  1. Nyambe is a great one on one defender but his positioning and concentration are poor with his ability on the ball being dreadful. He hasn't made significant improvements since he broke through at 18 so if he won't sign and moves on then we won't struggle to replace him. JRC is very good technically, reads the game but his defending can be improved definitely. Sadly he is made of glass so is unlikely to be a regular here and will likely move on in a couple of years.
  2. Weren't we 2-0 up v Cardiff and went onto score 5? I agree with the concern though.
  3. Great to be back at Ewood today and see familiar faces again. The passion from the stands and players on the pitch was fantastic and although I'm the first to want changes off the field, I would ask any fan that can afford it to get down to Ewood this season and support a young crop of footballers wearing the blue and white shirt. There will be darker days ahead but lets enjoy a deserved win. COYB
  4. You can't compare the two, Idah is a quality player with huge potential and Dolan isn't anywhere near that. Considering the circumstances we find ourselves in this would be a very good deal.
  5. Worrying contract situation, I think we've left it too late and he will run it down now losing value on any sale. Runs out in 2022 I think? Hes a top Championship striker who will go and thrive at the top level. Look at Shane Long who's made a career in the Prem and he can't finish for toffee! Arma has similar pace but scores goals for fun. A fantastic signing by Mowbray it has to be said.
  6. Kaminski is a big upgrade on Walton at a bargain price. A bit flashy with some saves but like another outfield player on the ball is a huge boost to our all-round play. The midfield 3 were superb and it shows the importance of winning the midfield battle as it allows the front 3 to play. Breo is like a new man, Dolan is the closest thing to Duff ive seen coming into the team at such a young age and Arma is a proper goalscorer - even when he plays poorly he makes an impact. Is this the start of a special season?
  7. Tony's going to have a field day with his tombola today 100%. 3 or 4 goals conceded I fear.
  8. Kalvin Phillip's, Sam Johnstone, Jarrod Bowen Johnstone Nyambe, Lenihan, Tosin, Downing Travis, Phillip's Bowen, Dack, Rothwell Graham
  9. Bar the blip in the opening 2 games we are now on the form of a top 2 side and that's where the aim has to be. We have players in the team now that demand success and expect to win and I feel that is rubbing off on the younger players.
  10. Dack plays off the striker or even false 9 at the moment. Rothwell mostly plays on the wing and neither are left footed so I wouldn't compare them to Cairney and Holtby.
  11. The Cairney replacement finally about to arrive? Holtby, if motivated, is a top player at this level.
  12. 10 points from the last 5 games you say? Promotion form.
  13. I think quite a few fans on this board are ageist against our Tony, sad to see.
  14. Spot on, people desperate to find a negative! The back 4 is strong and the front 4 exciting. Smallwood and Evan's need some minutes and are clearly backup.
  15. I imagine a tight game but we seem to have the edge over Hull in recent times so I'll go with 0-1. A miraculous away clean sheet..
  16. Cunningham would be a quality signing.
  17. The main problem for me is tactically Mowbray has got it horribly wrong. We need 3 in the centre of midfield to win the most important battle on the pitch but instead we only have 2. Dack and Graham are effectively a front 2 with Armstrong and Downing not too keen on tracking back. This leaves Evan's and Johnson having to cope with the whole of Rangers midfield, always going to be a losing battle! Having such a poor defence and goalie behind doesn't help either.
  18. Slow, lacking energy and just sitting off rather than applying any kind of pressure..
  19. Spot on. He isn't a coaching genius but his man-management is right up there & that got us promoted out of a division that the likes of Leeds, Sheff Utd and now Sunderland have found out isn't a walk in the park, however big you are. We both know last season was not bare minimum touch and go 'survival' but some twist the truth to suit their agenda. These people need to look up the definition of 'support'.
  20. Neck on the line this will be a good signing. Experienced, quality, not a complete softie like Whittingham. Hes got a great engine and I'm looking forward to him picking out the likes of Armstrong, Dack, Rothwell and Graham. Now for some defenders please.
  21. Unfortunately we are 3 steps behind. Same with Mcginn last year.
  22. Mixed it with Leeds, West Brom and Derby pretty well who have all secured play-off spots this year. Yes they are over egging it to get ST sales but we have certainly mixed it with some of the bigger/better teams in the league. Our failures against lesser teams was more worrying.
  23. An idea I thought of to get money in but also give an incentive to fans would be to give a 'bonus' top up to those who preload their season ticket cards next season with money to use in the ground. Example; £50-£99.99 = 10% top up by the club £100-£199.99 = 15% top up by the club £200+ = 20% top up by the club This would bring in revenue up front for the club but also gives something in return to the fans who get a little bit extra in return for loading up their season tickets with cash up front. Am I talking rubbish?
  24. Great initiative, we should try to get as many as possible sold and look to put on a show. Announce season tickets a couple of weeks before at a fair price and we should see a few more through the turnstiles next season.
