  1. I do have to chuckle that everyone is fawning over Rohl (apparently HSV are interested now) when I think Eustace is a better manager. He needs to keep the accent and the tracksuit - it's the only reason wealthier clubs aren't considering him because he's doing a sterling job here.
  2. If he's very cheap he's a decent squad player. He wouldn't start for many teams in this division.
  3. They were willing to let Beck go for £3-4m (I forget which without looking up the article) in the summer to Celtic. I don't think they're anywhere near as high on him as we are.
  4. I don't think we've got enough firepower to ever expect to put teams to the sword, but you'd hope we can at least get a result on Saturday - we've very hard to beat at the moment.
  5. Travis has matured into a captain this year. Pre-match he put an arm around ACD and said a few words of encouragement. Clearly he's learned a lot from Eustace.
  6. He was calling for it much earlier. Still no excuse for missing it, but I think the timing was all wrong for him. He's actually made several good runs in the last couple of games where, if our players had seen him, he beats the offside trap and is through on goal.
  7. He gets absolutely bullied playing centrally.
  8. Stuck to his principles and got his team smashed. Worked for Kompany, why can't it work for Martin?
  9. The gap between the Championship and the Premier League is clearly monumental these days. Remember when Rovers, Bolton and Fulham all stayed up? Now the promoted teams are lucky to get to 30 points - and that's after spending tens of millions on new players. I'd LOVE it if we were promoted this year, but we'd come straight back down.
  10. He'd be mad not to try and leverage this situation into a better job. It's clear from the last 18 months that no investment is going to be made into the squad, he's on a hiding to nothing eventually - why would he stay? He's not a Rovers fan, he's a professional football manager.
  11. There's a time and a place for this. In the middle of a 6 game winning streak isn't it - let us enjoy something for once, please.
  12. I think he's a very good interviewee. He's been very open and honest when talking to the media (i.e. you don't come away from his interviews thinking you watched a different game to him). He has a message and he sticks to it - and actually refers back to it (see him referencing the same message after 3 losses as after 6 wins - togetherness, working hard, need the whole squad etc etc). He also doesn't hang his players out to dry publicly.
  13. Can he bring his lemon drizzle cake with him?
  14. Diallo dragged that Sunderland side kicking and screaming to the playoffs. Whenever he turned it on, nobody in the division could live with him.
  15. He has done throughout his career, so yes.
  16. I think team harmony and spirit would be fine if we brought in a flying winger who would run past his man and score / create goals.
  17. I think the opportunity for team to get Travis on the cheap has been and gone. They won't want to pay our asking price for him now. Cantwell hasn't done enough yet to warrant a move - not unless he's pushing for a way out.
  18. You've got to speak Portuguese to manage Wolves these days.
  19. He stopped the bleeding - and was very open and honest about how bad the situation was at the club when he arrived. Transfers out / injuries had weakened the squad significantly and half of them had downed tools after falling out with JDT. He made us very difficult to beat and scraped enough points together to keep us in the league. Job done.
  20. Stockport won't have a say in the matter.
  21. But without winning the header, Weimann wouldn't have had the opportunity to 'thump one in from 30 yards on the half volley'. It's a team game, innit.
  22. Could he start for top-of-the-league Liverpool right now? No, probably not, but he wouldn't die wondering that's for sure.
  23. I think it was to give Eustace a look at Buckley. We were 2-0 up, they were down to 10 and he was played in the 10 position (so really couldn't hurt us defensively). I suspect if we had assurances that the money was to be reinvested we'd move him on in January.
  24. Travis for mine. Ran his blood to water today.
