It's signings like this we actually should be making - young, talented players from L1 and L2. Ones that have a few games under their belts and stand out at that level, but aren't quite yet of interest to Premier League teams. The £40m or so from Wharton, Szmodics, Raya et al has been completely spaffed on running costs now, so our owners don't have to put their hands in their pockets, but realistically half of that should have been spent on the best young players from Crewe, Charlton, Reading etc. If you want to run a model where you develop players and sell them on, you have to actually invest in the players first. The Academy will bring some through - but as we're seeing the most promising ones get pinched before they can sign professional contracts. I've no idea what to make of O'Riordan - I've barely seen him play. I hope this loan works for him. It seems he played well when he went back to Crewe, so there's still a player in there somewhere, but he quickly needs to push on as he's 21 now.

So we have no money for transfers and our most promising youngsters get picked off for pennies. Don't you just love football?

That's a really odd move. I assume they're trying to ship him out - a loan with an option to buy. At 21 he really should be breaking into the first team.

Broughton bought him and it seemed neither JDT or Eustace fancied him. Normally that'd be a damning indictment because they see him in training every day, but both managers also consistently started Calamity so they're not infallible. He's come on twice as a sub.

Who is the worst player you've ever seen? Cos Woodrow looked like he couldn't trap a bag of cement. Absolutely awful player who contributed nothing when we needed reinforcements in the worst way.

I try not to give the social media team grief, but c'mon. A stunning pass and a sublime finish from two players who are no longer here anymore - and the tens of millions of pounds we got for them haven't been reinvested into the playing squad.

Technically we washed our face or made a profit on Telalovic, Ennis and Wahlsted. I'm not ready to write off O'Riordan just yet. The Forshaw, Dennis / Woodrow signings are what I expect under Gestede.

I liked Eustace a lot when he was here (I'm obviously indifferent about him now), but you do have to wonder. He's bought Sanderson too. If he has Premier League ambitions he has to remove the crutch of relying on older / familiar players.

We're so dysfunctional that I think this club is powered by individuals. Broughton was very good. Park was clearly very good. I have no faith in Gestede to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Joke's on you, I was broken years ago. A couple of seasons freezing your balls off in the Jack Walker Stand watching Hedges and Dolan as your wide men would break any man. The CIA should take notes.

Sheffield Weds have to be nailed on for relegation. No idea how strong the other two promoted L1 sides are - Wrexham will stay up.
