January Transfer Window.

Someone is on the wind up..... How on earth are we going to persuade a lad who's been in and around the Juve first team this season to come to Blackburn Rovers? Reality check needed if you think that's a legit rumour 🤣 -

Sorba doesn't exclusively play on the left at all, in fact some of his better performances were on the right last season. -

Dack was without a doubt not unheard of at the time we signed him, unless you lived under a massive rock. Young player of the season 3 times on the trot and numerous clubs bid for him. -

Joao' record the last few seasons: 20/21 played 39 and scored 19 21/22 played 24 and scored 10 22/23 played 14 and scored 4 so far Sam Gallaghers: 20/21 Played 42 and scored 6 21/22 Played 39 and scored 8 22/23 Played 21 and scored 4 so far I'd take Joao over the ineffective Gallagher (one of our highest paid players) any day of the week -

He was appointed on the Friday, didn't even have time for a training session. Wagners Norwich now are not the team we beat. -

Norwich were in turmoil then too. The following 2 games they've banged 8 goals in away from home under Wagner. I dread to think how many we'd ship against them now. -

Nail on the head. Take for example our signing this week as a case study. Nerd analyst 1: my stats show me we aren't creating very many chances, in fact we're one of the worst in the championship in that regard, can you help? Nerd scout 1: say no more. "Hey Google, find me a player with lots of assists in the championship last season" Wilson - no chance Swift - no chance Semenyo - no chance Wallace - no chance Thomas - now maybe if Gregg can stop sweating long enough he might be able to negotiate a deal here! Nerd scout to Gregg: "I've found our man! Loads of assists and crosses last season, wages fairly low according to transfermarkt " Gregg: "sounds good! From open play? Can he take a man on?" Nerd scout: "no idea, shall I sign him on football manager?" Gregg: "nah fuck it he'll do, even Chaddy on that bloody BRFCS site is getting restless now!" -

We had a couple of spells winning 4 games in a row which if most other teams in the league had done they'd be around 4th too, can anyone genuinely imagine us doing that now? Teams were still sussing JDT out back in August, hence we won the first 4. If managers can't work out to play against us by now they're probably in the wrong job I'm afraid. A solid transfer window allowing us to bring different styles of play in would be the only way we'd make top 6, it'd not looking likely is it... -

So what is it 5 days to go? The usual tactics being deployed. Miss out on everyone we actually want then get a few shitty nobodies on deadline day. At this point the fans are desperate for incomings so literally anyone will do. The likes of Chaddy and fb massive try and put a positive spin on things. We then proceed to tumble down the table and yet are supposed to renew or sign up for season tickets at inflated prices in a few months. At least we can rejoice about a coach going to Watford and the players doing a really funny video on twitter saying what job they'd do if they hadn't become a footballer. Seriously if you haven't watched it, don't. These are absolutely dire times unless of course we're blown away by some transfer activity in the next few days (we won't be) -

Off topic a bit bit who remembers when Nixon posted on here and tried to get us to sign up to his daughters website to buy handbags? 🤣 Sadly blocked me when I said they were shite 😔 -

Got a few Huddersfield fans at work so I'll get their take on it later. The general consensus seems to be he's looked lazy and uninterested this season. Reading his initial interview he said this: “I’m eager, I’m ready to go, it’s a team that’s fighting in the play-offs and that’s where I want to be." Sounds like he most definitely wasn't up for a relegation battle, although he might end up disappointed if he thinks we're genuine play off contenders too, unless a few more follow him through the door. He did also comment about us playing exciting football too against them. Can't say I remember the game specifically but we only beat them 1-0 😕 -

Wonder what sort of wages he's on and what portion we're paying. Can't imagine on a massive wedge at Huddersfield. Seems a bit of a strange deal, more so on their part. Gregg bigging him up as a player who can change games, hell fire we need one of them so I hope he's right. -

I'm putting perspective on it. People will see those stats and think he's a get to the byeline and whip one in constantly kind of player, he's not from what I've seen. He'd be crossing no nobody anyway half the time if he was.... I'm not saying they're necessarily BAD stats, he's clearly excellent on corners and free kicks, if of course you have decent players on the end of them..... -

Those assist and crosses stats are completely misleading I'm afraid. A massive chunk of them are set pieces. Yes he whips a mean corner/free kick in, but please don't go expecting a Wilcox or a Ripley! I remember in the play off final he had a decent game in terms of taking defenders on but there was no end product. I'm not completely against him coming in and will give him a chance but much like a goalkeeper he doesn't seem a priority position and not sure how much more he offers than Markanday. -

That's why I said MANY of them. Listen a coach holds circa 50 people so if full probably around what 12-15 families possibly on-board. If they all keep going then great, will it make a significant difference to our support? Absolutely not. I don't have an issue whatsoever with this taking place, but this isn't a fantastic blackburn rovers initiative, its the efforts of 1 man and its him that should get any credit. Instead you can guarantee Waggott will have his picture somewhere in the articles that follow just like he had with prayers on the pitch etc etc -

.The likes of Allardyce, Mick Mccarthy and others may find themselves struggling more these days, the game has undoubtedly moved on and there's new kids on the block. Of course there's no guarantees with the newer managers either. -

Couldn't really care less about it to be honest but agree with JHR. It's pretty much a school trip and I'd be amazed if it encourages many of the attendees to follow rovers away when there's no subsidised travel, trips to mosques or food included. -

It's frigging awful is this. I've never been so bored by watching us literally in my life I don't think. Massive respect to the fans who once again were let down by a passionless bunch of players and inept manager. -

Never seen Undav play but going off stats alone just get him in, NOW. His goals for column makes for impressive reading wherever he's played. I'm under no illusions whatsoever that we'll make the play offs but I just want to see us score a few goals FFS and provide at least some entertainment for the remainder of the season. There is also talk that WBA, Norwich, Sunderland and Millwall are interested though so take your pick which one of those he will actually join. -

We'll either win 1 nil or get twatted again 4 nil, who knows really. I'm not looking forward to it regardless and to be quite honest I'm wondering where my motivation is coming from for the remainder of the season. Other teams fans will scratch their heads as to why fans of a team that are still (somehow) top 6 feel this way. Pretty sure the majority of us feel this way though. I guess that yeah it could be worse, for example Blackpool are tied down to Appleton on a 4 year deal and can't afford to get rid... West Brom, Millwall, Luton, Norwich all queued up to leapfrog us and our pathetic goal difference gives them an additional leg up. -
You’ve lost that loving feeling?
Ossydave replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I simply feel as though I'm stuck in an abusive relationship with Rovers. Almost all I get from them is disappointment and anger, but I can't walk away from it all. I suppose deep down I KNOW it could be better, eventually, but when that might be nobody knows. It's mainly a social event for me these days too, love my mates and we still manage to have some cracking days out regardless - the football is effectively just a minor part of the day..... Burnley and Preston games really knocked the stuffing out of me this season, being honest I'm still not over either of them. What's perfectly clear is neither game affected the players like it did me though. The sad thing is I certainly don't see things changing any time soon on the pitch unless we pull 3 or 4 cracking signings off in the next few weeks. -

Strongly disagree He'll play premier league football soon, and THAT is why he's a pussy. Football is a soft man's game now at the top flight especially. -

I've had fractured skulls, dislocated shoulders and multiple scars all over, would I change anything? Absolutely not, I still think I'd Marshall our midfield at 41. And that is exactly what this team needs.
