  1. A good Championship GK alone has you lower mid-table with the squad we currently have - although it wouldn't be pretty any time we had a run of injuries.
  2. Another quick wide player, a CB and a CF short. You could also easily get rid of Dolan / Sigurdsson to make up the number financially.
  3. Weimann's a very tidy, clever player - but he's not a game breaker. A wonderful option to bring off the bench and start a few games though, and the type of player the teams contending for the Playoffs have on their bench.
  4. Didn't he hand in a transfer request at Rangers? He won't be getting a loyalty bonus. Shame we're relying on a loan (that we might not get) to provide the pace and width we're desperate for. Realistically he should be the cherry on top and we should have bought our own - two quick wide players would revolutionise our attack.
  5. There's no way any of our signings (besides Beck, and he'll only play due to Pickering being injured) were ever tagged to start on Saturday.
  6. Pep has access to the very best players in the world so can play any formation he wants.
  7. It's why Luton got promoted - they went completely against the new norm of playing out from the back and played two big #9s. a) it eliminates those suicidal goals you concede asking your GK to be a playmaker and b) modern CBs simply aren't used to playing against crossed balls into the box.
  8. Travis is an 8 - he's a box-to-box CM, but yes in the 4-2-3-1 formation you usually play with two 6s.
  9. Now Dembele is off the table are there any other wingers we've been interested in? I'd still love Poku.
  10. £1.4m for Dembele the Oxford fans reckon.
  11. Bet we're picking up ALL of his wages and there's a loan fee involved. Won't be a cheap deal.
  12. Is he likely to start? What's their LB situation like?
  13. What games are you watching? He also stands 15 yards off and lets them cross it at times because he knows if he goes and engages them they'd dance past him. As I've repeatedly said, he's a very good footballer, but he's a shocking athlete - he runs like he's carrying a piano on his back. He's done very well to hold down a Championship starting job.
  14. Fucking hell, Batth is injured already? He's only played about 60 minutes.
  15. He's good going forward (2 assists already this year) but not quite as good defensively as you'd like your FB to be. That seems to be the modern game though.
  16. Wahlstedt wasn't worse than Pears (nobody is paying £1m for Calamity), but that shouldn't be our bar. We need a Championship quality GK. We currently have a non-league GK and several senior GKs who probably shouldn't even be professionals on our books.
  17. Fuck that - if he's a League quality GK he should be straight into the team. If he can't handle a derby then we've signed another wall flower.
  18. I'd love another CF, but I think we can make do with what we've got - we need pace and width more than anything (assuming this GK is much cop).
  19. Like Cannon I think there's a long queue for Stansfield and the bidding starts at £5m+.
  20. They gambled and failed - this is the fallout.
  21. They only signed him this year, so that seems unlikely. He was on loan from Puskas and Fehervar liked him so much they made the deal a permanent one.
