " Quarter To Three " was the other big hit he had along with " New Orleans ".
  9. 3 years too late for me. Anybody else " managing " that shambles would know it's time to go.
  10. Holtby wouldn't have made any difference tonight. As I said this afternoon - the team that want's to be out there the most tonight will win this.
  11. Archer is having problems with his elbow apparently.
  12. The recent results mask the fact we've being playing pretty poorly. We got very lucky at Boro, 99 out of a 100 refs would have given a pen and a red card. In the Luton game if the linesman had have blinked and missed that very narrow off side that game would have ended 1-1. I make that 5 points we probably wouldn't have got. Last time out we completely failed to overcome a deeply average QPR team who hadn't won at home for ages. The options from the bench are good because we don't know what our best team is. Will we be subbing another four players on the 65 minute mark ? Tonight, given the conditions, it'll be down to the team that wants to be out there the most.
  13. Players basically come in two types. The players that get you on top in a game, and the players that can keep you on top once the other players have done their stuff. Holtby belongs in the second group. We've too many who belong is the second category and not enough who belong in the first.
  14. We'll have to improve 100% on our recent form to get a win tonight. I'm not sure we can. We've too many players blowing hot and cold. 7/10 one week, 3/10 the next. I think Tony Mogadon had baffled them with science.
  15. I suspect you have to be on nodding terms with an amateur pharmaceutical entrepreneur to get the full effect CLB.
  16. The dingles would have had Southampton at home if they hadn't gone in the tank against Bournemouth. To quote Jim Bowen - " Just look what you might have won ".
  17. How did Trybull get injured ? Holtby must be a contender for the Vince Grella Lame Duck award. I'll say one thing for Tony, he knows a crock when he sees one. Is it too early in the year for Ayala to put an appearance in ?
  18. In that case you might like " The Mona Lisa Twins ". They're a covers band but they're really good.
  19. We wouldn't get much for Dack at the moment. He's going to have to get back to the level he was at pre-injury first.
  20. My pet hate is throw ins. When I played if you had a throw in 5 or 6 yards from your own goal line and if your opponents marked up tightly it was really hard to get the ball away. Lots of times you lost possession in a dangerous area. Nowadays you begin to take the throw about 5 yards further up the pitch from where the ball went out. Then you just shuffle up the touchline until you're about 20 yards further down the pitch.
  21. I've never been as disenchanted as I am now. Not just with Rovers and the lost decade but with football in general. I watch very little these days. The Utd v West Ham game was live on TV last night for instance. I'd rather watch Graham Hall training dogs on Channel 5 ! Not long ago I'd have been watching the game and hoping Utd lose. It's same with the national team. I only watch them in the big games. Battering Treasure Island and Transylvania holds no appeal for me. They were the teams in a spoof " Monty Python " World Cup football piss take back in the day but I'm amazed that Transylvania haven't actually got a team these days. Ludicrous wages, diving, weak administration of the game from top to bottom, matches scheduled to suit TV companies, etc etc have all combined to lessen my attachment to the game I've spent life attached to. Wives, jobs, houses, friends have all come and gone. It's a shame that the one constant in my life from the age of 10 no longer has much appeal for me.
  22. In terms of excitement it's not what it was, that's for sure.
  23. Yeah, it's nearly as bad as Tony Mogadon's at Rovers. Have we actually won an FA Cup tie in his time here ?
  24. I think that's his level now.
