  1. Feels a bit knee jerk to me after one fairly tough away game on paper at least. Hard to disagree he's a downgrade on the last two men in the job but I'm prepared to give him at least 10 games before I make any firm views on his competency.
  2. 1. Winners of the Championship Ipswich 2. Automatic promotion (runners-up) in the Championship Southampton 3. Four Play off semi-finalists in the Championship Birmingham Coventry Norwich Derby 4. Three relegated sides from the Championship Sheff Wed Hull City Stoke 5. Where will Rovers finish in the Championship? 16th 6. First Championship club to change manager (after the season starts) Phil Parkinson 7. Winners of the Premier League Man City 8. A notable wild card prediction of something that will happen in the Rovers universe during the season (e.g. Donald Trump visits Ewood Park) Yuki - 20 league goals.
  3. Could be a very good week if we pull this off. Sad to see Brittain go but £3.5million is good business for a player who was behind JRC 12 months ago and had one year left.
  4. Very positive about this Miller signing. Seems extremely driven, passionate and feisty. Still 4 more needed but it's a good start.
  5. We need five or six to have a similar level squad to last year. Despite links to some players who would have undoubtedly improved our team, we have ended up going for cheaper players on lower wages. From the outside looking in, Pasha is cutting costs further and the only outcome either this season or next is League 1.
  6. This is what I am asking for but in a way that stops us being portrayed as entitled football supporters.
  7. Ive had a think about it and I got it slightly wrong with my initial opinion that the fans should all just stick to asking for venkys out. Although that is the end game, it can get twisted by the club and certain elements of the media so what we should be asking for are two things and two things only. 1. Owners that engage and show up at the stadium occasionally (minimum once a season). 2. A competent senior management team and coaching staff. At present we have Suhail who has never had a job in football prior to here, Waggott who has been at Coventry during arguably their worst years, Charlton the same and also Northampton, Gestede who has just finished work experience and now lands a top championship head of football operations role and Yasir Sufi who has gone from club sec at soccerdome and dissolved marketing business to head of commercial at a Championship club. You've then got David Lowe who has gone from an u23 coach to first team coach and Ben Benson from Carlisle u18s gk coach to our senior team goalkeeper coach and set piece coach at Championship level. All of these people would almost certainly not see an opportunity present itself at this level or even the level below at a functional club in my opinion. If we had the above two things, engaged owners and a competent hierarchy, most fans would be very happy. No demands for money, no demands for premier league football, just engaged owners and a competent board/coaching staff.
  8. If you had significant incentives within your contract of employment to reduce costs and make a profit, would you potentially have a reason to 'accidentally' scupper any transfer deals that could be quite expensive to the club and negatively impact your own income? Quite the conflict indeed.
  9. Call me deluded but I sincerely hope this long term managerial contract will be the start of a domino effect for important first team players..
  10. Wrong line up and completely inept tactically. We would comfortably go down with a very lowe points total if Dave was in charge full time.
  11. No it wasn't, we looked open from the start and any shape from the previous management team has worn off. Hedges could have cost us three times before he let his man get free and score the opener. Wrong team selection and no shape. Lowe wont make any drastic changes as he knows hes a job for life at the club however useless he is.
  12. Haiffa won the league. He was at Tel-Aviv, came 3rd and his successor won the league the following season. They are in the title race again this season and sit 2 points off top. He failed and they improved considerably under a better coach/manager.
  13. Duff has done a superb job at a lower level and has the potential to show his worth at a higher level. Karanka on the other hand is on the significant decline and most recently led the favourites in Israel to 3rd (a bit like coming 3rd with Celtic) before his successor won the league the following year. I'd love a proven Championship manager of higher calibre but who in their right mind would come and work under our shambolic regime?
  14. The contract issue, the longer it goes on, is a huge concern. Our manager has left at least partly because of it and if we aren't securing our decent players, coupled with no funds to buy, where do we end up?
  15. Another fantastic performance today, crucial we sort out these contracts for the medium-long term good of the club.
  16. I see that all home shirts except small are out of stock and suspect the same for the away and third strip. We aren't even in December and on payday weekend in the run in to Christmas the club can't bring in revenue because we have been penny wise, pound foolish by ordering significantly insufficient shirts for the demand. Just another example of a lack of ambition and refusing to speculate to accumulate in a year we have our best set of kits in years. Rant over.
  17. Should we start to get worried about the complete lack of new contracts since Broughton left? Whether you rated him or not, he seemed to do a very good job of securing our talented players to long term deals on a regular basis but I can't recall anything of note since he left. Off the top of my head surely you would be looking to tie down regular players like Hyam, Travis, Brittain, Carter, Tronstad etc? Is this a cause for concern or do we see deals getting done soon?
  18. Bolton and Preston going ahead down the road. This rainfall has been forecast since early in the week so competent clubs were prepared. Unfortunately the men in charge are incompetent chancers*. *In my opinion.
  19. Have we really not had a penalty for 50 odd league games?
  20. Hes had his side locked down so far this season against some quick players. When fully fit he uses his exceptional positioning and reading of the game to offset the lack of pace. Admittedly when returning from injury or not at 100% he can be more easily exposed. Technically very good too which seemingly goes unnoticed.
  21. Keep calm, I'm confident it gets announced this evening once hes done his medical.
  22. Appalling but not surprising. Improved communication? Give over, we need to get these owners and all the clingers on far and away from this club to end this nightmare.
  23. Surely the time for improved communication is long gone? They need politely informing that the only positive outcome now is putting the club up for sale immediately.
  24. Always an exciting time when the fixtures are released regardless of off the field issues. Derby at home on a Friday night gives us a chance to put points on the board early albeit not many new signings expected in our eleven.
