  1. There’s definitely a player there for me.
  2. I stumbled across two replica New York Cosmos shirts on the rack in TKMaxx a few years ago. They were the “ Pele “ No 10 shirts, one home, one away. Luckily they were my size and I wear them out in Spain but I would have bought them anyway. You can argue about who was the second best ever, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo, etc but he was the number one for me.
  3. You can put Bournemouth in that.
  4. I wouldn’t have immediately recognised him going off that photo. It doesn’t look like he’ll be back in football now. Get well soon Tony.
  5. Well on his way to becoming a fans favourite I’d say.
  6. More like Frankenstein’s monster.
  7. Somebody in JDT’s position can walk away at any time, so you’re right. But there will be legal consequences afterwards.
  8. I know it can be a problem but I like how he’s an aggressive player also. He wasn’t going to take a backward step on Saturday. They weren’t going to intimidate him. We’ve manage to recruit a few more players who are up for a scrap this time. It’s not just Travis any more.
  9. I saw them a few times then. Ex Rover Fred Else was in goal for them.
  10. He’s everything that Gally wasn’t. Let’s say you’re a centre half- who would you rather play against ? Him or Gally ?
  11. They appear quite similar in character. Not guys you’d want to get on the wrong side of.
  12. He blotted his copybook for me with that debacle at Burnley and he never really won me back over after that.
  13. Nooo, I know hit and hope when I see it. That was a masterpiece of technique.
  14. Probably - Cologne springs to my mind.
  15. The guy to his right in played him on. Argentina had some really good players but their discipline let them down badly that day.
  16. Mysteriously ? Did you watch the game ? He wouldn’t have lasted 5 minutes in todays football. He wanted to referee the game as well as play in it.
  17. Looks like he’s hanging on your every word !
  18. Yeah that’s true. I remember Forest playing a top German team in the old European Cup. Forest had footballed the German team to death but just couldn’t score. The Germans were defending masterfully. Then with the last kick of the game the Forest keeper belted a long ball down field, both German centre halves went for the same ball and collided, missing the ball altogether. A Forest striker ran on to it and banged it into the net. 1-0
  19. One things for sure, the training ground will be buzzing after the weekend.
  20. I go back to the early sixties and they’ve always been the same. It’s nothing new. Poor man’s Man Utd fans in that respect.
  21. Four pages of chat already and the game is a fortnight off. A sign of the times. Last year nobody was interested half of the time.
  22. We’ll have a better chance in January at Ewood.
  23. There are plenty of ways to score goals. Saturday’s was a perfect example. From our keeper to the back of their net with two bounces ! Classic ale house team goal. I loved it. There’s still a lot of skill involved. Good long ball out from Pears to our striker, he out jumps the defenders and flicks on a perfectly judged header and Weimann hits a beauty into the far corner.
