  1. I got a text from my son at the final whistle - " Well that wasn't pretty was it ? " Let's call a spade a spade.
  2. Howard Kendall would have got us promoted.
  3. That'll be a lot worse out there. It's not a pitch for short passing tippy tappy stuff.
  4. Another Alan Wright would do me but once you've seen Keith Newton in his prime you've been spoiled for life. A class act in every aspect of full back play.
  5. Mm, " Technical ability ", how much technical ability did the likes of Mick Heaton or Jim Branigan have ? Bloody difficult full backs to play against though
  6. Yes, I see what you did there. I had a great LP with all those on, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Quarterflash etc American stadium rock style stuff. Thinking about it, here's one from Venkies for Tony Mowbray - " Carry On My Wayward Son ". I think that was Kansas.
  7. If I see the word " journey " again I'll scream. The only " journey " I want Rothwell to be on is from our half to their half.
  8. Yeah, that'd never happen at Rovers in a million years !
  9. I wouldn't let him have another penny to spend. The Chicken Chokers must be real suckers for a sob story.
  10. I'm expecting another match of huffing and puffing. Wether we blow Luton's house down ? I suspect not.
  11. I thought Dack would sign a new contract when he was coming back from a career threatening injury. He'd be a fool not to.
  12. I can't see Everton letting us loan the young lad if they thought we were going to bring in a starting centre back and put the lad on the bench.
  13. I'm just reading my local paper that several clubs are looking at an 18 year old Rochdale winger, Kwadwo Baah. He's only played a handful of games yet Bayern, Juventus, West Ham and Rangers are all considering a swoop for him. That's the level of detail modern clubs are capable of.
  14. I was going to say that looks like a toolroom.
  15. Some would, some wouldn't. He should have been bollocking the ref not the lad. It wasn't the lads fault the ref gave nothing. Sometimes you wonder wether the refs eyes are just painted on. Sorry Arbi. My mind goes back to when that German goalie nearly killed, and I mean killed, that French outfield player in the World Cup. He stayed on.
  16. I saw a photo were Warnock is bollocking the kid and Mowbray is just sat there watching him do it.
  17. Because apart from you we've nobody looking out for him. The Chicken Chokers will be too busy watching the cricket and none of our " directors " will have their ear to the ground listening to the football jungle drums. Back when we really hadn't got a pot to piss in our directors signed 4 managers - Furphy, Smith, Lee, Kendall all of whom were poached away from us by Div 1 teams and went on to bigger and better things. Jim Iley was a bollock but they were entitled to one mistake. The board then was composed of guys who'd been around football and the lower leagues and they'd spotted the up coming managerial talent. We don't have that at the moment
  18. The next generations top manager is out there. The chances of Rovers landing him is nil.
  19. When we played Liverpool one time in the early 1960's I saw that shop get cleaned out by a gang of scousers. That was the first time I'd seen a " steaming " gang.
  20. I've only seen him play once for a whole game but he looked a good stopper to me. I'd say better than Lenihan in that respect.
  21. Cunningham would be a gamble we can't afford to take. You need a back line that is durable, not a collection of injury prone players. We've got enough players coming back from serious injuries..
