  1. I don't know if this has been posted already on here but... There's a double page article on Jon Dahl Tomasson - I refuse to abbreviate - in today's The Times. (Behind paywall.) Something's happnin, fellas...
  2. How about Russell Coughlin, then? I remember Mick Rathbone describing in his autobiography how Coughlin (and another player whose name I forget) used to buy an unsliced loaf from the bakers on Bolton Road, cut it in half, scoop out the middle, buy chips, pie and gravy from the chippy, pour them into the scooped out halves, and then proceed to eat the lot. 😆😆😆 Great player on the ball. Probably couldn't have coped with today's pressing game, though. ☺️

  4. Unless you have a disability that means you can't walk distances, park on-street nearer South Shore. You lose no time that way. Though last year it was raining constantly and we ended up soaked through to our underpants. Hopefully not in August though. 😏
  5. I remember Sunderland playing us at Ewood on Boxing Day late seventies and bringing 10,000. Young fans, titter ye not. 🤭 In my opinion, Sunderland are a massive club. They'll have 45,000+ attendance that day. Or would we rather have Reading or Bristol Ciry at home? Should be a great fixture and time to hook up with friends or family up there. Just don't mention Hull City and Boxing Day again. I'm still out pocket from our longest ever McDonald's trip. 😒😁
  6. Posters on here valorising big companies. Don't be dazzled by the billions. Big companies are inefficient. Size is definitely not everything in business.
  7. @AndyhHolt Whoever takes over could do worse than shadowing that fella for a short while.
  8. An ongoing space for anyone to post songs which sum up how we feel in this strangest of recent seasons. Blue Heaven by Public Service Broadcasting My offering: this isn't as good a season as it's ever been in living memory but let's just enjoy it for what it is. A eulogy to the German film star Marlene Dietrich, an outsider who didn't court popularity. We're a little club punching above our weight. Those city lights don't bother me, Blackburn Rovers, we're proud to be. Any other offerings?
  9. Nice day for football. Think I might wear some nice bright spring-type colour with my blue. 💛💙
  10. The ref was out well before then. We were outside the ground at 1.30 pm. Some official looking Millwall guy was explaining to their fans he didn't think it would go ahead. The ref was out for a long time on the pitch. Testing it in various areas in each half and penalty area. He was thorough. He was right in front of us on the ground. He did his job properly. Unlike some in the shadows. Millwall manager was on the pitch being obvious. Didn't see our Dear Leader though.
  11. This. I was in the ground around 1.45 pm. We made no real effort to clear the pitch. A few did. Lots leant in their shovels in the centre circle and chatted. Think Soviet era work ethic. Felt genuinely sorry for the Millwall fans. And the out of area Rovers supporters. Something's rotten in the state of Ewood Park...
  12. ITV 4 Week days around 5.50 pm Even Liverpool's pitch when they were dominating in Europe was a scruffy mess. One of these episodes shows Ken Bates of Chelsea being interviewed by Brian Moore appealing for assistance. Bates says that Chelsea are currently borrowing Met Police pitches to train on. He directly asks anyone in the watching audience to get in contact with him if they can help out by lending training facilities ongoing. Couldn't believe it when I saw it. Different days. https://www.itv.com/hub/the-big-match-revisited/1a6464
  13. QPR and Bournemouth don't actually have two games in hand on us. Depends how you look at it. Teams around us play each other a lot in the next few weeks. Some of those teams have to drop points. Impossible for our rivals to win them all.
  14. Maybe they were always going to cash in. They knew it wouldn't go down well with the fans. So set up the narrative to let Rothwell take the blame. Maybe he was always going to be sold? Just covered their arses.
  15. Tony has been flushing Rothwell's head down the toilet for a long time. It was always going to end up this way. Amongst all this speculation, there is one fact: we only know Tony's point of view. He's been manipulating opinion on Joe for some time. It seems to be his management style. Pick on a few easy targets to send a message. That rottweiler Nyambe, for example. If our season falls apart - let's hope not - Tony will need to share some blame. Should never have come to this. You reap what you sow.
