Because it's a young man's game. You lose athleticism (especially explosion) the older you get - otherwise Zidane would still be plying his trade. -

Wonder if the McFazdean to L2 reports are true as you'd think he'd start today. -

We shouldn't be chasing the Playoffs. Let's get that expectation in the bin right now. We've MASSIVELY over performed based on our current squad. Now would it be nice for the owners to capitalise on this surprising start to the season? Absolutely and it wouldn't take a great deal of money to do so. Will they? Not bloody likely. -

They brought in two new CBs. Maybe he doesn't suit the style of football they play? I've no idea, I just know he's talented enough to play in the Championship - it's not a signing I'm disappointed by. -

Sanderson was bought for £2m and was the captain of a Championship team. O'Riordan couldn't even make the bench at Cambridge. At this moment in time it's clear who the better player is - but hopefully Cambridge are mugs and O'Riordan is a world beater. -

Is Forshaw a loan or a free transfer? Surely we've not paid a fee for him? -

Pretty much - and another loan suggests they're spending actual money on the attacking option(s) or they'll struggle to fit everyone in the match day squad. -

The Brentford model left when they sacked Broughton. Now it's about applying plasters onto gaping wounds until every last penny is spent. -

Which is why I continue to harp on about bringing in a quick winger. Someone that will allow us to hit teams on the break at pace, over the top and provide assists for our strikers. It's THE most important piece we're missing. -

I think it's become a lot softer and, therefore, more difficult for defenders. I wouldn't say it's faster or more technical. -

We've managed to scratch a lot of goals from all across the team (16 goal scorers was it?) and of course keep a clean sheet at the other end. -

The pressing is tactic specific - we don't press massively, for example. Guardiola's system and Klopp's system require it. The increase in the number of subs was backdoored in during COVID and sadly never went away. It benefits the richer teams, with their deeper benches, so it's something they always wanted. -

Even the manager is getting visibly frustrated by it all. He's mentioned the need for reinforcements at every media interview for months. He's now distanced himself from the WBA job, but reiterated that he's ambitious (and so are his players) and they're not here just to survive.
