  1. What I want to know is whether Hassabank, Viduka Parlour etc who were missing from the Utd game will be back to face us ? Or will we have the 18yr olds to contend with who made their debuts at OT ?
  2. Bet he can't wait to get cracking taking our penalties !
  3. Full name: Tim 'this ball's a hot potato' Sherwood. Or maybe Tim 'First time ball- inspirational leader' Sherwood
  4. Bravo Mr den! I'm afraid you're whistling in the wind, however. I said the same of Keith Newton but the great unwashed just aren't interested. Hendry will be chosen and you needn't bother with voting for right half and right winger either because Sherwood and Ripley are certain to get the nod over Clayton and Douglas. Sherwood is a cert, you know it's right Jim !
  5. Whoa, Brownie, don't be so sure. Colin Hendry isn't the best centre half to have played for rovers and I'll tell you why in the next few days. Youre probably correct Den, my point was CH will win by a country mile, and he will.
  6. Like the quote about 'playing with a ball' "I have an option for the rest of the season, but I just want to have a lot of fun playing with a ball. I didn't want to stop with that bitter taste in my mouth. My passion is still present."
  7. I'd go for Keeley and Fazack. Whilst watching the great pairing, aged 8, my older brother told me if they were playing in the 1st division, (we were in the 3rd Division at the time), they would be playing for England............I believed him.
  8. Might as well wrap this one up now Den, Colin Hendry will win this by a country mile.
  9. Can't understand why everyone has such a downer on Gresko What harm is he doing apart from offering quality back up at left back should Gray get injured/suspended. The one player I feel has less quality than the average 'championship' player is Douglas. He was out of his depth against Bournemouth. laways baffled me why Souness offered him a 4 year contract. The belief that he was a raving success at Blackpool is misguided. He did a job and filled in where they were short at a reliable standard for a Division one side. Hardly qualifies him for a 4 yr Premiership contract. He should be offered around the lower leagues now, anything above £50,000 would be a bonus. I don't like Johansson either, he's long enough to grow up as a centre half and is no better now than when he first came.
  10. Reckon he'll be on the bench on saturday ? Do we know whether he always plays behind 2 forwards or is he the 2nd forward ? Don't think this would suit Stead and could lead to a front 7 of ; Emerton Ferguson Pederson Djorkaeff Dickov Jansen I also seem to recall him taking Bolton's corners (?)
  11. Even The Guardain are taking the mickey ! "Blackburn? Ou est Blackburn? C'est pres de Londres?"
  12. There's going far and there's going too far. You've gone too far.
  13. Coming from Accy, TD might have a bit of Dingle in him ! Where's my golden helmet ..........?
  14. Longsider, I presume you go, which if you do could I ask you a question. I am constantly in contact with a Burnley Home and away fan who must surely be talking absolute tosh. He swears Richard Chaplow is the best young midfielder in the country and Frank Sinclair is 'absolute quality'. Your thoughts on the above please before I self-combust when I see him on tuesday..
  15. you didnt go? Never does, but some idiots on here hang on his every word !
  16. I would like to think you were correct Jim, but unfortunately fans at 19 other league clubs would disagree.
  17. Shame we can't sack the fans (home). Worst support in the Premiership by a country mile. Ewood Park, generally known as The Library.
  18. Spot on, Emerton was exceptional last night. The 6\10 mark in the LET is nothing short of disgraceful.
  19. BRFC positively threw free tickets at the Asian community to get them interested. It didn't work, generally they only go if they don't have to pay.
  20. Is this aimed at anyone in particular or the entire messageboard community ? Maybe she meant my factually based statement about league positions, cups and Europe was wrong. Wouldn't surprise me.
  21. I hope the current 'maggot' improves our current position by 20 or so places takes us into Europe and wins a trophy in his 4 year stint. Mind you, he thinks our current squad is full of talented not terrible players so he doesn't stand much chance.
  22. I agree entirely Mrs J. My 6 yr old lad was obsessed with Matt ever since his 1st game, not with Rovers with Matt. I've had to explain to him for the last couple of years that he has been poorly etc and might have to play somewhere else. Imagine the smile on his face when I got home half cooked on saturday to tell him that MJ was back and scored the winning goal. It's a moment I'll never forget. I just hope he is playing tomorrow night when I take him.
  23. Having not read the first 10 pages of this thread, this has probably already been said. But if it wasn't for Lucas Neill's direct running and exquisite through ball there would be no talk about Jansen's comeback today and we will still be without a win this season. People were quick to jump on his back last season after admittedly a poor one but I hope it works both ways when he makes positive contributions like yesterdays.
  24. Thats daft! Nobody on her wished Matt any harm and everybody would want him back as he was before his Roman Holiday. I'm one that suggested that it's time to part company with him and though he scored with a cracking shot he generally contributed little. His first touch is abysmal and he even got away with a bad first touch when he scored. Lets just hope that Hughes and this goal can kick start his career. Gotta say I was mighty impressed with what I saw of Bothroyd. It wasn't much granted, but he certainly looks good, and his presence may allow Stead a little time in the reserves / on the bench to regain his confidence which it appears that he needs. That's different, I'm not getting at people who thought we should release him or thought he would never be the same. The people who incense me are the ones who freely spread rumours about Jansen's mental state around every pub in Blackburn. How would any of them had liked being labelled a 'cabbage' etc whilst desperately attempting to convince both management and supporters that all was not lost. I just wish people would think about the potential damage to a player before they open their mouths.
  25. Everyone of you ar5eholes and rumour-mongers who spread garbage like "Matt can't chang a light bulb", "He doesn't know where he is half way through a game" and "Get real, face facts, he'll never play for Rovers again" should go and hang your heads in shame. A lot of people on here refused to believe the peurile tittle-tattle, and they should be applauded. The rest of you should think next time before posting such dangerous rubbish, you are playing with a young man's career. Good on yer Matt, I don't think I've ever wanted a particular player to score a winner more in my life.
