Jones is a running joke among Utd fans. I absolutely loathed how he handled his transfer, and he was badly mismanaged by Ferguson (one of the rare ones), but he's had a poor career relatively speaking.

Watching this Hull / Stoke game - most of the dangerous chances have come from the teams playing out from the back and making mistakes. The point I wanted to make, however, or the question I'd like to ask - do referees have access to the video footage in their dressing room at half time? Gibson for Stoke has landed a forearm shiver on a Hull player at a corner that the ref has completely missed - does he see that on a little monitor and look to make amends, or is he only made aware of his blunder after the game has finished?

He failed miserably in Spain and was quickly kicked out of the door. He's now set an individual record for the number of games played by a PL player without a win and his current fan base hate him. So yeah I'd say his career is going down the drain.

The Baker selection was a manager refusing to change formation. He told us at full time that Weimann hadn't trained for 2 weeks, Sigurdsson was injured / ill, Cantwell isn't match fit and Cozier-Duberry would have been making his Senior debut. The only other fit option would have been Rankin-Costello, but he's had a couple of stinkers lately so I assume he's been taken out of the firing line for a while. I think we got away with it, but he didn't have a bad game per se, he was just clearly playing out of position.

On an absolute shoestring they've found two fantastic Championship CFs and an upgrade at LB, AMC (and possibly AMR and GK). Pretty impressive.

I think he technically has an assist today - but yeah it's your usual Hedges performance (sans going off with an injury). Puts in a shift, but very little end product.

I know Celtic were in for him in the summer on a permanent and Liverpool loaned him to us instead. He's 22 though so you'd think it's now or never for him to break into that Liverpool team. Suspect he'll be plying his trade away from Anfield...

He's clearly mostly just a goal scorer - gets into some cracking positions. His first touch and passing are good enough for this level, but it's not really his game.

I don't think that was his reputation before he arrived here - he had to shut up shop for 6 months to get us over the finish line. I gather he actually encourages his teams to play football, where appropriate.
