  1. Of course not, Manchester is the best city in the country - but Cardiff is really lovely.
  2. Unfortunately Cardiff is a fantastic city, so let's hope he's very settled in the North West.
  3. His teams follow a cycle (which is why there are strong accusations of PEDs) - they're peaking again this year. When they're not at or near their peak they're nowhere near City. What Guardiola has done there is unbelievable, really. They're a monolith.
  4. They have a massive catchment area. East Anglia is devoid of football clubs - so is the East of England, tbf, which is why people from Kent support Spurs.
  5. I don't like Nixon, but in his defence I bet we did enquire about Darlow et al - sometimes a transfer never gets beyond an initial query, but it's still something a journalist in that game is going to report.
  6. Is it a lengthy, lucrative contract? And why are we as fans suddenly worried about National Insurance contributions!?
  7. I bet it's a mandatory future fee in the summer that Bolton are balking at. i.e. pay his full wages for 5 months then give us £500k for him in the summer - it's not even a try before you buy.
  8. Newcastle away would have been a good draw (financially). Newcastle at home is a bad draw - we'll get battered and make a sliver of what we could have in attendance fees.
  9. Or how quickly your backup CB finds himself in net.
  10. They tell me he plays for Lancashire, but I've never seen this man with a red rose on his cap and I watch pretty much every game on LancsTV.
  11. Are there actual legs in the Gallagher to Ipswich for £2m story? I haven't seen it on Twitter much (just fans speculating). I'd drive him there myself for that.
  12. Football is baffling, isn't it? After pulling our pants down with the Phillips transfer (ably assisted by Phillips and his agent) we're lead to believe they're going to come waltzing back with a smile on their faces for Wharton? I wouldn't even answer the phone.
  13. Quarter Finals in the Champions League against Real Madrid? Not good enough to play against Plymouth and Millwall for mine. Panic loan.
  14. Mainly because it's a 4th division side that's getting far, far too much coverage due to their owners. I'd love for us to show out (both on and off the field) and give them a bloody nose - but sadly this is a zombie club so that's not going to happen.
  15. Waggot was trying to appoint a Manager and DoF at the same time. He was badly floundering at appointing a manager. Things only started moving when Broughton arrived.
  16. JDT was a Broughton appointment. We were floundering for weeks without a Manager when Waggot was leading the hiring process.
  17. Yep, it's worth £120k to the winners. You're then hoping for either another win in the 5th round (£225k) or an away tie at a Newcastle et al where they split the gate receipts with you. Sadly we're at that point as a club where a good cup funds transfers.
  18. Which is why he's a #10. We have 3 (sometimes 4) of them starting games for us - Moran, Sigurdsson, Szmodics and Dolan. We're crying out for pace out wide.
  19. Fans commit far more to a club than players do - supporting Rovers the last 13 years has been recognised as torture by the Hague. They get paid handsomely to kick a ball about for 90 minutes once (sometimes twice!) a week and know if it fails there they can always latch on elsewhere for a game. We're stuck allowing absolute cloggers to influence our Saturday night mood every week. Leisure fans indeed.
  20. Put him upfront, better finisher than Gallagher already.
  21. Yes. Whilst I'd love to upgrade on Pickering, he's a solid Championship LB.
  22. £15m isn't enough if he's not pushing to leave. It needs to be enough money to be invested back into the team - £15m would just pay bills with these owners.
