  1. I only follow rally driving very loosely but thats come as shock about Burns,I had no idea he was so ill
  2. 2-0 Arsenal.....sorry boys 'n' girls but we are not in the same class as these top teams. Time to move on and look forward to some winnable home games in the near future
  3. Great footballer who threw it all away.....a sad end. Life goes on.
  4. Hughes must play 4-4-2 if we are to pose any sort of threat to the Arsenal.Wigan gave them a fright with open attacking football,Arsenal's defence could be their weak spot this season. 1-1 Bellamy.
  5. There is one sad comparison between Rovers and Wigan ........ we are both dependent on having massive away followings for us to get a half decent crowd on.
  6. I agree entirely theno and the figures above, polio epidemic or no polio epidemic just go to prove that. Some 23 years later we were still getting around 7,000 for games.
  7. You should have a look at some of our 'crowds' the season we were relegated from the top flight 65/66......EEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!! Home games against Blackpool,Sheff Wendy,West Brom and Spurs all saw, wait for it........ just over 7,000 each. Incredible, can any of the older posters on here put some meat on the bones as to what the hell happened that season?
  8. I must admit reading the last page or two has caused me concerns, infighting already?
  9. Whatever positive is going on elsewhere regarding attendances Ozzie it certainly has by-passed Ewood. Its quite correct to say that the decline in attendances seems to have hit East Lancashire clubs more than most for some reason, its quite marked. I have to admit that to find clubs like(with due respect) Fulham,Wigan and Pompey all above us in the attendance league is a bitter pill to swallow personally, embarrassing and some when you take into account our recent success compared to these outfits!!!!
  10. NOT PLEASENT READING but lets hope matters improve with the 'big clubs' still to come to Ewood. . . . . . . Lets hope
  11. Common Rovers,we'll have that point now!!
  12. Very scrappy first half...nothing much between the two sides.
  13. The myth that Accy 'two-bob' Stanley doing well significantly affects the gates of either Rovers or the Dingles is complete and utter bull. End of.
  14. 1-1 Bellamy. The 'lets have a pop at their crowds' point is often used because opposition fans cant find much else to knock us for.
  15. It's those 15,000 who have a big-club mentality. They only want to be associated with success. Perhaps they all buggered off to watch Citeh eh Marv?
  16. Talking about 'gates' anybody read the article in tonights LET by Burnley chairman agent Kilby about how they need 16,000 average gates down at Turd Moor just to break even!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their average so far is 11,816............. MAN THEM LIFEBOATS FOLKS!!!!!!!!!
  17. What has Tony got to lose by taking the post?..he probably walked out of Ewood with a testimonial cheque big enough to see him right for the rest of his life.
  18. Perhaps Rovers might only ask for 1,000 ozzie, after all, the 5,000 we took in the league cup a a few years back was surely a fluke!
  19. You might be advised to set up a tent outside Ewood TO prior to the release of Wigan tickets!!!!....its just like the good old days.
  20. OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 1-0 Theno Your serve Longsider.............................
  21. Lee, is there absolutely no chance of any more tickets being allocated?...quite surprised at the speed at which they've been snapped up as they were only put on restricted sale Monday!.
  22. I was hoping to go to this game, looks like the 'feel good' factor is returning ......oh well! Should be a huge demand for Wigan away too.
  23. I have a great feeling that anyone planning on investing in a half season ticket could be on a real winner...lets hope the responce is good
  24. Rubbish,Garner can be classed as a 'legend' in the blue 'n' white,Jansen never will....get real fella!
  25. I have to echo the comment that under Hughes the football at Ewood is some of the most entertaining I have seen for years. The team seems to be galvanised and working hard for each other...a sure fire recipe for success. Seeing our fans leave Ewood happy with smiles on their faces again was a sight rarely seen under the tenure of Souness, let the good times roll!!!
