  1. Asked and answered - Ohashi and Gueye have a season of Championship football under their belts now.
  2. We're weaker at CB except for the fact that Batth is a year older (who knows when his legs will go) and Eustace's system protected him. He wasn't asked to do many sprints. Ismael's system clearly asks more physically from his players (hence why we're loading up on athletes) - so whilst I still think Batth is a loss, there's no guarantee he'd have thrived in a system that asks its CBs to sprint and cover ground.
  3. We'll see how they get on, but I wouldn't be surprised if DeNeve turns out to be quite a shrewd signing. He's by no means a silky player, but he gets up and down and has pace - something we've lacked for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if he chips in with his fair share of goals and assists.
  4. They weren't attacking options when they were here.
  5. I think we overestimate how strong the Championship is. Besides the parachute payment sides it's mostly filled with the best cloggers in the land. If you're organised and determined you can survive in this league.
  6. The JDT version of JRC is a miss - alas we haven't seen that player for a few years. He also couldn't play CM - they tried to play him there a few times and he was poor.
  7. You'd be fumin' if you were that Charles lass - she looked alright when she came on.
  8. Hemp POTT for me - ran her blood to water. Always willing to carry the ball and give England an outlet.
  9. They looked poor yesterday and ACD ripped them apart (and we all know how shite he is).
  10. Is he rich enough to buy us and install competent leadership?
  11. To be fair it's worked out wonderfully for us. He won't get his starting job back now.
  12. From what I've read Batth and Weimann weren't on higher salaries - we were the only team in the Championship willing to give them a chance at their respective ages.
  13. 'Goal contributions' is the new fancy term. We need a RW who either scores goals themselves (thereby creating space for teammates) or creates goals for Gueye and Ohashi. We still really, really need a set piece taker too - that's worth 10 goals a season on its own.
  14. It's a problem Lancs have faced for years too - that Old Trafford pitch just doesn't deteriorate. It's too hard.
  15. Don't know if he's right: https://x.com/RoversXtra/status/1949105025327718496
  16. Watching Bolton v PNE on YouTube. I know PNE have brought in a lot of new players, but they're no great shakes. Can see them really struggling this year.
  17. I must be the only one that thinks Wharton is incredibly clumsy on the ball - to the extent where I'd be calling for a DNA test to prove he's Adam's brother. I have kittens when he's passing the ball along the line at the back.
  18. We didn't see Beck worry the opposite full back much either to be fair.
  19. Are you one of these people that also support Rangers / Celtic too? They couldn't warm to him either.
  20. Maybe he's happy with a few of the Academy players stepping up. Tyjon still being here is clearly a big bonus. None of the CBs have disgraced themselves. They seem to like Montgomery as an option at RB and CM. Mullarkey-Matthews seems to have been catapulted into the fringes of the first team.
  21. Wanted 90% of his business done before pre-season started. We're about to head back from our warm-weather camp and we have a gaping hole at RW and no depth at 10 and CM. He can't be happy.
  22. And most of us complained he wasn't good enough - so to go from that to nothing leaves a massive hole.
  23. Nah we clearly need another CM. Tavares and A.N. Other. You'll run Tronstad and Travis into the ground otherwise.
  24. Genuinely hope Elche get relegated - what a bunch of shithouses.
