  1. We won't have. Many angry men I've never seen before around me in the Jack Walker. I guarantee they won't be there for the game against Portsmouth.
  2. Personally I don't think it's anything to do with not having quick CBs (they're not slow either) it's that teams just push up on us because they know we can't hurt them over the top. It's very difficult to dictate play like that without an Adam Wharton type player in midfield who can a) turn the man pressing him and carry the ball into attack and b) has an incredible range of passing.
  3. They're obligated to buy him for £7m+ in the summer.
  4. They brought a striker they bought for £11m off the bench. We brought a 21 year old Academy graduate with less than 30 Championship appearances off ours...
  5. They haven't done for 24 months, why start now?
  6. Yes, Leonard had a few flicks and lay offs in his own half. I don't think he touched the ball in their half.
  7. There'd be three more empty seats in the Jack Walker next season if they did that.
  8. It'd be gutting to lose a manager to the likes of WBA, but that's how low the Venky's have dragged us I'm afraid.
  9. A man that thrived on crosses with Dolan and Hedges putting the ball into the box? I'd go with 15 just because he was so good that he'd create some on his own, but the service our CFs get is diabolical.
  10. Serious question - how many would a prime Alan Shearer score in this team? 10. 15 maybe?
  11. We've somehow managed to draw Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley in this run of fixtures - it's been horrendous.
  12. I think most saw it coming. This team is based on organisation and effort. We can't perform twice a week with this paper-thin squad - we simply can't keep the work rate up. We have another month to suffer then hopefully we can get things back on track. The Playoffs will be long gone by then though, sadly.
  13. You're blaming our CM for their CF scoring a header? Good lord you have it in for him.
  14. I'd have taken Cantwell off at half time and brought on Weimann - he's far more likely to try to pick up those knock downs. You could see the Burnley CBs were desperate to get Gueye off the pitch - they were giving him loads of aggro when his number came up. Bad substitution by Eustace I felt. He's an awkward player, but he causes problems - it's just a shame nobody picks up the second ball and our wide players offer no service (I think ACD put in ONE good cross all game and that was the only ball into the box we saw until Gueye went off).
  15. They'll be straight back down without almost an entire new starting XI you'd think.
  16. He carried the ball 30 yards only to see Cantwell offer him no pass (then give up running after the ball he tried to play). He also held his run waiting for Cantwell to play him through and never got it. Was his goal offside?
  17. Gueye gets far too much stick on here. He gets no service, but was causing their two CBs problems. Once he went off our attack went with him.
  18. £3m in transfer fees would be enough if spent wisely.
  19. Is that when their #7 stayed down rolling around for their attack and then, when the ref told play and was told to get up, he jogged 60 yards into our box without a care in the world?
  20. I was saying to my dad on the walk back - the only type of striker that would help us (without reinforcements out wide) is the type that can create chances for themselves i.e. someone that can run beyond the defence and get onto a long ball / clearance. Our only chance at one of those is if Chelsea have some 20 year old wonderkid who's not quite ready for the first team yet.
  21. At least our excuse is we're £40m in the black in transfer fees the last 24 months. They must be at least £150m in the red, so what's their excuse?
  22. Popular opinion - I'd shift Buckley on this window. He's simply not good enough.
  23. The ref allowed them to break up play at will - any time we turned a man or looked to break they just pulled / pushed / hacked someone down and reset their defence. Cullen, Browhill, #29, #7 and Roberts should all have been carded early in the first half to put a stop to it.
  24. He's getting dragged into the same nonsense a lot of the better #10s do on poor teams - he's dropping far too deep for the ball. I don't need my #10 acting as a pivot for the two CBs. Dack and Szmodics both used to do it. Dack took himself out of the game (like Cantwell does), Szmodics was fast enough to catch up to the attack.
