  1. Probably because we sold out their away end and expected them to do the same. I agree though, the attendance figures are now beyond a joke - 20k for a Premiership team is disgraceful, especially one currently sitting in 5th. It's tough to blame the club though, there's little more they can feasibly do
  2. It's good news, as long as Tugay realises he's not guaranteed a start, and Hughes actively searches for a replacement.
  3. I suppose I'm happy about this development, but he's still doesn't fill me with confidence at right back, though he has markedly improved under Hughes. I'd prefer a solider defender, one with superior positional defence, but Neill brings that physicality that Hughes loves - athleticism, speed, strength, aggression, stamina - and we'd miss his forward runs greatly.
  4. I wouldn't knock him, it seems to be working!
  5. Unfortunately that can end up worse, Green and co tend to dwell upon an incident and try their upmost to sensationalise it at the expense of the listener knowing wtf is happening with the game!
  6. The screaming Sky bloke, Martin Tyler is it? The tag team of Gray and Tyler really rubs me up the wrong way, the hyperbole is unbearable - they'll slate a player one game and put him on a pedestal the next.
  7. That was an impressive performance tonight wasn't it - we've absolutely no chance of fourth if they continue in that form, though they really deserve it if they play like this.
  8. Didn't say I don't cheer for them, I just don't take the losses too hardly - an example being the Northern Ireland game, I laughed at the embarrassment rather than crying into my beer (nearly got my head kicked in for that I might add ). I didn't think Bellamy and Savage were tossers two years ago, though I had an inkling they were both rather foolish.
  9. I have a similar outlook on the England team, i.e a bunch of tossers I can't stand. Not that I don't cheer for them, because I do, but I don't feel the pain of a loss like I used to. As for my choice, Fat Sam - mainly just to shut him up and get rid of Bolton from the Prem.
  10. Have you seen how we played against Boro and Sunderland? Very poorly, we were fortunate both teams are mediocre at best. Obviously it's the mark of a good team when they win despite not playing well, but I don't like our chances if we continue in this vein. L'Arse on the other hand have been playing teams off the park.
  11. I'm going to get down the bookies in the morning and put a bet on L'Arse for fourth, they're the only team in form. Spuds have fluked another home win, we've not played well for at least a fortnight and Bolton pretty much have to win all their remaining games - highly unlikely considering their run in.
  12. I hate the World Cup'/ International Championships for scouting purposes, just look at Baros and Diouf. Milan took the golden boot home from the Euros (I think) and El Spitto looked like a world beater for Senegal in the World Cup. As it's turned out they're both average Premiership players, but both have moved clubs for in excess of £5m - not that the talent isn't there, but the application is questionable.
  13. Sounds to me like Brucey is trying to get himself sacked
  14. Obviously he is playing mind games with Jose, but it's nice to think he has confidence in those two small Lancashire clubs giving Chelski a game.
  15. We thrashed Wigan away earlier in the season, so my immediate thought is that we'll do it again at Fortress Ewood. However, we played a knackered Latics side that day, whereas on Monday the they'll be fresh (as fresh as you can be at this point in the season). Most of their game is based upon working hard to close you down, disciplined defending and hitting you on the break with two quick forwards i.e Rovers' worst nightmare when the onus is on us to win . Could be a trick one.
  16. Apparently Mr Ferguson has gone on MUTV and said that Chelski away at Rovers and Bolton are games he has targeted as ones they will drop points in. ....which is nice.
  17. Operation Red Code is cancelled, incase you weren't sure Big City have to be down now, they're absolutely @#/?.
  18. 3-0, Rooney, an absolute stroll (*besides that goalmouth scramble right there )
  19. We should double the prices of pies in the Darwen end as petty retribution
  20. I wonder how he'll be remembered; the Newcastle legend or the guy who won the Prem with Rovers.
  21. According to the radio men he signalled that he wanted to be subbed, last time he did that was when he damaged his knee at Ewood.
