He is for a centre half. I don't know what they make centre halves out of these days. Matt Woods played every game in an era when centre halves and centre forwards kicked lumps out of each other !

We're talking a guy with tons of Premier League experience who was a full international with many caps as against Billy Who ? -

Whatever 11 play it'll be the same old obvious, labourious, predictable, one dimensional, easy to play against, walking football that we've all become used to. -
I'd be saying the same thing. We need to get a few off the pay roll sharpish.

Magloire gave away a goal making his debut for Rochdale last night. He was trying to play nice football and got caught in possession.
-
That first one was unbelievable - Junior School stuff.

He's the sort of striker that won't score many goals.

Williams is another one who's not a stranger to the treatment table. -
Well people keep telling me modern football is better. Really ? Look at that pitch yet the players conjured up more goal mouth incidents than we can today. That would be what 90% of pitches would be like by mid Feb and March.

10/10. -
He's not so cheap if he doesn't play.

When you've had as many injuries as Chapman has had it's starts becoming mental as well as physical. You stop trusting your body. I was surprised when we brought him back. I like the lad but I wouldn't have signed him without seeing more from him.

What have at the moment is a collection of players, not a team.

Were do you think we'd have been playing if we'd have given Paul Ince 3 seasons ? -

With this bunch of charlatans in charge anything can happen and it will probably be bad. Having said that sticking with Mowbray until it's too late could be worse. -
Any outfield player should be able to cross a decent ball Stuart. One of the best crossers of a ball I've seen at Ewood was Alan Shearer. especially off the right wing.
-
I got shouted down when I suggested that for a very tall striker Gallagher is not a good header of the ball. If you rolled Gallager and Brereton into one you wouldn't have a good header of the ball. You wouldn't even have a player of Matt Jansen's heading ability and what was he 5' 9" -5' 10".
-
He's a finisher pure and simple Den, he's not an all around football player. Put him up front alongside somebody like Newall 20 odd years ago and he'd score goals. Trouble is it's 2019 now and we don't play that way anymore. It's a bit like playing Gary Lineker or Michael Owen out wide on the right or left although I daresay they'd make a better job of it.
-
Just one comment Parson. If you've come through various academies , youth teams, and first teams and you still can't cross a ball what have you been doing all that time ? I could cross a ball stood still or on the run with either foot, driven balls, floaters, chips etc by the time I was 17.

Anybody who thinks Gallagher will score more goals at this level than Austin needs to give their head a wobble. If we're looking at long term investments instead of assets that can have an immediate impact we're in the wrong game, -

If we had anybody running the show with an ounce of footballing knowledge we'd be knocking on Chris Hughton's door this morning. -
I was going to point that out Jim. The first Rovers team I saw get relegated had that failing.
-
But apart from that do you think we did well ?

I used to work with a bloke who was similarly successful at backing winners. He just backed most of the horses in the race.
