  1. Do a swap deal with Dolan or Hedges ?
  2. The doubts set in for me right at the end of the promotion season and the following close season. Up until then I had been a fan of his. He showed minimal ambition to kick on when the club was briefly on the crest of a wave. After that I was just waiting for him to leave. It turned out to be a long wait !
  3. He won’t come here if Stoke are interested. He won’t have to move house or spend hours driving back and forth if he signs for them. The days of us paying well over the odds to make it worth his while are long gone.
  4. Stealers Wheel - Stuck In The Middle With You
  5. That’s a very short team height wise. Given we’re the away team they should be getting a few corners and free kicks.
  6. I’ve watched it from lots of different angles. It seems he misjudged the flight of the ball early on but manages to get his head in the right place at the last second. There was a lot of bend and dip on the cross so that’s understandable. He did really well to direct it past the keeper.
  7. At least he was smart enough to come in from behind the far post where he’ll always be jumping with full backs. Only one winner there.
  8. I’ve only seen 10 minutes of Sanderson but I’m pleased we’ve got him and not Hanley. He looks quicker for a start. Hanley will ok for big club if they’re looking to get promoted.
  9. He likes to get in their ear as welll.
  10. In one of our recent games he was running the winger into the touchline. He went to ground in an attempt to block the cross. His block didn’t quite come off and the winger got half a yard on him. He was back on his feet in a flash and made another block, successfully this time. It’s a while since I saw a full back with recovery ability like that. It was like he’d never actually gone to ground he was that quick, Top class.
  11. If anybody but Beck had have been marking him he would have caused us real problems. Beck “ quietened “ him though. It reminded me of the first time I saw Stuart Ripley He was playing for ‘ Boro. He was up against Alan Wright and they had a terrific tussle out on the wing. Wrighty won on points because towards the end of the game Stuart went over to the left wing to have a run at Richard Brown. I remember thinking “ That blond winger looks handy “. Kenny signed him at the end of that season. Lang looked a really good player.
  12. Buckley was lucky not to get booked.
  13. The new “ Axe “ ? It was very significant that both centre halves came over to congratulate him. Good team spirit there.
  14. You’re still playing and I can still remember what playing is like. Maybe that helps ? I agree about Beck, you wouldn’t want to be running against him. He’ll get the ball and put you on the running track and not think twice.
  15. We’ll sign a player who can play all three positions. Problem solved.
  16. Sometimes he’s surprising deft with ball at his feet and he can play a nice short pass. Unlike the one Hedges gave Beck in the first half.
  17. Really low bar. Plus if we have Dolan and ACD in the same team we’re getting really short defending at corners and free kicks.
  18. Sounds like a Pickering won’t be back fully until the season is nearly over.
  19. Then we went to Millwall who’d obviously watched the Luton game. They had the full back right up ACD’s arse, got physical with him, made him play facing his own goal and he was played completely out of the game. Subsequent opponents have adopted the same methods and up to now he hadn’t had an answer.
  20. Yeah I saw that. I don’t what he was doing there. No need to do it, the ball wasn’t in the immediate vicinity.
  21. He’s got “ scrum half pace “, he’s quick over 5-10:yards and then he’ll be getting caught. In rugby that’s all you need - make the line break and hand the ball over to the fast lads.
  22. He’s getting “ blood out of a stone “ at the moment. The team spirit is the best I’ve seen it for a long while. That’s taken us this far.
  23. All games are tough at this level. I just think we’re more suited to playing away than we are playing at home. Some decisions for JE to make regarding selection. There are at least three players in my opinion that played themselves out of selection at a normal club. If we had decent replacements they’d be on the bench for me. The experiment with Weimann was a failure and I don’t think Gueye is a starting player. Maybe it’s time to give Leonard another go up front although I’m not a fan. Bring the big guy on later if need be. Buckley isn’t Travis, playing in that role doesn’t suit him, for me he’s either a Cantwell stand in or a bench player. In the first half last night we had all three central midfield players all playing mainly in our half and we just couldn’t get forward momentum. We could give JRC a game there or start with Forshaw,, depending on his fitness levels. Hedges was completely ineffectual on Wednesday night, as was Dolan if we’re being honest however I don’t think ACD is a starting player either. I wouldn’t like to in JE’s shoes selecting the team for Saturday.
  24. The trouble is both of Gueye and ACD are poor when they start a game. I think Eustace knows that.
