  1. Do you think Dack would have still been here today if he hadn't have been injured 14 months ago ? Most players play for themselves first and foremost, the team is a poor second and the fans are way down the list. I don't think Dack is an exception to that list. The more they get paid the less commitment you appear to get. On another point = just how many players have been injured this season ? Or putting more simply how many haven't been injured ? Previous experience tells me the greater the number of injuries you have at the club the lower the morale of the players is. I'm not talking serious injuries like broken legs etc I mean the little niggles that seem to last for ever. Anybody know when Ayala is likely to be available for selection ? Next August maybe ? JRC ? Johnson ? Trybull ?
  2. That reminds me of a top American boxer who came over here to fight the British champion. He knocked our guy out in a couple of rounds. After the fight a journalist asked him what he thought of his opponent. The Yank said " I thought he was a really awkward opponent ". The reporter asked " What do you mean, you knocked him out in two rounds ? " The Yank replied " Well, when I knocked him out he fell over awkwardly ".
  3. They reminded me of my rugby league team when the wages haven't appeared in their bank accounts. I've seen other teams were you later find out the players had bot the hump with the manager. We just look like them. If that's not the case I wouldn't like to see us when we really aren't trying !
  4. i like Johnno but he's unfortunately tarred with the Mowbray/Venus brush for me. He's down as " first team coach " on the staff list. You'd think they'd were just a group of blokes who'd met up on the carpark at Ewood before getting on the coach.
  5. It's not just losing that's the problem, our form is abysmal and has been for a while in spite of a few results going our way. Playing like we did tonight who would you back us to beat ?
  6. It was obvious to those with eyes that see that he'd lost the players a few games ago. They're playing to get him out now in my opinion.
  7. Who's going to put down good money for Dack at the moment ?
  8. Yeah, it's a bloody awful photograph !
  9. Relegation form, it's as simple as that. The coach should drop him off at home before it heads back to Blackburn.
  10. Nyambe could have been a top right full back. We've wasted his potential so far.
  11. I sent my son a text earlier _ " Are you watching the game tonight " ? His reply - " Yeah, I'll have it on. I don't get excited anymore. It's more like a chore ". That's from a real die hard Rover.
  12. It'd be a shame if that was the end of his career. It wasn't much more than handbags in my opinion.
  13. It's like a lot of modern fullback play. He's being asked to play a yard or two too near the centre halves so he can give them support. That gives whoever's out on the wing a bit more time to get set up for a cross. The old first rule of full back play - try and keep your opponent facing back down the pitch and don't let them turn with the ball- is really difficult to achieve if you're under instruction to play nearer to the centre haves.
  14. We've been watching " Great ". A bit like " I Claudius " but set in Czarist Russia. Although I don't much like dogs, trainer Graham Hall is good to watch In that " Dogs Behaving Really Badly ". I can't get over how what appear to be normal people are so much in thrall to their dogs.
  15. That's alright gumboots, we're pretty broadminded on here.
  16. It's not often I agree with Chaddy but he's right regarding Dack. He's playing from memory at the moment. I wouldn't be starting him at Barnsley.
  17. We'll be lucky if Wharton's fit to start next season. JRC seems to have been injured a long while now. Who is this Ayala people are speaking of ? I can't see anything but a loss, unless they get a man sent off early on, then we should get a draw at least. I've seen some poor teams and bad players in our shirt over the years but I can't recall a more disorganised team ever. That includes the Kean and Coyle era. At least players were played in what was supposed to be their recognised positions and the teams had a shape, poor as it was. What I'm really tired of seeing is average teams doing us because they are better set up and are willing to work harder. That is getting really old. Unfortunately that is what I'm expecting tomorrow night. None of the teams in this league could hold a candle to the Fulham and Rovers teams of our last promotion season.
  18. I've seen genuine ability in flashes but not enough often enough. He's got to get on the ball more. They should show him old videos of Eyal Berkovic. He wasn't the most physical of players but he never shirked showing for a pass no matter where he was on the pitch or how tightly he was marked.
  19. To say he's a giant his heading of the ball is poor. Same goes for Brererton. Like lots of big lads, they've come up playing against smaller kids so their size was a big advantage. When they come up against blokes who can actually jump and know how to use their size those two are lost.
  20. The few lucky points we've manage to get have have papered over the fact that we're already in our usual death spiral. If we'd have lost to Boro and drawn with Luton, as we might have done but for the officials, I'd be fearing the worst more than I am at the moment.
  21. They could have declared on their overnight score and they would have still had enough runs.
  22. There's big group of teams on 39-38-37 points. We're leading the group on goal difference.
  23. How long does it take to weigh up the relative strengths and weaknesses of 20 odd players ? A month ? Then come up with a coherent way of playing ? Another month ? Or if you're our guy - 4 years and counting.
