  1. It reminds me a bit of Kiddo's downfall, a team with some decent players but looking totally lost.
  2. Is it time to get the annual relegation thread going Jim ?
  3. It's like we're playing another game to what we are playing today.
  4. I've got a replica shirt from " Philosphy Football " , it's got a quote from John Paul Sartre on the front - " Everything in football is complicated by the presence of the opposing team ".
  5. He did well to come through all that !
  6. I can't summon up any enthusiasm at the moment but a win always puts a smile on my face. Even a hard fought for away draw has the same effect. I've long since given up trying to anticipate what the team will be or even what team I'd like to see out on the pitch. Head says we'll play like drains and lose. Heart says we might put in a performance and get a draw.
  7. I would have thought the chances of this season being played to a finish aren't great.
  8. I was ambivalent about Kiddo but thought we could have done better, I thought Hodgson was a poor mans Sven. Souness I was pleased with and I thought Ince was a massive gamble we didn't need to take.
  9. Entertainment yes. Watching Rovers at the moment, maybe not.
  10. I've not really been happy since the day Mowbray joined to be honest, indeed I've not been happy since the Chicken Chokers joined us. It's been a miserable ten years. On the other hand I've been fortunate enough to see several Rovers teams that were terrific entertainment so it's not all bad.
  11. Yeah and it's not like they've had no reason to is it ? How many of us wanted Kean, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Coyle, Mowbray ? I was pleased with the Lambert and Co appointment, I thought that was a sensible appointment. Yet they managed to balls that one up. As for the rest, none of them were popular choices.
  12. That's what I mean. It's dawned on him that the Premier League move isn't going to happen. In that case you may as well stay at the holiday camp that is Brockhall.
  13. It's called " in the light of recent experience".
  14. Sadly that's how I see it panning out. A team of well organised, motivated triers will beat a more skillful but disorganised and unmotivated team 9 times out of 10 I'm afraid.
  15. If you'd have had a list of the 50 most likely candidates for the Rovers job at the time I'd bet his name wouldn't have been on it.
  16. I'd say a decent manager will get half of his signings right. A really good manager will get up around the 70% mark right. Dack and Armstrong are undoubted success stories, After that there is very long list of players who regularly blow hot and cold, Holtby, Johnson, Brererton, Rothwell, etc followed by a fairly long list of players who have flopped. If I have more time later I'll list them all.
  17. Well they did make one appointment that on the surface seemed logical. That was the appointment of the Lambert, Irvine, and the other guy who's name I always forget, team. Then they pulled the plug on the finance !
  18. Our new style of play could be marketed as a cure for insomnia.
  19. Or lost the power of speech. All it needed was a shout. What Douglas was doing there is a mystery. That's the second goal we've conceded when he's turned his back on the ball.
  20. I can't see how anybody can think he's done well in the transfer market. He's got a very long list of duds that ends at the moment with Douglas but began with Whittington, Caddis, Gladwin etc etc. Time for another Mowbray " in or out " poll I think.
  21. I haven't wrote it off either. We haven't got to 50 points yet.
  22. There's " running " and "RUNNING " mate. I know the difference when I see it.
  23. Saturday's opening goal was a classic example, schoolboy under 11 team defending. The player facing the ball - put your name on it and if you can't head it clear head it high so at least you can get another attempt at clearing it.
  24. I think with Big Sam going there he's more likely to hold on to him to be honest. They'll have a lot of defending to do before the end of the season. Quote from Sam Johnstone after yesterdays draw at Anfield. - "Everyone knows what the manager is like. He has come in and changed things very quickly and the lads are reacting to it. We dug in deep, we ran for 94 minutes, it was tough at times but it was a great point away from home. It feels more like a win " What I wouldn't give for a Rovers team that runs for 90 odd minutes. That effort reduced Liverpool to two attempts on goal in the whole game.
  25. Bowyer was taking us down. If we persist with Mowbray ultimately he'll take us down once the fire sale starts.
