Rovers v Bristol City - 17/03/21

This has got to be a record level of low interest in a game the day before ๐คจ They've won 3 on the trot away from home, scoring 3 in all of those games too. In short we're gonna have to score a few at least to get anything from the game. Quite how we can manage that without Armstrong and Dack I'm not so sure. A few players need to stand up and be counted now and get us over the line to safety. -
Blackburn Rovers vs Brentford, Friday, March 12.

I'll start it with nonsense if it makes you feel better sweetheart, because that's what it is. That horrific injury that occurred last night could have happened last week, next week, 3 months, 6 months time absolutely irrespective of how many games he'd played in a week. If he'd started a player recovering from a hamstring injury despite him having tight hammys pre match then fine, he's definitely played a part but it's nothing like that is it? Not gonna sit here all day bickering about it anyway, if you want to blame Mowbray then fine, your mind is made up. Mowbray out. -

Bollocks. I didn't see people crying for Dack to be rested last night pre match. Nobody knows better how they feel than the player himself, Bradley Dack would not have jeopardised the rest of the season and most of next if he didn't feel ready to play. He got through pretty much another full game and looked more than ready to play on. Listen I want Mowbray out as much as the next man, but to try and blame him for a freak injury is nothing short of stupid desperation. -

I didn't realise how many experts in strength and conditioning we had on here Jesus wept. Some people are making out he only returned to training last week! He was back training in like what September or October time last year wasn't he? Albeit not full training whenever he returned. He didn't exactly look like he was running through the pain barrier to try and nick the ball off Raya did he? His fitness was evidently starting to return as a result of more match involvement. Its pretty clear we were cautious on his return, I would say he hasn't been rushed back at all. It's just horrible fucking luck and devastating for the lad. -

Its sad people feel this way. Personally I'll be back on Ewood but I would say I'm becoming disinterested in football in general (in its current state). Obviously having no fans present has been necessary but its just not cutting it for me anymore, I watch so many games and can count on hand the number of games I would class as a good watch. They're all so flat and it's a chore now even tuning in. Arsenal v Spurs this weekend is usually an entertaining feisty affair, this one will no doubt be garbage. Can't wait to draw a like under this season now and pray we're allowed back ALL next season. Football at the moment is essentially a bath with clothes on, a tug with a Johnny on, a kebab without the meat and a hug from a prostitute. -

Not even arsed about the result, the garbage performance or the pillock of a ref tbh, Dackys injury is utterly tragic if its as bad as initial fears suggest so the rest pales into insignificance. -
Swansea 9th March at Home

Have to admit I enjoyed that. Buckley very impressive which is good to see (yet slightly surprising if I'm honest). Trybull played well again, I hope it was just a bit of cramp near the end. Dacky promising again and it adds further weight behind the argument of him and Armstrong not playing in the same team. Where do we go from here though? I must say we look a million miles off relegation candidates which is a relief as a few weeks ago it looked nailed on. Yet we ain't making the play offs. Armstrong doesn't start for me now, it's likely he won't be here next season so stick with players that will apart from the positions with little in the way of alternatives. -
Mowbrays Successor

Is he? -
As Mr Hoochie says its not dropping anyone with no settled team. He offered more than Trav yesterday and I'm a big Trav fan.
-
I didn't watch the game in full but going off highlights I'd play Buckley now for 5 games or so, see how he gets on with a regular start.

Its an ideal/tricky job come the summer. Given all the players leaving its either looked at as a clean slate and time to bring fresh blood in OR wee with the willy you've got (favourite Souness quote) and perhaps rely on our youngsters. -
Some people just have a support the team/manager mentality built into them. The likes of Birdy, who's absolutely a massive fan, won't have a cross word said about them. You have to respect their opinion even though (in my opinion of course) it's narrow minded and lacks ambition. He's still riding on the crest of the promotion wave with some folk too. Would he get any of the current crop of league 1 teams promoted though? I highly doubt it.
-
Trust me, he still has a lot of match goers backing him. I know quite a few personally and these are lads who've been all over Europe following us.
-
This is exactly where we're at now. The fan base is completely divided again, much akin to the Kean days. It's awful and I imagine if fans were there at the minute you'd see the spats on the concourse that were all too familiar then.
-
Well well well eh. I did not expect that. Like many I saw that team and thought wtf, I actually thought it was a Mowbray V sign to the fans, basically saying I'll do what I damn well want I'm the boss. I didn't watch it as it was my daughters birthday but curiosity got the better of me and was pleasantly very surprised. Its always been obvious as I alluded to pre match that Dack and Armo together doesn't work and yesterday suggests it's still the case. Bring on the divers of Swansea I guess...
-
It'll be interesting to see what he does should Armstrong not play. It's fast becoming obvious that Armstrong and Dack don't really work in the same team. When Dack got injured there was mass concern about where the goals would come from, understandably so. Up stepped Armo who to be quite honest, prior to that wasn't talked about anywhere near as highly as he is now. Fast forward to now and we're in a similar scenario except it seems to be Dack who has looked completely out of sorts. It hasn't helped that he's been trying to regain fitness and he's clearly carrying some extra timber BUT pre injury would that even matter as much? He was just in the right places at the right time, a classic penalty area poacher. He's not currently even getting in those positions hardly and I can only attribute that to how he's being asked/told to play. Watching Everton the other night and there was a ridiculous stat that mentioned about DCL and how he hadn't scored from further out than 7 yards all season. He's having his best season playing exactly how he needs to as a poacher and the team around him compliment that. Not sure we even have the perfect Danny Graham style player to compliment Dack currently though. We could try Ben centrally but it's absolutely critical that Dack, Elliott and even Rothwell are given a license to really push forward and support. Someone else who's blatantly been missed, despite not being the first name on most people's team sheets is Johnson. Check the results since he's been out injured? Coincidence? Or is he an unsung hero that's actually pretty key.....

My daughters 1st birthday on Saturday so the chances of me watching or even checking the scores are slim to none. Might watch efl on quest later on at a push. Millwall rarely lose, we lose lots, difficult to imagine anything at all here. Beaten again by a team full of average players led by a manager with a clear plan.

Ossydave replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The only slight positive in the next run of games is all those teams will attack us apart from possibly Millwall. We only look threatening on the counter and teams like Reading know that. Of course with that comes the issue that we'd need to defend to a decent standard too ๐ -

Boss the possession, create very little, concede stupid goal. Its all too feckin familiar. Suspect we'll give it a go second half, have a few good chances, then concede again. Elliott was silly but not sure even had a man on shout and our defenders ran away from him rather than give him an outlet. -
It'd unbelievable. I'm starting to question if some of these people on Facebook are genuine people or just fake accounts sent by Mowbray to defend his honour. Or, we have some utterly brainwashed fans.
-
Pardon? It was sarcasm just to be clear ๐

Bad news folks, Birdie's given Mowbray the vote of confidence on Facebook now.

ROVERS V COVENTRY 27/2/2021

Well Ben scored a good goal, after that its slim pickings for positives. Looking at the next 4 games we're getting 0 points. If anyone isn't worried about relegation yet you really, really should be. -

Far too reckless. Dolan is a young boy and they read comments on the Internet. If he played a bad pass and someone commented on it I'm not sure he could live with the guilt.
