  1. Grey kit will be fine against those teams
  2. Not sure where you get ten from, only teams we will potentially not be able to wear that is against the teams in all/mostly white of which there are 5 of them: Derby Fulham Leeds Preston Swansea Other teams have either a lot of blue or red so no issue with a grey kit in my mind, there could be an argument for one or two of those teams above that with our darker blue, blue shorts and socks our full kit would easily stand out against a full white kit or white top and black shorts. The away kit with green shorts and socks would definitely stand out! I'm not certain a third kit will be used.
  3. I quite like it, it’s certainly different! *runs for cover
  4. Half Man Half Biscuit - S##t Arm, Bad Tattoo
  5. Tom Petty - Free Fallin
  6. Wouldn't it be nice - The Beach Boys
  7. Conveniently missing Bell, Nyambe, Travis, Rothwell, Chapman and Bretherton who could all start. Nothing like weighting an argument in your favour.
  8. People saying that Raya may look more commanding with a decent back four in front of him need to consider the reverse could be true too. I played as a keeper, was coached at Rovers and local non league teams from a young age, as well as the positional sense, shot stopping etc, the coaches used to encourage me to organise as I had the best view on the pitch, as a loud mouth that was not an issue for me and became one of my strong points, so much so that at certain points I was picked because of this when there wasn't too much between me and the other keepers, even if somebody else was a better shot stopper. I don't recall Raya giving out too many bollockings when those in front of him where as much use as a chocolate fireguard, any keeper worth his salt would tear them a new one, no matter who they are. If we can bring in an experienced keeper with a decent centre half I think it could have a enormous impact on the back four. Whilst Raya has shown cat like reactions at times he isn't commanding, in his frame or demeanor, and you need to have that in your keeper for a good defensive unit.
  9. People criticising Mowbray for not having the "desperation" or "urgency" to get us promoted are quite right to point this out but not to criticise IMO. IT has been publicly stated by Mowbray that way of getting promoted was considered but decided it was too boom or bust, the ramifications if it goes wrong could see the club out of existence, instead it was decided on the slowly, slowly, catchy monkey way of doing things, a method that ensures we build year on year and when we get the the hallowed land we can try and make it for more that one season. I understand why people want immediate results, but for me I agree with the stabilisation of my club to ensure it continues to exist for the long term, especially given where we ended up and the management of the club before Mowbray. Some of the younger players signed in the past 12-18 months are now a year older so I expect more from them if they are given their chance, despite being burned with the likes of Murphy in recent history I remember us signing old timers like Gordon Cowans (integral to our promotion team), Mark Hughes (helped us win the League Cup) and Tugay playing for us until he was 88, so I will try to think positive about Downing until he gives me a reason not to, given the money spent on him in the past and the accolades he has had I think he at least deserves that. I think we need strengthening for sure, experienced GK to get the best out of Raya for one, some more creativity to take the weight off Dack and a reliable alternative to Danny Graham for me are the key areas. We have a good squad of young, talented players and some ready to make the breakthrough which I hope will make it feel like a couple of new signing as well.
  10. Cliff Richard - Living Doll
  11. Chances are those players we are negotiating with have been offered massively reduced terms if they want to extend their stay. If they stay the wage bill goes down for some squad fillers, if they go we reinvest. One thing that I’m thinking about the JL deal is maybe he will cash in on Raya and bring in another number one with JL as back up.

  16. I bumped in to him and had a chat at Dubai airport couple of months back, he was with Steve Staunton, they'd be doing a talk at one of the bars over here and I was flying out on business. He was in good form and looked very well, always been very nice to me and my parents over the years when we've met him at the club.
  17. Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
  18. We played very well for 3/4’s of that game, Stoke were always going to have a spell and they took their chances almost as well as we did, the Crouch header and pen almost outdoing Dack’s failed attempt in the second half, great result from in the end! This league is so tight, 5 points separate top half of the table, the Ipswich and Villa late goals have cost us being joint top! Madness.
  19. The Firm - Star Trekkin
  20. Palmer should not play away from home against teams like that, for me Rothwell for Palmer in the starting 11 was a must yesterday. I am not a huge Smallwood fan and can see why people didn't want him to start yesterday, however, he and Evans in that first half were superb in winning the ball back but Palmer and Co didn't do enough with the ball when they gave it to them after winning it. 4-1 was flattering for BCFC but a lesson to the team that the higher up the leagues you go it becomes even more important to take your chances, if we go 2-0 up in the first half as we should have done then it is perfect for our counter attacking game with Armstrong having space and Rothwell making space when he is on the pitch, but we didn't and BCFC did take the few chance they created. It is a shame that this result is the one before the break, if we had lost this one first up then gone unbeaten we go in to this break post window feeling very happy that we will exceed our expectations of surviving in this league, as it is we have been given a big chunk of reality to chew for the next two weeks and we may only finish mid table, if we don't respond in the next game expect revolt!
