  1. Regarding ACD, I’m still not a fan of predominently left footed players out on the right. They want to come inside all the time and it compresses play. ACD reminded me a bit of Scott Sellars but Scotty played on his correct wing.
  2. If you can’t put chances like the one today away what can you score from ?
  3. Rev’s got to have a go at somebody now Gally’s gone.
  4. Really good first half performance, not so good second half. We stopped respecting possession and started being too clever on the ball. Scores - Peers, 7, he had good game today. For all Luton’s huff and puff he didn’t have a lot to do apart from that double save. JRC, 7, steady performance. Didn’t do much wrong and he got forward well in the first half. Hyam, 8, rocky steady and back to the form that got him into the Scotland squad. Batth, 8, what a difference he’s made. Stood up to Luton’s big guys all game. Pickering, 7, did pretty well after that early booking. Unlucky with the back heel. ACD, 7, great first half, vanished in the second half. Travis, 9, played like a real captain today. He’s our talisman. The beating heart of the team. Tronstad, 8, the blotting paper man, just soaks everything up. Beck, 7, got forward well for the goal in what is not his best position. Ohashi, 8, never stopped running, made the Beck goal and caused the Luton red Gueye, 7, a really strange player. Missed an absolute sitter of a chance but generally played quite well. He’s alway playing on the edge. Goes offside too easily and gets wound up too easily. Subs Hedges, 6, hardly in the game for the last 15-20 minutes Buckley 6, ditto. Leanard, 6, missed a good chance right at the death. I wasn’t impressed with the ref. There was one bad tackle in the whole game and how many players did he book ?
  5. Big Dee Irwin - Swinging On A Star
  6. He’d have Wharton playing in the Cantwell role, further up the pitch. Travis, Tronstad, Wharton. Best central midfield in the Division.
  7. The saddest thing for me was seeing an ageing Bryan Douglas come on as a sub and being unable to influence the game in any way. At one time he would have run City ragged. On the other team you had the emergence of the new style of midfield player in Colin Bell. He was running the show. Bryan was a ball player, Bell was an athlete. Stuart Metcalfe was our outstanding player, he gave Glyn Pardoe a bit of a chasing.
  8. Unlikely Den, it was an all ticket game.
  9. That was the best City played throughout their cup run.
  10. I think we all know what the budget will be now. £0.
  11. That’s what went through my mind.
  12. That’s a ridiculous number of games.
  13. Just sat in a pub over in Yorkshire and the Utd game is on the TV. The Utd keeper played a short pass directly to an opposing player about 10 yards away. He just squared the ball for a tap in. Isn’t this playing out from the back great.
  14. Nothing annoys me more than being “ the best team “ and losing. Just think back to all the praise we got from opposing managers when we lost. They’re not praising us now.
  15. Not Eustace’s style at all. The team comes first now. Buy in to that or there’s the door.
  16. We’ll learn a lot about ourselves on Saturday. We’ll need to fight fire with fire. I think we have the physicality to do that at the moment.
  17. He put over one of the best right wing crosses you’ll ever see for that Pedersen volley against Fulham.
  18. I’d put John Filan in that list.
  19. Baker for Dolan and Dolan for JRC I think. That’s if everybody is 100% good to go. We’ll need some size and aggression in the team for Luton so Gueye would be a possibly starter.
  20. Janis Joplin - Me And Bobby McGee
  21. I was just reading that the Sheff Utd owner looks to be reneging on a deal to sell the club now they look like being promoted. He’ll possibly fill his boots and walk away. In another snippet one time 4th division stalwarts Brentford are apparently on the market for the princely sum of £400 million ? Venkies - “ look what you could have had. “ !
  22. There was a time I would have agreed with you but the lad has hardly played this season.
  23. Not particularly sparkling with the ball at his feet but what a great header of the ball.
